Christians in all denominations and in non-denominational churches are being duped. The rise of the social justice and emergent church movements is spreading a false gospel message and distorting God’s very words—and a growing number are falling prey to it.
The social justice movement are pushing a radical political agenda that covertly supports homosexual marriage and candidates that support abortion. And many of our church leaders are not taking the time to educate their members on their intents.
Jim Wallis is the leader of Sojourners, the leading social justice organization in the US. Wallis is a spiritual advisor to President Obama and a former Chapter President of Students For a Democratic Society, a violent communist organization in the 1960s.
Cloaking themselves as a Christian organization, Sojourners consistently supports progressive politics and religion. Their website cites certain biblical passages, but refuses to recognize homosexuality or abortion as wrong or sinful.

Wallis, along with Brian McLaren, Rob Bell, Tony Campolo and Dan Kimball represent the loosely knit leadership of the far left wing progressive Christian movement, promoting ideals like collective salvation and liberation theology. Wallis along with Campolo, started “Red Letter Christians“, which greatly influences many youth pastors and youth within the church, leading them from the total, true gospel of salvation and holiness.
Sadly, another influential pastor, Bill Hybels of Willow Creek Church in Illinois, has joined in this movement and is quietly supporting Jim Wallis’ agenda. And his wife, Lynne Hybels, is the editor of Jim Wallis’ blog, God’s Politics.

Our guest in the first segment today is Julaine Appling of Wisconsin Family Action, and she is here to talk with us not only about social justice but about why it is important for Christians to understand this movement. Julaine is an advocate for marriage, family, life and liberty in Madison. The education arm of this organization is Wisconsin Family Council, and here Julaine works to forward Judeo-Christian principles and values by informing citizens, churches and policymakers about important pro-family legislative and cultural issues so they will be inspired to get involved in preserving and strengthening marriage and family in Wisconsin.

Great article..but Hybels has been supporting these guys for years, I know he’s had Rob Bell…and more recently Shane Hipps, preach at Willow…don’t know about the other guys….

What can we expect from a bunch of rebels but rebellion against God’s Law? I am totally unsurprised by Sojourners promoting Jehovah’s Witnesses since antichrists promote antichrists.
Your article is titled “Social Justice: The Guise of Helping the Poor.” Yet your article doesn’t say anything about helping the poor – only that social justice movements covertly support homosexuality and abortion. Really?! All social justice movements have alterior motives?! As a Christian who has been involved with “social justice” movements like opening a food and clothing pantry for the poor, I find your line of reasoning ludicrous.
When I moved to Wisconsin, I was amazed at the number of people who cringed (literally) when I said I was a Christian. Unfortunately, programs like yours seem to reinforce what and who “Christians” are against — like much of what I’ve heard in Wisconsin. You can still promote the Bible and Christian beliefs without damning everyone — you might actually win more people over to Christ.
Regina, did you happen to catch today’s program titled, Biblical Social Justice? Opening a food pantry as you mentioned is wonderful. The agenda of organizations like the ones Jim Wallis is fronting is what we are talking about. As long as Christians are blissfully unaware of this agenda and where it wants to take us, then yes, we will sound like complaining about what we are against to those who need our Savior.
