The Real Story Behind the Hatred of Chick-Fil-A

The recent uproar and reaction to Ckick-Fil-A President Dan Cathey’s proclamation in the belief of biblical marriage as defined by God is fascinating to watch on many fronts.  As in all circumstances, it is important we take a step back and see the big picture of what is going on here?  Is it an attack on Christians and our religious freedoms?  Is it a sign to how our nation is bowing to political correctness?  Or is there even more going on here?

Chick-Fil-A is a very successful business that until recently any city in the country would be begging to start a franchise in their city, creating jobs.  But suddenly the organization is viewed as hateful and bigoted because their leader professes his belief in Jesus Christ and the bible.  Mayors in Boston, Chicago, San Francisco and around the country have put out the “not welcome” sign for Chick-Fil-A.

So just what is going on in the big picture?  Certainly it shows just how much many of our political leaders hate God and His truth.  But it also shows the devious plans being laid by secularists and evil men to transform this nation into a secular nation void of biblical principle.  When Barack Obama said he was going to fundamentally transform America, is this what you think he had in mind?  Well if you actually took the time to look at his history and voting record, along with his shallow understanding of Christianity, none of this would be a surprise to you.

Take a step back and look at how much things have changed in less than four years—the federal government now owns parts of the automobile industry, banking industry and is now poised to take over the healthcare industry in this nation.  For the first time in our history a President has come out and endorsed homosexual marriage—a man who claims that as a Christian he thinks it is the right thing to do.  A President who has been mentored by communists like Saul Alinsky, David Ayers and Jim Wallis.  A man who has said if one of his young daughters became pregnant he would never ask them to be saddled with a pregnancy at a young age, encouraging them to have an abortion.

Which brings me back to Chick-Fil-A.  Legally, a city cannot stop a business from wanting to open their doors, but behind the scenes they can effectively do so.  They have done it with WalMart because they are a non-union business and a city like Chicago, with its corruption and mobster mentality, can do just about anything it wants by tying up a business in regulations so severe that it makes coming to a city nearly impossible.  The point is that everything is changing in this once great nation.  The Constitution is being gutted and God is being kicked out of every fabric of our government and public school system.  The hatred of God is growing in intensity as men turn to their evil human nature.

The lethal combination of hatred of God, and a growing tolerance of everything except the truth of God, is leading this nation into a spiritual and moral abyss that might just be too deep to recover from.  Homes being invaded because they hold bible studies; churches being forced to rent their facilities to non-believers; and the next generation of mind-numbed robots produced by a public education system bent on destroying anything Christian is setting us up for something very dangerous and lethal.

But it’s just business as usual in many of our churches.  We go to church once a week and think we are good to go with God.  We ignore the call to be light and salt to the evil culture around us, but we do something even worse than nothing—we embrace the evil secular culture and integrate it into our beliefs and values as a church.

Our great nation teeters on the brink of spiritual and moral annihilation and where is the church?  We sit back silently because we want to be seen as relevant and loving—all the while this great nation dedicated to God implodes and marches toward Sodom and Gomorrah status.   One day all this will come to a head and our nation will experience a fundamental transformation—one abandoning God and His ways for our human desires and understandings.  The church will wonder how it got this far—and for the answer all we will need to do is look in the mirror.

I suppose that since the Bible also teaches us how to handle our slaves and the best way to be a good polygamist that we should all go out and find ourself multiple spouses and some people to do some free housework for us. Just as long as those extra spouses aren't of the same sex because according to you that is wrong. Do you want to know what I think is wrong with this country? Its narrow minded people like you that want to tell everyone how they are living their life wrong. Wow you must have everything ALL figured out, and we're all suppose to just fit into this giant mold because the Bible said so. Sickening to see people using scripture to support prejudice. You sir, sicken me.

Michele, I think the first thing the church can do is to take a step back and ask itself a fundamental question: What is the biblical purpose of the church? It is to equip believers to share the gospel and be light and salt to the world. Too often these days the church has become a sort of "country club" where we come for an hour a week and act real holy. We need to develop on fire disciples who love God more than anything and equipped to bring light into the dark culture.

I also think Pastors need to re-examine what their roles have become and what they should be. A Pastor's core duties are shepherd and watchman, protecting the flock against false teachings and humanism creeping into the Body. Too often our pastors are asked to be entertainers, fundraisers, janitors, counselors and babysitters for people who want to wallow in their sin and defeat instead of obtaining victory through God's Word and Spirit.

We are more and more reaching for a worldly definition of success in our churches, based on attendance and size of the offering, instead of the number of transformed lives we witness.

Commenting on your quotes: “Take a step back and look at how much things have changed in less than four years….Our great nation teeters on the brink of spiritual and moral annihilation…” I beg to differ slightly, though sympathetically. I say, take a look back at your history, as far back as you can go in the 20th century, and if we want to be totally honest with ourselves, it's clear that America has been the source and starting point of much of the worlds sin and filth, unspeakable immorality, greed, etc. It's no use blaming Obama. His predecessors have played their own part towards America's problems and his successor will carry on with the baton. Your 'great' country has been slowly, steadily, rotting away at it's roots from spewing out so much vile and profanity through Hollywood, New Ageism, homosexuality, etc…. and all these loooong before Obama, or many of us reading this post were even born!
