The recent uproar and reaction to Ckick-Fil-A President Dan Cathey’s proclamation in the belief of biblical marriage as defined by God is fascinating to watch on many fronts.  As in all circumstances, it is important we take a step back and see the big picture of what is going on here?  Is it an attack on Christians and our religious freedoms?  Is it a sign to how our nation is bowing to political correctness?  Or is there even more going on here?

Chick-Fil-A is a very successful business that until recently any city in the country would be begging to start a franchise in their city, creating jobs.  But suddenly the organization is viewed as hateful and bigoted because their leader professes his belief in Jesus Christ and the bible.  Mayors in Boston, Chicago, San Francisco and around the country have put out the “not welcome” sign for Chick-Fil-A.

So just what is going on in the big picture?  Certainly it shows just how much many of our political leaders hate God and His truth.  But it also shows the devious plans being laid by secularists and evil men to transform this nation into a secular nation void of biblical principle.  When Barack Obama said he was going to fundamentally transform America, is this what you think he had in mind?  Well if you actually took the time to look at his history and voting record, along with his shallow understanding of Christianity, none of this would be a surprise to you.

Take a step back and look at how much things have changed in less than four years—the federal government now owns parts of the automobile industry, banking industry and is now poised to take over the healthcare industry in this nation.  For the first time in our history a President has come out and endorsed homosexual marriage—a man who claims that as a Christian he thinks it is the right thing to do.  A President who has been mentored by communists like Saul Alinsky, David Ayers and Jim Wallis.  A man who has said if one of his young daughters became pregnant he would never ask them to be saddled with a pregnancy at a young age, encouraging them to have an abortion.

Which brings me back to Chick-Fil-A.  Legally, a city cannot stop a business from wanting to open their doors, but behind the scenes they can effectively do so.  They have done it with WalMart because they are a non-union business and a city like Chicago, with its corruption and mobster mentality, can do just about anything it wants by tying up a business in regulations so severe that it makes coming to a city nearly impossible.  The point is that everything is changing in this once great nation.  The Constitution is being gutted and God is being kicked out of every fabric of our government and public school system.  The hatred of God is growing in intensity as men turn to their evil human nature.

The lethal combination of hatred of God, and a growing tolerance of everything except the truth of God, is leading this nation into a spiritual and moral abyss that might just be too deep to recover from.  Homes being invaded because they hold bible studies; churches being forced to rent their facilities to non-believers; and the next generation of mind-numbed robots produced by a public education system bent on destroying anything Christian is setting us up for something very dangerous and lethal.

But it’s just business as usual in many of our churches.  We go to church once a week and think we are good to go with God.  We ignore the call to be light and salt to the evil culture around us, but we do something even worse than nothing—we embrace the evil secular culture and integrate it into our beliefs and values as a church.

Our great nation teeters on the brink of spiritual and moral annihilation and where is the church?  We sit back silently because we want to be seen as relevant and loving—all the while this great nation dedicated to God implodes and marches toward Sodom and Gomorrah status.   One day all this will come to a head and our nation will experience a fundamental transformation—one abandoning God and His ways for our human desires and understandings.  The church will wonder how it got this far—and for the answer all we will need to do is look in the mirror.
