Freedom in Christ

What happens when our religious freedoms are taken away? We’re seeing that begin to happen around the nation and around the world. Thankfully, we have a Savior who gives us true freedom.

In our first segment, did you know that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a social conservative? At least that’s the way one of his surviving family members is characterizing him on the 25h anniversary of the holiday that bears his name.

Dr. King,s  nice, Dr. Alveda King, is the director of African American Outreach for Priests for Life.  She says says advice columns her uncle wrote for Ebony magazine in 1957 and 1958 reveal a man who today would be regarded as a social conservative, and has a few thoughts to share about the big civil rights struggles of our day.

One Response to “Freedom in Christ”

When we loose our freedoms the command doesn't change. Love one another as I have loved you. A greater love has no one than this that he lay his life down for his friends. What does become evident are those who follow after cheap grace who really are not of God for if God is really in us, it is His work in us and not our ability by which we stand. If it is not of God we will not stand, rather we will follow our flesh, which, always looks to preserve itself.

How do we know if we are his if we are not tested in the fire, if we have not resisted to the point of shedding blood. Hebrews 12

What grace have we received, the cheap grace of a smooth talker? Or the Grace that follows after Christ to walk in His steps and if Christ wills lay down our life for His namesake or one anothers sake and holds steadfast to His commands being salt and light and not comprimising the truth.

I hope it is the grace that causes me to die to self I have received. I hope!

I think this is why it says in Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence "speaking of Paul here", work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

May God bless you and grant you to know where you are really at with Him and that by His Holy Spirit you may know the mystery of the Gospel "Christ in you the Hope of Glory".
