Finding God in the details

armchairOn this day after the Superbowl, a lot of armchair quarterbacks are weighing in on the game. An interesting survey last week reveals that a lot of the fans believe that God controlled the outcome of the Superbowl game. If that’s true, did He approve of the half-time show and the ads? Many Christians wonder if God cares about details in our own lives. In our second half, we’re asking, “how much of our lives does God micromanage?”

But first, there are some interesting and concerning developments happening in the Middle East. From more explosions in Syria to a new report that American organizations are supporting the Muslim Brotherhood, are these more birth pangs signaling the time we have in history is growing shorter?  Today we  hear from Ryan Mauro, founder of WorldThreats.com, and Radical Islam.0rg. and an intelligence analyst with the Asymmetric Warfare and Intelligence Center. Ryan has done extensive research for the Reform Party of Syria, a group dedicated to bringing democracy to that country. In 2005, he published his first book, Death to America: The Unreported Battle of Iraq, about the conflict in the Middle East.

Whatever we point to and call such a thing evil and therfore we must prepare and stand against it, we do not acknowlege what the real threat is. It is not what is outside that is our problem but what is inside. We fail to acknowledge our biggest problem of all in all the world is our own sin. Our own ungodliness, that, that is the real issue.

Scrpitures tell us do not fear men for what they can do to the body. Rather Fear God who can destroy both the body and then the Soul in Gehenna.

And again Isaiah 8:12-14 Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say , A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid. Sanctify the LORD of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread. And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

But even in believers, the flesh stretches its legs and takes ahold of us so that we do not do the things we should. Scriptures describes this as the will of the flesh or self will. Funny the thing we love most is really against us at every turn for it puts us against God and His desire for Holiness in our hearts and our actions. I hate that we do have a free will, that we do not desire God's will at all on our own because of it, we love our flesh to much, We want to be God and make ourselves soverign. But if we could do the will of God apart from His miracle, what need would there be for Christ? Why would God have to suffer death for us if we could come to Him on our own?

OH to think of so wonderful a Salvation provide through faith in Christ Jesus and His work His curious work where in obedience to the Father's will He took upon Himself, our sins (all of them) and so became a sin offering, to suffer on our behalf. He who had no sin would become sin for us. To taste God's wrath against sin for all the world and bring it under subjection to himself through what He suffered on the Cross. This was proved in Christ Jesus resurrection from the dead, which, was His chosen sign to authenticate His messege of reconcilliation with God through faith in Him. A gift of God to save us from this body of death.

Holy Holy Holy is the Lord of Hosts, Holy is the Father, Holy is the Son, Holy is the Spirit, they are perfect in Union, Perfect in Will and therefore all testify as One. Each Self Existant and have need of nothing, Each is Soverign, Each is Eternal, Each is Perfect and all that implies, Each is Triune in Nature, Each is All Powerful. Oh for The Wonder of God.

May we seek to understand you by seeking you in your word.
