Harlem Shake the latest rage at Saddleback

Screen shot 2013-02-20 at 1.15.22 PMSaddleback Church’s youth shows us what decades of cultural accommodation in evangelicalism look like, with a little Harlem Shake.  The scene reminds me of those revelers dancing around the golden calf in The Ten Commandments movie. The video is below:

      J…sadly those people are not part of the true Church. They have been deceived by Rick Warren and his false gospel. They are false converts at best. I would hope by now that most true Christians have fled out of these seeker sensitive, purpose driven 'churches' which will all soon become part of the One World Church.

      Very sad to seek this demonic display being called 'worship'. It is worship all right, but not worship of the one true Holy God. It is worship to anti-christ who is coming soon. My heart aches for these deceived young people who need to hear the gospel message boldly proclaimed…and soon! But they won't get that at Saddleback.

      • You are absolutely right Phyllis….this is a complete mockery of what the Holy Spirit is not. This cannot be from God…bercause when the power and prescence of God moves into a place of worship then they will not be dancing like this…but rather they should be on their knees seeking the Lord to touch them.

    I am confused. Is this in an actual church?? How is it possible that the leaders of this church can allow this?? Am I missing something? God help us.

    "Nights of the Roundtable"……I was invited to attend a Bible Study at a Chtistian woman's home and was delighted to be included in what I believed was going to be solid, Biblical fellowship. As the ten of us sat around her beautifully decorated oak table dining room set, the leader opened with a short prayer. I felt that was a good start for a Bible study….very logical as believers are commanded to come together to pray. Coffee was poured, and the platter of muffins and pastries were passed around. Through the course of our "fellowhip," not one of us were asked to open our Bibles, which we had setting on the table beside our pastries, we did not speak of the wonders of God and how God, the Hloy Spirit is working in our lives, we did not confess our sins to one another, we did not pray for one another, and we did not give our Father in Heaven Glory for anything.

    So what did all ten of us do at thiis women's Bible study? We were "Nights of the Round table." There is a play on words here; the word "Night" is associated with darkness, so please allow me to explain and hopefully you will see the light. Rather than open our Bibles, which reveal the truth of God's Word and how we should live our lives as followers of Jesus Christ, we engaged in gossip, slander, talebearing, and whispering. I was far easier to talk about this one and that one's affairs, it was far easier to malign the character of this one or that one that we hated or were bitterly jealous and enviously of, it was far easier to talk the other women into hating the people we did not like because they had wronged us in some way, shape, or form, and it was far easier to make up lies and slander for the sake of having our ten minutes of popularity when all of the ladies' eyes and ears were focused on our own importance for thinking we had some new "news" to share. The "light" of God's Word was not ttaught, studied, or shared amongst any of us, but rather the darkness of our own pathetic sin. We were engaging in sin, and it was full to overflowing with darkness. Not one of us shared our own sins and the sins of our own households with one another…..oh no!….it was far easier to gossip about others and believe all of the manure coming out of our mouths as "truth." We were "Nights of the Roundtable" as opposed to "Lights of the Roundtable."

    Why do I speak like this? Because the "church" is a reflection of that psuedo Bible study I attended for only a brief time. The Word of God is rarely preached and our worship and praise usually magnifies man instead of Christ, which is why churches have become larger entertainment centers, more so than our local theaters.We read these verses in the Scriptures:

    "but know this, that in the last days perilous time will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness, but denying its power, And from such people turn away! For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth." 2 Timothy 3:1-7

    In all of my years of going to the institutional church ….of various denominations contrived by man, have I not heard a good message on any of these sins listed above? Why have I never sat in a church service and received any message wihich led all of us to tears and remorse over our own sin, to the point of repentance and a changed life through Jesus Christ? Most churches in today's modern, post modern, generation X, or whatever adjective one chooses to label our time,, are worship centers of man……with a sprinkling of Jesus here and there. But mostly, they edify the beliefs and works of man, and the articles we read here of what is going on inside church buildings is evidence that there exists a great falling away. What would happen if man's ego weren't stroked in churches, praising this one and that one for their works? I believe most people would get upset that their names were not recognized and eventually leave……for people need an audience so they can be praised. I grew up in a church that recognized no man, but were all in service to Christ, so as not one could boast. We have come a long way in the form of apostasy in such a short time, and God is seeking a people to be "Lights of the Roundtable" instead of "Nights." His ecclesia, or called out ones; congretation, are out there, and you will meet them on the streets, in the grocery stores, at the gas stateions, in the fields, etc….." For where two or three are gathered,together in My name, I am there in the midst of them." Jesus speaking in Matthew 18:20.. God is calling us to come out of the harlot church system…..Believers in Christ…be encouraged, it is time to be the light for Him.

      Thanks for sharing your story Marie. I agree, God is calling us to come out of the harlot church system. Our God & Faithful Creator [1 Peter 4:19] has more than enough "creative" ways to lead us to His ecclesia/ekklesia….May God help those to heed, discern, trust & obey His voice. [John 10:27]

  6. Looking at this new craze at Saddleback Church…it is for sure going to spread to other such false-churches as a new move of the Holy Spirit under the youth. This is total mockery of what the Holy Spirit is not. One wonders how heartbroken the Lord is when He looks upon what the so-called Church is doing in His Name. No….no….no! This is a mockery of everything that the Bible teaches regarding salvation and being Spirit filled to live holy…righteous and pure before the godless world of which we are not to be part of.

    The first time I saw this I actually did think of the golden calf scene from the Ten Commandments. This is really sad on many levels. We need to pray for these people.

    • I can truly say that as these misled young people are dancing to this new-craze Harlem Shake…demon spirits are doing exactly that…laughing and cackling along as they feed off these poor blinded youth…all dancing and hopping under the guise of the Holy Spirit. Blind leaders leading the blind sheep and both slipping into the ditch of eternal damnation, lost for all eternity.

  8. I have only two responses to this and all other sickening signs of the Great Apostasy:

    ONE:

    2Th 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
    2Th 2:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
    2Th 2:13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
    2Th 2:14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
    2Th 2:15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.
    2Th 2:16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,
    2Th 2:17 Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.

    TWO:

    2Ti 4:1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
    2Ti 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
    2Ti 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
    2Ti 4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
    2Ti 4:5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

    I am speechless!!!! My dad called me and asked me to check this out that he had heard of this…..My dad is a Assembly of God Minister………. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that God is not pleased with this in what is supposed to be His House…..If any of you agree of this then you need to go back and read how Jesus cleaned house….He was angry of so called Christians defiling His father's house….. remember He drove them out with whips, He turned over the money tables, He let the animals loose….. for they were buying and selling as well……….our churches today are so full of sin and our families are failing apart , children going back and forth between parents, people in leadership that have no business being in leadership and we wonder why we can reach the Lost….. because the church as a whole is lost…… my heart is sad….America is in a mess today and can our churches help get America back to God??????

    From what scripture tells us, and in my own humble experiences, when the Holy Spirit moves into a place where believers are worshipping, people become extremely still and quiet, because they are in awe of the presence of our Lord God Almighty.
