Sometimes a good old-fashioned attention-getter is often what it takes to wake Christians up to the fact that time is short for sharing the hope we have in Jesus and the Gospel, as the world around us grows increasingly hostile to Christ’s message. Green Bay Wisconsin Christians are joining big powerhitters like Sears and J.C. Penney in their outrage over how Saturday Night Live recently portrayed Jesus as a murderous, revenge-seeking psychopath in a skit called “Djesus Uncrossed,” as a movie trailer on February 16:
This Sunday, March 10, a gathering of Green Bay area Christians will meet in front of the NBC26 studios as well as several other locations for a peaceful but visible prayer vigil. The group says it wants to raise awareness of the blatant discrimination against the Christian faith that has become commonplace in Hollywood and the media industry.
Many in the media do believe SNL went “too far” as the Los Angeles Times opined whether this was the “most blasphemous skit in ‘SNL’ history.”
The group is hoping to send a message to those corporate sponsors who advertise on NBC and particularly SNL. Those companies include K-Mart, Sears and J.C. Penney. The American Family Association reported in a press release that Sears and JCPenney will pull their ads from the show.

I had to hit the pause button 1 minute into the video clip…couldn’t watch anymore. My sensitive eyes had enough. That’s why I no longer have TV in the home…I can’t download these things into my mind anymore….but, I will be mindful of the time these groups gather on Sunday- Love & prayers from Ohio
Have not seen this skit yet but I plan to. I am wondering is this type of expression is motivated by who they see us as representatives of Christ. i.e. Christ is forgiving to the repentent… are we? Christ loves the sinner…. Do we? Christ associated closely with the sinners. Do we? Christ is motivated by reconciliation with Our Father. Are we?
