When Money is our god

Gold Coins

Christians should know the dangers of placing too much importance on money. We know from the Bible that we are to worship God, and it is not even possible to worship Him at the same time we respect or pursue earthly riches. How can we keep that correct perspective as the world slides toward economic chaos and fear? Joining us for this segment is Doug Wakefield, a financial thought leader for 25 years and president of Best Minds, Inc.

Later on in the program, We know Jesus is coming back. Not in the way Hollywood or Saturday Night Live depicts in their own blasphemous ways, but we want to share an opinion piece with you from one writer who thinks that these worldly depictions we see on television are actually blowing wind into the sails of the re-emerging Emergent Church movement.

Pretty sad and shocking situation. I am so sorry for that church and pray they can continue to be a church on their own…despite what the CMA did to them. Looks like there is no legal recourse when this happens. So many once good denominations seem to be going down the drain…disheartening! But… it means the Lord’s return it near.

If things are in the right perspective. The things the Lord puts into our hands is not just for our pleasure or our own consumption even. The things the Lord gives us He gives for the purpose that we may minister to one another in love. Acts 2:42-47, Acts 4:32-35

And even those outside the Body of Christ are to be benefactors of the same love. Luke 6:27-36, Matthew 5:44-48

    Luke 16:9 KJV
And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.

    Luke 16:11 KJV
If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?

    Luke 16:13 KJV
No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Make no mistake material possesions and wealth are unrighteous mammon for these will surely perish in the coming judgement. 2 Peter 3:11-13

Being underemployed from October 208 until November 2012 and now finding full time employment November 2012. I knew God was always watching over our finances but I was trusting in my money and wondering how we were going to make it instead of fully trusting in God.
Now looking back I could see God was watching over my family. If I ever lose another job I know I can totally trust in the Lord to lead, guide, and direct each step of my life.
