Easy Believism: What is the cure?

We are only a heartbeat away from eternity. Are we saved? Is the visible church sugar-coating the Gospel without ensuring that the sheep have been convicted of their sins and regenerated by the Holy Spirit?

One Response to “Easy Believism: What is the cure?”

    Am I saved?

The book of first John was written that we may know if we are God’s children or not.

But let us start back in John

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. John 8:31-36 KJV

When Christ Jesus grants to us freedom, that freedom results in a change in desire which comes as a gift from the Holy Spirit. That desire wants to trust and walk in accordance with the Truth which is in Christ Jesus. That trust, believes God and His testimony of Himself, that He is indeed One in essence and being, yet is in three separate distinct manifestations or persons, Who each have distinct roles and yet still each is equal in every way. 1 John 5:7 KJV. This is why we baptize in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Each is in every way God of very God. Each is eternal, Each is infinite, Each is Soverign, Each is All Powerful, Each is All knowing, Each is everywhere present, Each is Holy, that is each is separate and not part of God’s creation.

Some man will try to tell you these things are not so, but this is what has been recorded in the Scriptures that we may know the One True God and the Word of God: Christ Jesus Son of God and Son of Man, whom He the Father has sent. This demonstration of submission in the Godhead is a stumbling block to many even to this day. We do not grasp how submission coexists with equality but this is the Testimony of God.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John1:1-14 KJV

The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. This is He of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for He was before me. And I knew him not: but that He should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water. And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him. And I knew him not: but He (the Father) that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, the same is He which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.
    John 1:29-34 KJV

This same Jesus of Nazareth, Whom by the Holy Spirit offered up Himself in our place, bearing our sins in His own body and by the might of God endured and suffered the full wrath of God without measure in His own body until the sin was finally purged in His death, having paid the last mite. Not just for your sins or my sins but the sins of the whole world He did this. Not for our sakes but for the Sake and Glory of His own Name and that glory He will not share with another.

He Himself Declares I Am the way the truth and the life, no one comes unto the Father but by Me and None come unto me unless the Father Draws Him and him whom the Father Draws I will in no wise cast out but I will raise him up on the last day.
And Paul testifies by the Holy Spirit: For it is by grace you have been saved and this not of yourselves it is a gift of God, not of works (that is anything you have done or can do) least any man should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

He did this to declare His great justice and hatred on sin, Not sparing His only begotten Son full of truth and grace, and poured out upon Him His divine justice till it was accomplished. If do not accept this testimony of God we stand condemned because we have not believed God's testimony of Himself. Hebrews 11:6, Disbelief is sin. the wages of Sin is death. This death is the Lake of Fire as revealed in Isaiah 66:24, Revelation 20:15

Great is therefore the mercy of God,

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; to declare, I say, at this time His righteousness: that He might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. Romans 3:23-26 KJV

This One, the Christ, the Lamb of God, who knew not sin became sin for us that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. He gives us His righteousness when we believe Him and take Him at His word.

But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness. For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death. But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:17-23 KJV

For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: and that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. For he hath made Him to be sin for us, Who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.
    2 Corinthians 5:14-21 KJV

The problem comes when turn from His word and instead we place our trust in man and in teachings from men who themselves are still entangled in the worries and concerns of this world for this is what they pursue, instead of pursuing the praise that comes from God only. They teach the fear of God as a precept taught by men and have not genuine fear of God in themsleves. Isaiah 29:13-14 KJV Those who follow after them become just like them. Jeremiah 2:5 Men who operate under their own authority and power and seek to draw men after themselves. Jeremiah 5:1-2, 26-31, Acts 20:29-30 KJV

God allows all this to test us to see if our hearts are really with Him. For His command is clear: But this thing commanded I them, saying , Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you. Jeremiah 7:23 KJV, Deuteronomy 13:1-4 KJV, John 14:15, 21, 23, 26, John 15:12-14, Hebrews 8:10-12

May this indeed be our song and our delight

Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.
How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence. They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.
My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.
Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity. Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them. God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God. Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work.
    Psalm 62:1-12

May God grant we turn our hearts to believe Him and away from any hope in man, who himself is only a vapor.

    God bless.
