In Matthew 24, Jesus warns us of what will happen in the end times.  In verse 24 Jesus states: “For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect, if that were possible.”  Jesus goes on to tell us to remain vigilant and prepared for His return, holding strong to Him.

There is no doubt we are in an era where false prophets and teachers are attempting to dilute and twist the gospel message.  Jesus warned us the path to eternal life is narrow—but these false teachers are now saying ALL will attain eternal life.  It is a very popular message that plays to our human pride, ego and fears.

One of the recurring messages you will hear is “A loving God would never condemn anyone to hell”.  The fact is, mankind chose separation from God when Adam and Eve listened to the serpent, believing they could be like God.  Jesus, the Son of God, then took human form to become a living sacrifice to give man a path back to God.  All we are asked to do is to believe on Him as the Son of God and trust in Him.

So God has provided a path to eternal life for fallen man—and we choose whether to accept that path—Jesus Christ—or reject it.  So I would say that it is not GOD who condemns us to eternal damnation, but our own arrogance in rejecting His Son that condemns non-believers.

The false teachings in these final days will become louder and more frequent.  And the message is one that will tickle the ears of many.  And their message is very appealing to a world filled with chaos and destruction.  So, as usual, we have a choice.  We can put our trust in what men say, or we can put our faith in what God says.  Matthew 7:13 and 14:  “Enter through the narrow gate.  For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.  But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it”.

Let’s help one another to stay on that narrow path, firmly anchored to God’s Word and truth.  There is only ONE GOD and Jesus Christ, His Son.  HE is that narrow path to eternal life.
