When you hear the word Watchman, do you think of someone who nitpicks everything Christians do, or do you think of someone who helps the Body of Christ understand when and how we veer slightly–or radically–off the narrow path Jesus speaks of?
Today we’re talking with Brannon Howse, author, columnist and national television and radio host. Brannon is the founder and president of Worldview Weekend, and known all over the world as a watchman who educates millions about issues like the Emergent Church, Syncretism, Dominionism and other movements that divide our churches over whether the Bible is true.
Ezekiel 33 says, “Now as for you, son of man, I have appointed you a watchman for the house of Israel; so you will hear a message from My mouth and give them warning from Me. When I say to the wicked, ‘O wicked man, you will surely die,’ and you do not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but his blood I will require from your hand. But if you on your part warn a wicked man to turn from his way and he does not turn from his way, he will die in his iniquity, but you have delivered your life.”
Paul said to the Church in Acts 20:28, “Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood. I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock. Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them. So be on your guard! Remember that for three years I never stopped warning each of you night and day with tears.”
