In case you missed it, NBC is creating a lot of buzz since the much awaited (and promoted) interview of Saddleback’s Pastor Rick Warren by correspondent Chelsea Clinton. Both the network and the pastor have been getting the word out to their wide audiences, and the interview finally aired last night on NBC’s Rock Center.
Actually there were a series of four interviews on the topics of Same-Sex Marriage, Warren’s re-release of the Purpose Driven Life for the next generation, and two videos on The Daniel Plan, Warren’s diet and exercise program for his church. All four videos can be found on NBC.COM with partial transcripts, but we’re providing them here. (I can’t do anything about the advertisements.)
What are your thoughts about the interviews?
At first glance many viewers might not understand some of the subtle twisting of Scripture about why, for instance, Daniel at vegetables instead of the king’s food. (No, it wasn’t about betting the king that Daniel could be healthier!) But today, news pundits are most excited about Chelsea pushing Rick beyond his apparent comfort level in talking about his stand on same sex marriage.
