Why? Because we think there is a treasure trove of information packed into this book that we can view through the lens of what is happening in our world today. Not that we ever want to take the Bible out of context. Of course we do want to read the Word by looking at who the message was for originally.  Esther was a message for the Jewish people living in Persia under the rule of King Xerxes.

Consider this passage:

“For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” Esther 4:14
