God created men and women uniquely, with important gifts and complimentary qualities. But culture has succeeded in blurring the roles and confusing many Christians as to the proper place of men and women in marriage, family, and the church.
Pastor Mike Abendroth joins us this morning to discuss the biblical roles of men and women in the family and the church. Mike’s latest book Sexual Fidelity: No Compromise talks about healthy sex from the perspective of the Word of God.
Too many people are confused about the proper roles in a healthy marriage. Mike Abendroth shares some Scriptures and some thoughts that help shed light on the subject. We discuss the importance of believers surrendering to Christ, men being responsible leaders in a marriage and in the home, women submitting to their husbands, and raising children in their proper, God-given, bilogical, healthy gender roles.
We also see a number of progressive Christians attacking not only the biblical family unit, but the doctrine of substitutionaly atonement about Jesus on the cross. Is this repackaged humanism, political correctness or both? Why do they minimize or discount teachings on Hell and God’s wrath while espousing tolerance and diversity and even the goal of coexisting with other religions?
But I want you to understand that Christ is the head of every man, and the man is the head of a woman, and God is the head of Christ. 1 Corinthians 11:3
He who sees Me sees the One who sent Me. 46 I have come as Light into the world, so that everyone who believes in Me will not remain in darkness. 47 If anyone hears My sayings and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world. 48 He who rejects Me and does not receive My sayings, has one who judges him; the word I spoke is what will judge him at the last day. 49 For I did not speak on My own initiative, but the Father Himself who sent Me has given Me a commandment as to what to say and what to speak. 50 I know that His commandment is eternal life; therefore the things I speak, I speak just as the Father has told Me.” John 12:45-50
