Brad Dacus

President, Pacific Justice Institute

Brad Dacus has coordinated religious freedom and parental rights cases throughout the western United States. And in 1997, founded the Pacific Justice Institute, where he continues to defend religious liberties and parental rights without charge. The Pacific Justice Institute has a network with hundreds of volunteer affiliate attorneys and handles more cases on the West Coast than any other organization of its kind.

Those of us who are informed and who understand the times know the battle for religious freedom is not just about bathrooms, free speech, or privacy, but it is most importantly a spiritual battle over truth and moral absolutes. It is a battle over the laws of nature and nature’s God.

Many people were shocked when the president issued a directive to open up public bathrooms and locker rooms to those who identify as the opposite sex rather than their biological sex at birth. But this gender confusion began years ago and today’s guest has first hand knowledge of the legal ramifications.

The rights of Christians and freedom-loving citizens are being infringed upon. Who protects women and children and the most vulnerable when our own government is pushing such controversial and warped ideas?

Today, we check in with Brad Dacus, president of Pacific Justice Institute.

In a very recent case, Pacific Justice Institute filed an emergency motion to give two-year-old Israel Stinson a chance to live. After Israel was declared brain dead at Kaiser hospital on April 14, the Stinson family has been fighting for the right to keep their child on life support as he continues to show signs of life and movement in response to his mother’s touch and voice.

Next, back in 2013, there were two proposed bills in California; On the same day that the governor signed a bill (AB1266) into law mandating that boys who identify as girls be allowed to use girls’ bathrooms and vice versa, a California committee approved legislation which would cause non-profit organizations that do not embrace homosexuals to lose tax-exempt status. (SB 323 was introduced by Los Angeles Democrat and open homosexual, Ricardo Lara, and approximately 25 youth organizations are specifically listed as entities that would have to embrace these “gender identity” and “sexual orientation” guidelines, or else lose their tax-exempt standing.

Little League, Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, Young Men’s Christian Association, Young Women’s Christian Association, Future Farmers of America, Future Homemakers of America, 4-H Clubs, Boys’ Clubs, and Girls’ Clubs are all included.

Activists said one purpose of the bill was to end the “outdated practices or organizations,” and one proponent was quoted as saying, “…new experiences are often uncomfortable. That can’t be an excuse for prejudice.” Fortunately, the bill was defeated in the Senate by a very slim margin. For those who might say voting is not important, think again.

At the time – which was three years ago – Brad Dacus stated:

“The common motive is to inoculate anyone who has any objection to homosexuality or transsexuality, and [both bills were] specifically targeting young people. The goal is to make transsexuality, cross-dressing, and homosexuality a cultural norm—not just as a matter of tolerance, but as a matter of socially-mandated acceptance.”

There is nothing new under the sun (Ecclesiastes 1:9) and modern times simply provide sinners with faster and more devious ways to sin. Though every one of us was created in God’s image, it is important to remember none of us are without sin and we all need a Savior. Sin is any behavior contrary to God’s Law and the very reason Jesus Christ suffered and died.

It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost of all. Yet for this reason I found mercy, so that in me as the foremost, Jesus Christ might demonstrate His perfect patience as an example for those who would believe in Him for eternal life (1 Timothy 1:15-16).

Opponents of biblical Christianity claim the battle is over discrimination, equal rights, and “love.” The Bible teaches God is love (1 John 4:8) so what do they mean by love? God cannot contradict His Word. We must remember how important it is to define the terms being used. Enemies of God are using the LGBT movement to normalize homosexuality and transgenderism to squelch Christianity, undermine natural marriage, tear apart the traditional family, and create as much chaos as possible.

But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these. For among them are those who enter into households and captivate weak women weighed down with sins, led on by various impulses, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 2 Timothy 3:1-7

Confusion, corruption, chaos – by design – and happening so fast most people wonder how we got here. We turned away from God and got comfortable. Pastor Gary Gilley sums up the predicament we find ourselves in today:

The world has changed so rapidly that many of us are getting whiplash. The church has been put in a unique and difficult position by standing for the truth which has been thoroughly rejected by the majority. But in darkness light shines best. May the church not cave to the demands of the many but honor the Lord who has set them free from the bondage of darkness.

Shared toward the end of today’s broadcast:

You may not find a better resource for explaining and defending our position on the transgender issue in light of our biblical worldview than this “Transgender Identification Ethics Statement:”

Christian Medical and Dental Associations (CMDA) holds that attempts to alter gender surgically or hormonally for psychological indications, however, are medically inappropriate, as they repudiate nature, are unsupported by the witness of Scripture, and are inconsistent with Christian thinking on gender in every prior age. Accordingly, CMDA opposes medical assistance with gender transition on the following grounds:

God created humanity as male and female (Genesis 1:27, 5:2; Matthew 19:4; Mark 10:6).

Men and women are morally and spiritually equal (Galatians 3:28).

All people are loved by God (John 3:16-17). All struggle with moral failure and fall short of God’s standards (Romans 3:10-12) and, therefore, need the forgiveness that God provides through Christ alone (John 3:36; Romans 3:22-24; Colossians 1:15-22; 1 Timothy 2:5-6).

We live in a fallen world (Genesis 3), and we are all fallen creatures with a sinful nature (Romans 3:9-12).

A lifestyle that is directed by pursuing sexual desires or governed by personal sexual fulfillment misses the divinely ordained purpose of sex, which is for procreation and for facilitating unity in the lifelong commitment of marriage between one man and one woman, which fosters a secure and nurturing environment for children and which reflects the unity of Christ and the church (Exodus 20:1-18; Leviticus 20:10-21; Romans 1; Ephesians 5:23-33).
