While technology has enhanced the lives of people, it is also a very dangerous weapon in the hands of those who want power and control.  When George Orwell penned his futuristic novel “1984” many scoffed at the idea that the government would one day control the actions and thoughts of every citizen.  Well, few are scoffing any more.  We are headed where the Bible has warned us–toward a one world government that is simply a puppet for Satan.

This morning we discussed a report that Congress is about to pass a bill that allows psychological assessments and massive data mining on every student in the public education system for the “common good”.  We again discuss the naive notion that ‘it could never happen in America,” and touch on some blatant privacy invasion under ObamaCare and Common Core. Keep in mind…

Behold, the Lord’s hand is not so short
That it cannot save; Nor is His ear so dull
That it cannot hear. But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God,
And your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear. Isaiah 59:1-2

…if my people, upon whom my name is invoked, shall humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from the heavens and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory. Colossians 3:1-4
