Bible prophecy is a crucial topic for the serious disciple of Jesus Christ.  Our Lord and Savior has warned us of what is to come so we can be prepared for a world that will turn its back on Him and persecute those who trust in Him. But to the very end he is faithful and will save those who trust in Him. A growing number of Christian churches ignore prophecy, allowing members to remain ignorant of the Lord’s warnings.  Some are even fulfilling the prophetic warning of the apostle Peter who said there will be mockers dismissing the warning of Christ’s return to judge all men.

Jan Markell of Olive Tree Views and Understanding the Times radio joins us to discuss her latest DVD project about the attacks on Bible prophecy and why it is being increasingly ignored or scorned by some Christian leaders. “How the Blessed Hope Became the Blasted Hope.”

In our final segment, we discuss another premeditated attack – a shooting of Christians in a Tennessee church over the weekend, the annual See You at the Pole event scheduled for this week in public schools around the country, and a women’s basketball coach whose job offer was rescinded from New Mexico State University after they found out she is no longer a lesbian.

SCRIPTURES

I say this so that no one will delude you with persuasive argument. For even though I am absent in body, nevertheless I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your good discipline and the stability of your faith in Christ. Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude. See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ. For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form, 10 and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority; Colossians 2:4-9

Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunity. Let your speech always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person. Colossians 4:5-6
