Remember “Cliff’s Notes”? They were short summaries of books that would perhaps give a student enough information to pass an exam on the book, but not enough to understand the depth and importance of the written work. Many of us who were students before the invention of the internet probably relied on Cliff’s Notes more than we should have.

We understand enough to think we are saved, but we fail to grasp the eternal truth and principles of what God has given us in His Word, often at our own peril. Bible studies tend to concentrate on the New Testament, ignoring the rich history and timeless principles God gave us going back to Genesis.

What lessons can we learn and apply from this biblical account to our world today?
