On today’s program, we get to tackle some hot topics in our culture and in the church and get a pastor’s perspective. Our guest is Pastor Landon Churchill of Freedom Fellowship Church in Kaukauna, Wisconsin (founded in 2007).
Pastor Landon and his wife, Sunny have three children. Landon has been in ministry for over two decades and is the Senior Pastor while Sunny teaches and disciples the children on Sunday mornings and also leads a women’s Bible study on Fridays. Pastor Landon also helps oversee the Freedom Center Food Pantry in Appleton, WI and actively serves as chaplain with the Fox Valley Jail Ministry.
His teaching emphasis is a contextual, verse by verse study of the Word of God, paying particular attention to practical application.
So many issues, so little time. Let’s get right to the topics of the day! Here’s what we discuss:
- PASTOR’S APPRECIATION MONTH – we sometimes forget our pastors and teachers are men just like you and I with strengths and weaknesses and very real struggles.
- WE TALK ABOUT SERVING, FEEDING THE POOR – BUT DOES THE BODY OF CHRIST DO IT? (LOCAL FOOD PANTRY NEEDS, THE GOSPEL)
- LIFE/ABORTION – POLITICAL OR MORAL ISSUE? Should Christians vote for pro-“choice” candidates? What does God’s Word say?
- HALLOWEEN and Christian families – should they, shouldn’t they?
- IS YOUR CHURCH LOVING, TOLERANT, and “WELCOMING” – and what do these words mean today?
- WOMEN PREACHERS (BETH MOORE/JOHN MAC ARTHUR story) *It doesn’t matter as much what we think – but what does God say?
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God… And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:1-2,14
And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4 in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. 2 Corinthians 4:3-4
These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world. John 16:33
One person regards one day above another, another regards every day alike. Each person must be fully convinced in his own mind. 6 He who observes the day, observes it for the Lord, and he who eats, does so for the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who eats not, for the Lord he does not eat, and gives thanks to God. Romans 14:5-6
Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10 nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God. 1 Cor. 6:9-11
“if I delay, you may know how one ought to behave in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, a pillar and buttress of the truth.” 1 Timothy 3:15
NE Wisconsin friends! Please stop by on November 17 and help more than 300 families a week who are being blessed and ministered to by the Freedom Center Food Pantry and Clothes Closet! About 7,000 pounds of food goes through here every week. We also share the gospel of Jesus Christ with those who are experiencing spiritual hunger, and often pray with those who come in and have needs.
