A Stumbling Block to a World Serving Satan

President Trump’s proclamation of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital has set another prophetic wheel in motion to show the world’s hatred for Israel, just as the Bible foretold. And the influence of Satan on world leaders and governments is slowly bringing the world to the final stage where all nations will stand in opposition to God.

One sign of just how blind people of this world have become is the acceptance of Islam as a “religion of peace” in spite of its history and leaders calling for death to Christians and Jews along with anyone who opposes Muslim domination of this world. Europe, through increased Muslim immigration, is slowly turning into a war zone where non-Muslims are attacked and “Sharia Zones” are being set up including “No Go Zones” where police won’t even enter. Despite these developments, Europe’s leaders lack the courage to admit their mistakes and the grave dangers they have put their citizens under.

And even here in the U.S. we see Christian Churches opposing Israel and refusing to see Islam for what it is: a socio-political, economic system wanting global domination and using a false deity to advance its goals. Meanwhile, millions of Muslims risk eternal separation from God because we as Christians lack the courage and wisdom to share the truth of the gospel with them.

Elijah Abraham, a former Muslim and now born-again believer, joins us this morning. Elijah travels the world speaking to persecuted Christians and educating pastors on how to understand and combat Islam.

Opposing Perspectives on Iran, Government

While most of the international intrigue has been over North Korea’s pursuit of nuclear capabilities to attack America, something very interesting is happening in Iran. The radical Muslim nation under the grips of the powerful Ayatollahs has imprisoned and killed Christians, homosexuals and anyone opposing them. But now the people of Iran are rising up in opposition and this isn’t the first time. Under President Obama the U.S. said nothing against the brutal regime in Iran because the president wanted his precious “nuclear treaty” with Iran – a treaty that has proven to be another example of naive thinking and failed foreign policy.

But now President Trump is supporting the uprising to overthrow a brutal Islamic regime and the liberal press is blasting him. We look at a couple of articles and perspectives on this simmering world-stage issue.

In our first segment we check in with Julaine Appling of Wisconsin Family Council to look at the difference between state and federal government process, as well as pending legislation that would address “non-discrimination” ordinances being passed in Wisconsin that threaten religious conscience and liberty.

Looking Back on 2017 and Ahead to 2018

Our final show of 2017 features a look at an article by Jan Markell of Olive Tree Views on the Top Bible Prophecy Stories of 2017. All signs seem to indicate we drawing nearer to the time the Lord will take His Church home as the stage appears set for Jesus’s return to judge the world. We also look to 2018 and discuss some of the challenges and opportunities committed Christians will face.

The Spirit of Antichrist

1 John 4:1-3: “Beloved do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already.”

Matter settled: Islam is a spirit of antichrist because it denies that Jesus is God in the flesh…so why are so many professing Christians believing that Christians and Muslims worship the same god?

Elijah Abraham, a former Muslim and now born-again believer sheds some light on this deception.

In our final segment we look at the continuing hypocrisy of the left regarding freedom of speech and religious expression.

Trafficking and Profiting from Hate

We have reached a time in America where speaking the truth, no matter how gently done, is called hateful. If you speak out against the facts in the Quran, you hate Muslims. Speak about God’s definition of marriage, and you hate homosexuals. Share what the Bible says about gender being assigned at birth and permanent – even though secular science confirms this truth – and you hate transgenders. Speak up and defend life, and you hate women.

There is big money and power in screaming “hate speech” every time the progressive agenda is challenged or the Bible is referenced out loud. Today, we look at a thought provoking commentary on how the business of hate is consuming our nation.

In our first segment, we check in with Pastor Randy White and continue our discussion on how the Old Testament of the Bible is increasingly overlooked or discarded, even by many professing Christians. Is our growing ignorance of God’s wisdom and proclamations of the Old Testament causing problems in our spiritual growth as Christians and effectiveness as a church?

All Eyes on Israel; Nabeel Qureshi, and Pastor’s Wives

The Bible is clear that in the final years before the Lord’s return, Israel will be ground zero for activity ushering in His return. Jerusalem is called a stumbling block to the world and these days approximately 25% of all discussion within the United Nations focuses on the conflict between Israel and her neighbors who have publicly stated they want it wiped off the map.

We also remember apologist, #Nabeel Qureshi (34) and his conversion from Islam, his heart for ministry, and his legacy. After a year long battling stomach cancer, Nabeel left to be with the Lord last Saturday. We also discussed the expectations the church generally places on pastors and specifically, their wives! There is not enough attention paid to the importance of loving, praying for and supporting them.

We’re joined on air by Jim Fletcher of Prophecy Matters to discuss the importance of Israel, Jerusalem, Damascas, and the Middle east in light of Bible prophecy. We also debunk the September 23 prediction of the rapture or apocalypse.

The Islamic Dilemma

The Bible is clear that as dedicated Christians we are to love all men, even our enemies, and share the gospel of eternal hope with them, including the forgiveness of sin, repentance, and eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ alone. But this is easier to do with some people than others. It may be easier to reach out to groups like Mormons, Buddhists or atheists because there is little fear of retaliation. Some Muslims, on the other hand, can pose quite the challenge.

While the majority of Muslims are not radical jihadists and want to live in peace, there is a growing minority being trained to kill Christians and Jews and destroy our way of life. So when we approach Muslims with the gospel how do we set aside our fears and see them as God sees them – made in His image but in need of salvation through Jesus?

Elijah Abraham is a former Muslim and now a committed disciple of Jesus Christ who travels the world training pastors and equipping churches to reach Muslims with the gospel. On today’s program, we discuss the growth and threat of Muslim terrorism and how this should not discourage us to love Muslims and share the gospel with them.

Islam, World Events, & More Liberal Hypocrisy

This is telling: a teacher in California promotes transgender propaganda to her students without parental permission; a parent complains, and the school system says the teacher has the right to share her personal views. But a High School football coach kneels by himself to pray after a game, some players join him, and the liberal 9th Circus Court of Appeals says he acted unconstitutionally by “imposing” his private views on the students who attended the game. So public employees can freely express their anti-biblical views if they are liberal and a Christian public employee cannot privately express his beliefs. Is there not a glaring double standard here?

In our first segment, we are joined by Elijah Abraham, a former Muslim and now born-again believer who travels the world equipping Christians to share the gospel with Muslims. We ask him about Replacement international terrorism, Replacement theology, and why Islam is generally seen as a darling religion of the left when the Quran calls for imprisonment or death to homosexuals and infidels, and condones the mistreatment of women.

Living for Christ in the Muslim World

When we talk with Christian missionaries working in the Muslim world, we often hear remarkable testimonies about Muslims committing their lives to Jesus Christ. As biblical Christianity grows in heavily Muslim nations where the church is persecuted, we seem to see almost the reverse happening in America. A growing number of professing Christians in America, spiritually softened by our easy way of life, are growing lukewarm in their faith. New Christian converts in third world nations are on fire and unashamedly in love with God and His Word. Is this another obvious sign we desperately need revival?

We continually look at the idea of revival as an American thing, but is spiritual revival happening in Muslim nations because of oppression and persecution? Has our vast wealth in America become the enemy of our souls?

Elijah Abraham, a former Muslim and now born-again disciple of Jesus Christ travels around the world sharing the gospel in Muslim nations and training pastors and Christians to reach Muslims with the gospel. Today we take a hard-hitting look at Christianity in America and around the world.

Discernment or Self-Destruction?

This morning on Stand Up For the Truth we read your comments and answer your questions from this week.  One central theme is discernment issues within Christianity.  Are we using proper biblical discernment or engaging in prideful witch hunts, looking to discredit others who we disagree with?  Also, several have chimed in regarding young people seeking “community” outside the confines of church. We discuss these and other topics of interest today.

First up, David covers our weekly Media watch segment, answering this question:  Why does secular media dedicate so much time to covering issues Americans say they don’t care about?

Listener Questions & Media Watch Friday

‘Where can we find a good church?’ This is among the questions we will address in our Listener Questions segment today. Other questions and comments include, “What does being an Evangelical Christian really men these days?” and, “Is Islam really an Abrahamic Faith?” Segment two begins with a comment from a listener saying she was disgusted with yesterday’s program about the persecution of Jack Phillips, suggesting we are hateful and judgmental. We will respond.

David also takes us through our Media Watch segment, helping us discern the agenda and misleading information much of secular media throws our way. What sources can be trusted and how do we cut through the noise and agenda of the media and know what is really going on?

We will conclude with our “Rightly Handling the Word” segment, discussing just how seriously true Christians should view our sins against God–and why seeing them for how bad they are actually benefits us.

Tragedy and Crisis at Saddleback Church

A sad story to report this morning is one that the Left may try using to accuse the Christian Church in America or hate or hypocrisy. A 32 year old volunteer youth minister at Saddleback Church has been arrested and charged with taking sexual improprieties of two underage children. The man charged is the son of Pastor Abraham Muelenberg. He spearheaded the Muslim outreach program at Saddleback Church and presented the controversial “Kingdom Circles” teaching a few years back, claiming that people (Muslims) did not need to become Christians to be saved.

We will discuss how these allegations, if true, could have a chilling affect on church youth and counseling programs in the future. In our first segment we check in with Julaine Appling of Wisconsin Family Council to discuss the ruling by a Federal Court that a Kenosha transgendered person must be allowed to use whichever bathroom and shower facility fits with her gender fluidity. Parents, it may be coming to your child’s school if it is not already there.

No More Safe Haven

A very simple observation: As foretold in the Bible the world is growing more and more evil. War in the Middle East could break out at any time as Iran and Turkey vow to destroy Israel; evil regimes possess nuclear, chemical and biological weapons that could devastate humanity; governments grow in power, controlling what we do, say and even think more and more each day.

Humanity collectively thumbs its nose at God. Public education and media pollute the minds of our children, indoctrinating them into a world view that opposes God and His Word.

Historically Christians have two “safe havens” where we could retreat from the insanity and growing evil of this world: Our churches and homes. Well sadly a growing number of churches are selling out to the world so as not to offend it; and now even the privacy of our homes and our very minds are under attack by the dangerous growth of highly invasive technology.

Eric Barger has been extensively researching how technology is being set up to manipulate and one day control us. This morning he joins us to discuss his new series “Home Invasion”.

The Danger of Ignoring the Old Testament

Remember “Cliff’s Notes”? They were short summaries of books that would perhaps give a student enough information to pass an exam on the book, but not enough to understand the depth and importance of the written work. Many of us who were students before the invention of the internet probably relied on Cliff’s Notes more than we should have.

Well, are we as Christians approaching God’s Word with a “Cliff’s Notes” attitude? We understand enough to think we are saved, but we fail to grasp the eternal truth and principles of what God has given us in His Word, often at our own peril. Bible studies tend to concentrate on the New Testament, ignoring the rich history and timeless principles God gave us going back to Genesis.

Pastor Mike Abendroth joins us this morning to discuss one of the most fascinating accounts of the Bible in 1 Kings Chapter 18. The unique list of characters in this account include the Prophet Elijah; Ahab, one of the worst kings of Israel; Jezebel his scheming, idolatrous wife; and the false prophets of the false god Baal. What lessons can we learn and apply from this biblical account to our world today?

Reviving an Increasingly Sleepy Church

As we see the wickedness and evil of this world increase at an alarming rate, the beauty of the bride of Jesus Christ, His Church, should be shining all the more radiantly. But while several churches remain faithful to God and refuse to compromise on His Word, a growing number seek compromise with the world for a variety of reasons. Perhaps fear, money or popularity are ruling the hearts of many church leaders instead of a passion for God and His Word.

But there is another culprit in this problem: A growing number of professing Christians prefer a message from the church that validates the desire of their flesh instead of challenging us to walk in holiness by the power of God’s Word and Spirit. And if the pastor dares teach a message about sin, confession and repentance—well they will just pick up and find a more accepting church where they can feel good about themselves.

Today we take an honest look at why the Christian Church in America is failing to shine brightly and point people to their only hope–the gospel of Jesus Christ–at a time when people feel more hopeless than ever. Pastor Jeff Solwold of Calvary Chapel Church in Madison, Wisconsin joins us for a frank discussion of the crisis we face and the only lasting solution: God and His complete Word.

The Rumblings of a Major Earthquake

Catastrophic earthquakes are often preceded by minor tremors as the earth beneath us begins to prepare for a major shaking. To ignore these tremors is to court disaster as we are unprepared for what is about to happen.

The Bible tells us that in the final days this world will go through cataclysmic change never seen before on both a physical and spiritual level. And many biblical scholars believe we are now witnessing these minor tremors warning us that everything around us is about to change in a very profound and eternal way.

One of these biblical scholars is Pastor Carl Gallups, author of several best-selling books that warn us of what the Bible prophesies in these final days. Are we witnessing the beginning of the end of this world and the soon return of Jesus Christ to judge mankind and establish His everlasting Kingdom?

Meaningful Christian Living & Evangelism

Rick Warren’s “The Purpose Driven Life” was a best seller that got many Christians searching for God’s “purpose” for their lives. Our guest this morning says searching for our “purpose” is a wild goose chase because once you think you’ve found it the world will change its focus and you’ll end up like those dogs we see in videos chasing their tails while getting nowhere fast and becoming dizzy and frustrated. He says rather Christians should focus on the meaning of our lives–something by the way clearly defined in God’s Word.

Pastor Randy White joins us this morning to discuss the difference between purpose and meaning, along with the importance of using Biblical Exposition in evangelism.

We’ll also discuss an intriguing study about how “Generation Z” is the least Christian generation in our nation’s history–and why one Christian researcher thinks that is actually a good thing.
