Questions, Comments, and a Call from Angry Listener

It’s Friday. There are always so many good questions and comments to get to, so her we go.

My daughter is 16 and wants nothing to do with church anymore, even though we raised her in church, the word, and prayer at home. She claims Christians are hypocrites and I fear she will be lost when she goes off to college.
I hear more Scripture in one hour on your show than I hear in a month coming from our pastor on Sundays.
Other than in Christ, is there any hope for our children and grandchildren to have a good life in such a dark culture driven by a godless, postmodern education system?
I am a “classical liberal” (not modern) but the primary reasons I vote for Republicans is they are pro-life and support free market capitalism.
Over the last several decades, we have been informed of how anti-Christian the progressive public schools are and that our children are being indoctrinated. Why is this not a bigger issue that Christians still send their children to such a hostile environment to be “educated”?
I am disappointed by your statements regarding the Ford/Kavanaugh allegations. You assume Kavanaugh is innocent, I believe Dr. Ford. Three people know the truth: Ford, Kavanaugh, and God.
The left doesn’t even know what “civil” means anymore. Their fruit is the opposite of truth: double-speak, hypocrisy, and often, outright lies.
I am a Christian and have supported the Democrat Party all my life, but cannot do so any longer. They are willing to destroy people to gain power. I was also supporting the killing of innocent children through abortion.
The #MeToo movement is causing many parents to be concerned for their sons in the future. We should raise sons of high moral character and integrity, but what about our daughters? They will be affected by this one-sided movement as well but I believe this should be a two-sided conversation in our society.
From that Barna survey you read, it sounds like many “professing born-again Christians’ are false converts that trusted an empty gospel of life enhancement.
I wish we would rethink denominations within Christianity. They seem to divide and do more damage than good, and often produce “fake Christians” – and impediment to true Christianity.

As the Battle Rages, Many Christians Opt Out

We are in a battle, but how can we successfully fight when half of the army refuses to engage? As Christians, we are soldiers of Christ and the warfare in this life is very real and yet, so many believers don’t want to acknowledge the reality of this fight. John R. W. Stott once said:

“We should not ask, ‘What is wrong with the world?’ for that diagnosis has already been given. Rather, we should ask, ‘Where is the salt and light? Where is the Church? Why are the salt and light of Jesus Christ not permeating and changing our society?’”

From the family to the church to the community and culture, Christians have been too preoccupied with earthly, temporary concerns than seeking first the kingdom of God. I realize this seems like a broad statement, but don’t you think America would look very different if true believers had been vocal and actively engaged in advancing the gospel over the last hundred years?

Today’s guest is Julaine Appling of Wisconsin Family Council. We discuss everything from our local and state government to the transgender agenda which now includes Drag Queen story hours in our local libraries!

Big Brother is Watching and Waiting

George Orwell’s chilling novel about a futuristic state of government control and censorship seems to be unfolding right before our very eyes. The left, infamously touting their cause as one of respect and tolerance, has shown itself mean and spiteful toward anyone who dares publicly oppose their ideology. They are now willing to intimidate those who speak out against their agenda because they know they can get away with it for the most part.

Freedom of speech is under attack in our nation and when it is finally vanquished, sharing the gospel and the Word of God as truth will be punished. Today’s discrimination and mocking of Jesus Christ and His followers will be replaced with outright hatred and persecution. But hey that could never happen in the land of the free and the home of the brave, could it?

Today we focus on the intensifying attacks against the Word of God and those who trust in it. From Christian churches being vandalized to leftist politicians all but saying people who believe in the Bible shouldn’t be allowed to serve in government, the attacks are real and intensifying with each passing year. We had better wake up!

John Loeffler of Steel on Steel radio joins us to talk about the attacks on our freedom of speech and religious expression along with what he calls “The 5 Stages of Persecution.”

The Real Bullies

For all their bluster about hating bullying the far left in our nation has become the masters of bullying and intimidation. They espouse freedom of speech and expression…as long as your views line up with their views. We are seeing a focused targeting of free speech in our nation and the primary target is bible-believing Christians who dare oppose the left’s march toward globalism and control.

Brannon Howse, founder of World View Weekend, experienced this intimidation and bullying first hand last week. Two scheduled conferences in Wisconsin were shut down when left-wing organizations conducted a coordinated effort to intimidate the venues that were to host Brannon’s conferences, forcing them to cancel the events at a tremendous cost. This morning we talk with Brannon as we see this increased intimidation and bullying against Christians.

In our first segment, Jay Seegert of The Starting Point Project joins us to discuss the attacks against the Bible’s integrity and accuracy.

Did You Ever Imagine These Things Could Happen?

The response to our Listener shows on Fridays where we talk about your questions and comments has been overwhelmingly positive! It’s been great hearing from so many Christians every week, but is has now reached the point where we have continually been unable to get to all of the comments in a one hour Friday show. This has been a consistent pattern over the last several months and we typically carry them over to the next week. So in our second segment today, we will take some additional time to read your comments and answer your questions.

First, we will listen to and discuss a thought-provoking message from Jan Markell of Understanding the Times Radio titled “I Never Thought I Would See the Day.” This program just aired over the weekend across the country. We’ll also share our thoughts on the events and happenings in our lifetime that have been disappointing or shocking.

Tomorrow we will continue with YOUR comments and questions about: Billy Graham, gun control, Christian marriages, transgenderism, the political divide, Roman Catholic “last rites,” and believers being unequally yoked – to mention a few!

The Sacred Right to Life

Liberals have successfully painted themselves as champions for human rights, yet they overwhelmingly continue to support the murder of innocent children in the womb. Somehow, some way they have successfully dismissed the life of an innocent child as something less than a human right. And sadly a majority of Americans and even professing Christians have historically favored abortion to some extent. But is the tide of public opinion starting to change?

This morning we are joined by Stephanie Gray, an international pro-life speaker who began speaking publicly at age 18. She has appeared on almost every major television network and spoken at dozens of college campuses including Yale, George Washington University and California-Berkeley. And last year she spoke at Google in a speech that went viral titled “Abortion: From Controversy to Civility”. She is a born-again believer who is changing minds and hearts by God’s power and grace.

The World Wonders About USA Protests

People see disrespect of the flag, one of the most loved symbols that identify us as a united people. Onlookers don’t understand why young, wealthy, elite pro football players and teams are protesting – but they most likely perceive it has something to do with Trump and the government.

They see a revolution brewing, and unlike most Americans, people in other countries know about revolutions. Many did not end well. So here we are watching to see what NFL owners and players will do next while a literal mad man with nukes in North Korea could literally send the world into unprecedented calamity and upheaval.

You don’t think the world interprets these public protests differently than how they are intended?

Last weekend, NFL football players over in London knelt during the National Anthem prior to a game at Wembley stadium. And if that wasn’t embarassing enough, those same American athletes then stood up for the playing of Britain’s anthem, God Save the Queen. You tell me, what message does this send to the world?

More importantly, I wonder how American war veterans feel about all this. And what about those still serving our country, fighting for our interests in other nations?

The British newspaper, The Guardian’s headline told us how they see it with the headline:

“NFL players kneel for anthem in unprecedented defiance of Trump.”

The world is watching and so are American children. Some still have no idea what the protest is all about. In a nation as divided politically, spiritually, and racially, I wish I could be more optimistic, but I do believe in God’s sovereignty in all things. Let’s pray that somehow this will lead more people to the only true source of peace, Jesus Christ.

When Political Correctness Runs Rampant

This just a week after struggling comedienne, Kathy Griffin held up a severed head of President Donald Trump, days after a New York City Public Theater production of Shakespeare in the Park stabs a ‘Trump’ lookalike (Caesar) to death in a performance of ‘Julius Caesar,’ and days after Senator Bernie Sanders, in anger, suggested Christians that believe the Bible and work for public office.

Today’s guest is Elijah Abraham, is the founder and executive director of Living Oasis Ministries. Elijah’s story began in Baghdad in 1965 when he was born to an Iraqi Shi’ite Muslim family. Elijah joins us to discuss current events in light of Bible prophecy as well as the political correctness running rampant in America.

The ‘Resistance’ Inciting Violence, Looking the Other Way

I miss the old days when disagreement and political opposition did not mean you hated the other person or party. This is now a time of sustained hostility most of us believe will not get much better in a nation that has embraced moral relativism and abandoned God.

The only thing that will alter the course we’re on is if people turn back to God because only He can change the hate-filled, hardened hearts of sinners. This is why sharing the gospel is so important. All around us, people are without hope and hurting, and incident’s like today’s is a glaring reminder of how bad it has gotten.

Abraham Lincoln was right when he called for national fasting, prayer, and repentance because the people had forgotten God. That was 1863. Healing won’t come from Washington or Hollywood; it has to start with us.

As we approach the Fourth of July and celebrate our national independence, remember our blessings and freedoms, yes, but let’s acknowledge the fact America desperately needs revival. In all the chaos and noise, people are more in need of the healing touch and salvation of Jesus Christ than ever in our history.

Ducking the Issue of Sin: the Easy Way Out

We are losing ground by being silent. It’s gotten to the point when someone mentions sin in public, there is typically sharp disagreement, intense debate, or accusations of hate and intolerance. Why? We just don’t hear much about sin anymore. A central part of the gospel message by which we are saved, many church leaders today talk less and less about sin and its consequences. Sadly, Christians have been following their example.

We cannot keep ducking the issue of sin and expect the church and our country to change for the better. We cannot justify the path of least resistance or worse, the approval of sin any longer. Many lives are at stake. If we want to obey the Lord’s instructions and make the biggest impact, there is only one choice: we must speak up…

Deception is Rampant, but What is Truth?

In John 18:38, Pontius Pilate asks Jesus one of the single greatest questions of the entire Bible: “What is truth?” That question is just as important today. It might seem like a very simple question, but when we see how the definition of truth has been twisted and redefined these days, it is vital to clarify from the Word of God.

We are also seeing the subsequent trouble our culture and the church is in, so there is no greater challenge facing us today than to define truth as God defines it instead of following the world and changing the definition to feed our flesh.

Cindy Hartline of Love for the Truth Radio joins us this morning to discuss truth and how it has been redefined to fit the agenda of sinful man.

In our second segment, David Fiorazo has our weekly Media Watch segment as we help you see the clever deception of secular media and how they attempt to indoctrinate people into their agenda.

What is the Problem in the Church?

In Matthew 16:18, the “church” is first mentioned in God’s Word as Jesus tells Peter that his revelation ‘Jesus is the Christ’ is the rock upon which Jesus will build His church. And “the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”

Jesus established His church to spread the gospel and equip Christians to walk as His disciples, living as he lived in obedience to the Father. The Christian Church should starkly contrast secular culture and be light in an increasingly dark world. But is this happening in America? A strong argument can be made that the church is increasingly ineffective in transforming lives and the culture we live in.

Who is to blame for this problem? Is it church leadership failing to equip the believers? Or is it the people they lead? People who want enough Jesus to be saved, but not enough to be transformed into living a life holy and pleasing to God?

We explore these questions this morning with Dave Wager of Nicolet Bible Institute.

My Shepherd and a Weeping Prophet

Dave Wager of Nicolet Bible Institute and Silver Birch Ranch joins us to discuss two crucial men and lessons from the Old Testament that are important for believers these days.

First, we look at the “weeping prophet” Jeremiah: a man called by God to bring a warning to God’s people and call them to repentance only to be beaten, tortured and ignored.

And we look at Dave’s new book titled My Shepherd Psalm 23, a children’s book that brings the assurance that our shepherd, Jesus Christ, will always protect us and never abandon us.

An Unclear Battle Cry from Church Leadership

Make no mistake: as Christians we are at war with this world. No, we do not use the world’s weapons or tactics, but Paul says in 2 Corinthians 10 that we have divine (spiritual) weapons able to to destroy arguments and lofty opinions of this world that are opposed to God and truth.

But many are wondering why a growing number of church leaders are not calling and equipping believers to fight this crucial spiritual battle for the eternal souls of our friends and neighbors. Where are the leaders rallying, challenging, and equipping Christians for this battle? We seem intent on looking more and more like the world we are supposed to win to Christ.

Jay Seegert of The Starting Point Project joins us to talk about the crucial need for church and family leadership in these days of growing confusion and evil.

American Christianity’s Slide Into Apostasy

This morning, Crash Connell interviews Mike about his latest powerful and provocative book challenging the direction of a growing number of churches in our nation. Mike discusses the demarcation forming between Biblical Christian Churches and “American Christianity” churches and how a growing number of churches and denominations are transforming churches toward secular culture, leading many into a false sense of eternal security.

You can pre-order Mike’s new book at biblicalanswerguy.com or at Amazon. It is a powerful, provocative book that will lead you to an honest self-assessment of your life as a professing believer and discover if the church you belong to is conforming to the world or the Word of God.

Deeper Faith, Honest Questions, Sharing the Gospel

Two fantastic guests on the program means #doubletruththursday. Is that a thing? Anyway…

Today, Mike and David welcome first-time guest, evangelist, Willie Herath of Ratio Christi in southern California and we discuss apologetics, deeper questions in the faith, and how to effectively respond to nonbelievers. How important is it for us to be ready to respond when people have questions or have objections to Christianity. We often find out that they really did not know much about the evidence for the Christian faith and the Bible.

We also talk with radio host, Mike Zander, from Utah’s Key Radio where he reaches out to Mormons in Utah with the gospel. He’s in town today and in-studio with Mike LeMay and David Fiorazo.

Are We Turning Toward or Away From God?

Mike and David look at a challenging article by Shane Idelman admonishing the Church to start living and acting like the Church instead of caving to the pressure and beliefs of secular society. And — breaking news — in case you haven’t heard:

The church is not a building or a denomination… You and I as believers are the Church!

The sad reality is that Jesus warned that many who think they are saved and going to heaven are instead headed to eternal hell. Paul tells us to continually test ourselves to prove that we are truly in the faith and have not fooled ourselves. The committed follower of Jesus Christ is willing to do this on a continual basis; the professing Christian who has fooled themselves never thinks twice about it. They have been lulled into a false sense of eternal security by the father of lies and a professing “church” that is afraid to offend people by teaching about sin, repentance and the pursuit of holiness. Together today we will examine ourselves.

In our first segment, we talk Biblical apologetics with Aaron Marshall of Ratio Christi Ministries.
