Mr. Curry admonishes the American Church for being enamored with entertainment while our Christian brothers and sisters around the world face imprisonment, torture and even death fore their faith in Jesus Christ. Are we as a church detached from our suffering family in Christ?Read More
Paul tells us in Philippians Chapter 4 that we should rejoice in the Lord at all times, not be anxious and receive the peace of God that surpasses all human understanding. Now which of us would not want total peace? Yet which of us as Christians truly experiences it?
We have been forgiven of our sins and received the promise of eternity with God in heaven, yet we continue to struggle and worry about this life. Instead of exhibiting peace we are often filled with angst.
Dave Wager of Silver Birch Ranch and Nicolet Bible Institute joins Mike and Crash today to discuss what the peace of God looks like and how we can enter it and enjoy the life He has given us.Read More
There is no greater challenge facing man then the reality of his own mortality. Hebrews 9:27 tells us it is appointed for a man to die once and then be judged. Death in the physical realm is inevitable; where a man’s souls goes after death is the real issue of eternal importance.
Born-again Christians, if we believe the promises of God, should not fear death…we should actually welcome it. But we should also have a sense of urgency about death for those who have not placed their faith and trust in Jesus Christ.
Dave Wager of Silver Birch Ranch joins Mike and Crash this morning to put the inevitability of physical death into proper biblical perspective: encouraging us to enjoy the life God has given us, not fear our mortal deaths, and have a sense of urgency for unbelievers who still fear death.Read More
We live in the growing era of triggering, snowflakes and safe spaces. Most young people are being indoctrinated into the belief that their opinion or worldview is the only valid one and anyone who dares question them is a threat. It all goes back to Adam, who when confronted by God about his sin blamed Eve and God Himself for his poor choice.
In our final segment this morning we look at an interesting perspective by David Hoffman at the Christian Post, claiming that all the confusion in society and the church is perhaps God’s way of beginning to separate the wheat from the chaff spoken of in Matthew 3:12 by John the Baptist.
Pastor Randy White joins us this morning to look at what the Bible says about personal responsibility and how taking responsibility for our own beliefs and actions is healthy for us as Christians.Read More
The human mind, created beautifully by God but corrupted by sin, is subject to believing lies are truth if the lie is reinforced often enough. Today’s generation of young people have been continuously lied to by Hollywood, the media, and a public education system that denies the glory of God. Too many are being indoctrinated into a life of futility and hopelessness because they are looking for meaning and security everywhere except God and His Word.Tyler Geffeny of Ratio Christi Ministries speaks at conferences and churches worldwide challenging and equipping Christians to become better biblical apologists to reach young people with the hope of Jesus Christ in a world that leads many to pursue self gratification. Tyler joins Mike and David to discuss current trends and the agendas the church is up against, especially in the American university system.Read More
We all get frustrated or disappointed with life at times. Things do not go as well as we think they should or as well as we think we deserve. The world tells us we can have our “best life now” and that the world is there for our pleasure and enjoyment, and when it doesn’t work out that way we feel the frustration of life’s daily challenges and obstacles. As disciples of Jesus Christ our attitude should be different. God’s Word tells us that Jesus has overcome the world on our behalf…so why do we still struggle with life’s challenges and disappointments? Could it be that our expectations of God are arrogant and self-serving? Could it be that we have not taken the time to really know the God we claim to worship and trust?Dave Wager of Silver Birch Ranch and Nicolet Bible Institute joins Mike and Crash to discuss how a lack of knowing and trusting in God’s nature and character can lead to a life of frustration, depression or even defeat.Read More
Anyone can say they’re a Christian. If you ask most Americans, including our politicians, they will probably say they “believe” in Jesus. But if we don’t take the time to ask them exactly what they think about Jesus or who they believe He is, we can’t possibly know for certain if they are converts or counterfeits. Progressive “Christians” claim they are doing the work Jesus commanded us to do. The only problem is they are teaching and promoting the exact opposite of what Jesus taught, especially on major biblical issues. When we assume a person is a Christian just because they say so, we are easily deceived.Speaking of assumptions, we welcome a new guest to Stand Up For the Truth, Dave Richardson. He wrote a powerful book about assumptions and how they can deceive us and even hinder us in our walk with Jesus Christ. Richardson’s book is critically acclaimed and comes highly recommended, as it discusses how our deepest assumptions often control our lives for better or for worse.Read More
We are fresh off of Easter weekend as many of us celebrated the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ—God in the flesh who shed His blood for our redemption. He has freed us from the power of death and sin. But with the simple yet profound message of the gospel, many Christians are still often confused about what this life should look like. Did Jesus die so I could be healthy, wealthy, or comfortable in this life? Are my physical sufferings or trials a sign of a lack of faith? If the Bible says Jesus has taken our sorrows, then why do we still struggle with sadness and anxiety?Pastor Randy White joins us to look at the promises of Jesus Christ and how we apply them in correct context to our lives as His disciples.Read More
God speaks very clearly in Scripture on the subject of human life and the value of the unborn. It’s quite confusing why some Christians are still open to exceptions on abortion and others are proudly pro-choice. Even science and biology provide evidence for human life in the womb.
We know at conception, a person’s complete DNA is present – separate from the mother – and we know when a baby’s heart starts beating, when their organs are developed, and that babies can feel pain in the womb at 20 weeks. But today, we’re looking closely at the issue of rape victims and their children.Read More
There’s so much happening in our world, country, and culture today it’s hard to know where to start. We cannot possibly tackle all the tough, controversial issues, but we sure can address some of the most recent news stories that affect our lives, our children, or churches.
David and Crash go through a few dozen news items of interest and strive to offer a balanced, Christian perspective to what’s going on today. As always, trust the Lord Jesus, make the Word of God your solid foundation, be discerning and understand the dark days we find ourselves in.Read More
“A firefighter rescuing people from a burning building may be fearful and prefer to be home with his family, but he ignores his fears and denies himself. Like him, our thoughts are not on ourselves but on the fate of the perishing.” Evangelist, Ray Comfort, Living Waters Ministry
Today’s topic is evangelism, sharing our faith, and the gospel. We discuss reasons to share the gospel as well as why most of us don’t do it. How much of it comes down to our obedience and trusting the Lord? Today’s guest is Jay Seegert of The Starting Point ProjectRead More
Most of us know and understand the fact that too much screen time can affect our lives. Some would say screens are frying our brains, but we won’t go that far. Media affects us emotionally as well, to the point some people simply have to unplug for a while. Kids need to do this even more so as they are forming life habits – including a worldview – and social media and technology does affect their young minds and behavior.
For Christian parents, the importance of protecting your children from all the dangers, seductions, and perversions on social media cannot be overstated. All parents must go the extra mile and take this very seriously. We catch up with Counter Culture Mom, Tina Marie Griffin to talk about the dangers of social media and today’s ‘accepted’ forms of entertainment.Read More
