Technology: Servant or Master?

Smart phones that track your location; televisions and computers that can watch you; medical implants that monitor and treat us medically; and new super computers that some hope will learn how to think and act “human”. Depending on your perspective the future of technology can sound exciting or frightening.

There are serious scientists backed by rich individuals who actually believe that in the next 10-20 years human beings might have the ability to “live forever” as we integrate computer technology with human flesh. And the corporation driving this vision is none other than Google: a corporation that has much more control over you and me than we even realize.

Does the Bible speak to this insane search for human immortality? How do we respond as Christians to this advance in technology? Pastor Carl Gallups, a radio show host and best selling author joins us for a biblical perspective on technology along with a discussion on end times prophecy.

New Apostolic Reformation Movement

Today we tackle the offices of prophet and apostle, signs and wonders, revealed Scripture or new revelation. What does it mean to take dominion over the earth? Where does spiritual warfare and revival come into play? What about those who call themselves Apostle or Prophet? These are among the issues Christian theologians and believers have discussed for hundreds of years.

This morning we also address the New Apostolic Reformation movement that most credit to C. Peter Wagner. Is it consistent with biblical teachings and the traditional Protestant views of the Bible? Dr. Gary Gilley is an author and pastor who has written extensively on the subject and joins us to give us his perspective.

A World Preparing to Kneel Before Anti-Christ

It is very difficult to escape the reality that Satan’s influence is growing by leaps and bounds in the days in which we live. The rise of Islamic terrorism, a religion clearly defined as a religion of anti-christ in the bible, along with the growing hedonism all around us are clear indications that mankind has decided we do not need God, and we would prefer to do things our way. And we should not be surprised at what we see because God’s Word warned us all these things would increase in the times leading up to the Lord’s return.

America certainly has enough of its own moral and spiritual problems, but this morning we focus on events in Europe and worldwide that are preparing the way for the “New World Order” where Satan’s puppet, anti-christ, will be worshiped as the savior of humanity, and most will blindly follow up while turning their backs on the one who died on a cross so we could be reconciled to God.

Pastor Carl Gallups joins us to look at a world lining up to reject God and embrace its true enemy: The one who seeks to destroy the eternal souls of all men.

Assessing President Trump’s Efforts in the Middle East

This morning we look at President Trump’s visit to the Middle East to try to rally Muslim nations against ISIS and terrorism, along with his ambitious hopes to bring peace to Israel and its enemies. We will look at his efforts from biblical and pragmatic viewpoints, and discuss some writings by Christian author, Bill Koenig, a White House corespondent. In the first segment we check in with Dr. Cal Beisner of the Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation to look at the radical environmental movement and its real agenda.

Skeptics & Scoffers

God’s Word warns us of a couple very important things: first, that Jesus is returning one day to judge all men and establish His everlasting Kingdom; and second, there will be those who mock and doubt His return, believing mankind can work out all our own problems.

But the warning signs of His return are all around us for those who have eyes to see: other than wars and rumors of wars, Israel is once again a nation; the whole world led by the United Nations is opposing Israel; radical Islam is vowing to destroy Israel; and regimes in North Korea, China, Russia, Iran and Syria have the chemical and nuclear weapons to plunge the world into the final great war before the Lord returns. Today’s guest, Gary Kah, has studied biblical prophecy, globalism and the coming one world government for several decades.

Follow the Money

When dealing with governments or political/social movements, ‘follow the money’ is usually sound advice when you want to know the real agenda. We consistently hear the latest scares about how the earth is heating to catastrophic levels, threatening humanity. This coming from the same people who warned us thirty years ago that we risked heading into a new “ice age” that would threaten to destroy us.

Many people believe the real issue is radical wealth redistribution leading to totalitarian world government or even population control. As we approach Earth Day this Saturday and the ant-scientific ‘March for Science,’ expect to hear grim warnings of where we are headed over CO2 emissions once again. Joining us to cut through the fog is Dr. Cal Beissner of The Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation.

We also look at the National Day of Prayer events that will be held on May 4 once again this year. While Christians gathering for prayer is a good thing, have some of them become nothing more than multi-faith events promoting Universalism? We’ll discuss that with the coordinators of our Green Bay area National Day of Prayer in our second segment this morning.

Who’s in Charge of the ‘Kingdom Now’?

A crucial doctrine of Christianity is the eventual return of Jesus Christ to judge all men and establish His everlasting Kingdom. Sadly, Bible prophecy is ignored in many churches so Christians are left to their own to try to understand that glorious day when our Lord returns to vanquish evil.

One question I love to ask professing Christians is this: When Jesus returns what does the world look like and what does He do? If their answer involves us, human beings establishing universal justice or cleaning up the world of poverty and pollution, then I know I am dealing with someone who embraces what is called “Dominion theology.” This is the idea that when men clean up the earth Jesus returns and we simply “hand over the keys” to Him so to speak. This is a dangerous form of Humanism, elevating man and discounting God.

One arm of Dominion Theology is called “Kingdom Now” theology and this morning we are joined by Pastor Andy Woods who has written several books discussing this movement.

Watching Culture, Media, and the Church

It’s a full program today including three separate segments: Counter Culture, Media Watch, and a False Teaching Review. Tina Marie Griffin of Counter Culture Mom checks in with ideas on how to effectively navigate today’s pop culture in order to protect your faith and your family.

David Fiorazo shares another ‘Media Watch’ segment where we help you cut through the confusion of secular news, propaganda, and media bias.

And in our False Teaching segment today, Mike and David discuss the movement of dominionism. Just what is the biblical approach to temporarily occupying this earth? How should Christians be light and salt in a dying world and in what ways are some using incomplete or false teachings to advance an agenda that contradicts the teachings and prophecies in God’s Word?

If Saul Alinsky Were Alive Today…

Just How Low Can Humanity Sink?

In our final segment this morning we cover a tragic story of what can happen when people are taught that human life is an accident of the universe instead of life created by God in His image. A group of teenagers in Florida saw a man drowning, and instead of trying to help him they recorded the event on social media, mocking him as he splashed around. Now, two young daughters are without their father.

First up, we talk with Jay Seegert of The Starting Point Project and discuss his article, “A Simple Approach to Sharing Your Faith.” Have we made sharing the gospel something we dread instead of enjoy doing? What are some ways we can open up a discussion with anyone, offering them the hope of eternal life with God?

Discernment or Self-Destruction?

This morning on Stand Up For the Truth we read your comments and answer your questions from this week.  One central theme is discernment issues within Christianity.  Are we using proper biblical discernment or engaging in prideful witch hunts, looking to discredit others who we disagree with?  Also, several have chimed in regarding young people seeking “community” outside the confines of church. We discuss these and other topics of interest today.

First up, David covers our weekly Media watch segment, answering this question:  Why does secular media dedicate so much time to covering issues Americans say they don’t care about?

Controversial Issues in the Christian Church

Families and societies operate best when there are fixed standards of morality to guide our actions. In our nation, we were established upon the rule of law, supposedly giving us clear instruction what is acceptable or unacceptable behavior. As Christians we are guided by God’s Word which sets the ultimate standard for morality and acceptable behavior for us. But what happens when “normal” becomes subjective to personal feelings?

In the first segment today, we check in with Doug Wakefield of Best Minds, Inc. to keep an eye on world wide economic trends that point to globalism through a coming shake up in the world economy.

Is This the Future of America’s Churches?

Today we cover an intriguing article from Denver, Colorado about an “atheist church of free thinkers.” What is very interesting about the article is the words they use to describe their “community” are the same words that appeal to many young Christians these days: Free-thinking, questioning, skeptical, and conversational.

Is this the model for the future of church for our younger people? We discuss this with Dave Wager of Silver Birch ranch and Nicolet Bible Institute. Dave has worked with youth for 35 years.
