Deception is Rampant, but What is Truth?

In John 18:38, Pontius Pilate asks Jesus one of the single greatest questions of the entire Bible: “What is truth?” That question is just as important today. It might seem like a very simple question, but when we see how the definition of truth has been twisted and redefined these days, it is vital to clarify from the Word of God.

We are also seeing the subsequent trouble our culture and the church is in, so there is no greater challenge facing us today than to define truth as God defines it instead of following the world and changing the definition to feed our flesh.

Cindy Hartline of Love for the Truth Radio joins us this morning to discuss truth and how it has been redefined to fit the agenda of sinful man.

In our second segment, David Fiorazo has our weekly Media Watch segment as we help you see the clever deception of secular media and how they attempt to indoctrinate people into their agenda.

Reasons for Hope Despite Increased Attacks on Bible

Already in the first week of this month, we’ve heard about stories that reinforce the fact our culture, our country, and this world just seem to keep spinning out of control. The truth however, is that the God of the universe and author of Creation has never left his throne.

Disney is getting backlash over its recent promotion of LGBTQ agenda which features a gay moment in the new Beauty and the Beast, Satanists are seeking religious rights in America, a UK court considers reading the Bible out loud a criminal matter, and the radical Alinsky left in this nation is keeping its foot on the gas pedal of their anti-American agenda. There’s so much going on we must get back to the basics and remember who is in control.

Though the world and things around us appear to be falling apart, the Bible teaches us things are actually falling into place. Many solid pastors and ministry leaders in the committed remnant of true believers remind us we are living in the greatest times of biblical prophecy since Jesus walked the earth. We must hold loosely the things of this world as we set our hearts and minds on things above.

Today’s guest is Carl Kerby, the President of Reasons for Hope Inc. Carl shares his extensive knowledge and understanding of God’s creation. Providing answers for difficult questions, Carl inspires people to dig deeply into God’s Word to debunk the lies and myths that attack the Christian faith.

The Battle for Truth in Church and Culture

We must be undaunted in establishing God’s Word as the basis of our thinking, our faith, and our lives. There are many within the church who do not believe God’s Word in its entirety and do not believe in the deity of Jesus Christ. Truth is on the line here as we try to navigate a godless and rapidly changing culture.

Fake News and Christian Discernment

Charles Spurgeon once rightly said, “Discernment is not a matter of simply telling the difference between right and wrong; rather it is telling the difference between right and almost right.” Today, Pastor Randy White joins us to discuss discernment, fake news, and having the correct biblical perspective on our times and how to prepare for the challenging days our nation and church face.

A Widening Generational Gap Within Christianity?

Are we seeing this up and coming generation ushering in ideas principles that will change America and the professing Church in a very profound way? Jeff Strommen of HopeNet 360 joins us for a discussion on “generational differences.”

We’re also joined by Tim Chaffey of Midwest Apologetics to look at making certain when we “stand up for the truth” that we are standing on what the Bible says and not what we think it says.

Wisconsin Again: Election Recounts, Bible Studies, and Media Bias

It’s interesting how Wisconsin keeps coming up in the battles for political power. Julaine Appling of Wisconsin Family Council shares her thoughts on the matter and the process of this voter recount. What are the possibilities involving the numbers of votes in WI, MI, and PA, and how could this affect the presidential election? What do Democrats stand to gain?

Aside from corruption or fraudulent practices, it’s a long shot at best to somehow find enough votes or mistakes that would actually swing the results in favor of Hillary Clinton. Talk about drama.

Are We Prepared for Real Persecution in America?

Our Christian brothers and sisters around the world are facing increased persecution for their faith in Jesus Christ. But we here in America face limited discrimination and a soft persecution at worst. Are we spiritually prepared for the coming days when we are truly hated for the name sake of Jesus Christ? Is our professed Christian walk even worthy of hatred and persecution of the world? Or does our life blend in too closely with the lives of unbelievers? Don Veinot joins the program today.

This morning we look at recent studies showing increased hatred of Jesus Christ and His followers, and how Christians in America are being influenced more and more by secular humanist thought.

Church: Should I Stay or Should I Go?

In a world increasingly hostile to God and His Word, the importance of belonging to a strong, biblical church has never been greater. Sadly, an increasing number of churches seem to be looking for ways to compromise with secular culture in the hopes of growing their church. Many crucial, biblical issues are not being addressed for fear members might be offended and leave the church. But there are still many solid Christian churches out there who are staying true to God’s Word and refusing to give in to political correctness or conform to the world.

In our consumer driven mindset these days, we want what we want, when we want it. But has this mindset caused some to leave churches for the wrong reason? Is it all about us being fed and a church meeting our needs? What about serving the body of Christ? And how do we know when it might be time to find a new church, and what does a solid church look like?

Joining us today for an in depth look at the importance of strong Christian teachings and fellowship in the church is Pastor Randy White.

Follow the Money

When dealing with governments or political/social movements, ‘follow the money’ is usually sound advice when you want to know the real agenda. We consistently hear the latest scares about how the earth is heating to catastrophic levels, threatening humanity. This coming from the same people who warned us thirty years ago that we risked heading into a new “ice age” that would threaten to destroy us.

Many people believe the real issue is radical wealth redistribution leading to totalitarian world government or even population control. As we approach Earth Day this Saturday and the ant-scientific ‘March for Science,’ expect to hear grim warnings of where we are headed over CO2 emissions once again. Joining us to cut through the fog is Dr. Cal Beissner of The Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation.

We also look at the National Day of Prayer events that will be held on May 4 once again this year. While Christians gathering for prayer is a good thing, have some of them become nothing more than multi-faith events promoting Universalism? We’ll discuss that with the coordinators of our Green Bay area National Day of Prayer in our second segment this morning.

Clever, Dangerous Deception

In my latest book The Death of Christian Thought, I discuss how it is not the blatant lies that are most dangerous, but rather the clever deceptions of Satan and false teachers that are our greatest threat. Deception masked as truth is subtle, but very dangerous, slowly leading many away from the truth of God’s Word.

This morning we begin a discussion on an article by Tim Challies titled “7 False Teachers in the Church Today” that equips us to discern between truth and clever deception.

We also check in with Brad Dacus of the Pacific Justice Institute to discuss the many court cases and threats involving our religious freedom in America, especially the transgender movement.

Do Our Actions Betray Our Words?

It is much easier to say we believe something than it is to live it sometimes. We all say we trust God, or love our spouses, but do our actions continually support our verbal claims? According to the Bible, faith in Jesus Christ goes beyond mental assent; it is an unshakable belief of the mind and the heart: a complete, unwavering commitment to Him as our Lord and Savior.

Dave Wager of Nicolet Bible Institute joins us this morning to discuss the importance of living what we claim to believe.
