TODAY’S GUEST is popular author and speaker, Heidi St. John. She has been speaking on marriage, family and cultural issues for over 15 years, and her passion is to encourage moms to boldly become who God has created them to be. Heidi and her husband, Jay are homeschooling parents and live just outside of Vancouver, Washington.

Heidi is the author of seven books, her most recent being Bible Promises for Moms, and is the latest in the MomStrong collection (see photo below!). She has also recently released Prayers for the Battlefield: Staying MomStrong in the Fight for Your Family and Your Faith; and Becoming MomStrong: How to Fight With All That’s In You For Your Family and Your Faith.

WE DISCUSS the need for Christians to resist the fear and anxiety that are being peddled by the left and media (which are one and the same), and to prayerfully seek God’s guidance and purposes for us during this crazy time in America. We should be asking questions about ongoing social distancing! We need to trust the Lord and His sovereignty in this season of uncertainty, but we also must take action rather than give-in to those who aim to control our lives. So much to cover on today’s podcast!

Heidi recently said: “This is America. We better start getting brave if we want to remain the land of the free!”

“Have you noticed that culture is struggling today? Look around you. Where are the answers to the difficult questions we are facing? Where are God’s people?  …In a world that desperately needs Christians who will speak about their faith, we have become timid. And as the church has lost its voice, the world has lost its way. Jesus knew this would happen.

…It’s time for God’s people to find their voice. The hope we have in Jesus is the hope of the whole world:  an uncomplicated reconciling gospel that proclaims one thing: the healing work of the cross is still healing today.” -Heidi St. John

SCRIPTURES Referenced:

 Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways! Romans 11:33

For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. Colossians 1:16-17

“Let the name of God be blessed forever and ever,
For wisdom and power belong to Him.
21 “It is He who changes the times and the epochs;
He removes kings and establishes kings;
He gives wisdom to wise men
And knowledge to men of understanding.
22 “It is He who reveals the profound and hidden things;
He knows what is in the darkness,
And the light dwells with Him. Daniel 2:20-22

Let all the earth fear the Lord;
Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.
For He spoke, and it was done;
He commanded, and it stood fast.
10 The Lord nullifies the counsel of the nations;
He frustrates the plans of the peoples.
11 The counsel of the Lord stands forever,
The plans of His heart from generation to generation.
12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
The people whom He has chosen for His own inheritance. Psalm 33:8-12

“I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted.” Job 42:2

What the Book of Daniel Teaches Us About Living in Uncertain Times

It is one thing to say you believe in the sovereignty of God, it is another to live as if God were sovereign. There are no circumstances, situations, or crises outside of His rule! “The book of Daniel gives us lessons regarding the sovereignty of God that we need to believe and rest in. These lessons will comfort you in this unpredictable time, and grant you security of soul in a world of chaos…” Patrick Slyman
