What’s in a Name? Don’t be Fooled by the ‘Equality’ Act

Words matter, and the left knows exactly how to use positive-sounding terminology to push their godless agendas. They title their bills with words such as fairness, justice, progress, nondiscrimination, and in this case, “equality.” God is just, fair, and holy; but His law and truth is fixed, and He is no respecter of persons.

But what Liberals want to do is eliminate God, His word, and biblical morality from our culture and country. Why? Because Christianity is one of the only obstacles in their way of gaining complete power and control of practically every aspect of America. Understand this did not happen overnight. The left has become emboldened and we’re now seeing open hostility toward Christians. And these are the preachers of “tolerance.”

The First Amendment:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

The First Amendment guarantees freedoms concerning religion, expression, assembly, and the right to petition.  It forbids Congress from both promoting one religion over others and also restricting an individual’s religious practices. It guarantees freedom of expression by prohibiting Congress from restricting the press or the rights of individuals to speak freely.  It also guarantees the right of citizens to assemble peaceably and to petition their government.

Dobson: Dems using ‘Equality Bill’ to snuff out Christianity

Following the Democrats’ introduction of their proposed “Equality Act” that would grant the LGBTQ community even more special privileges while usurping Americans’ religious freedom, evangelical leader Dr. James Dobson warns that the legislation is a Trojan Horse that will ultimately keep Christians from living out their faith.

If the Equality Act is passed and enforced, Christians and other people of faith can expect to be silenced and essentially handcuffed when it comes to expressing and practicing their religious beliefs.

“The proposal – H.R. 5 and S. 788 – would provide special protections for the LGBT community throughout American society,” WND informed. “It would state that religious beliefs are not a defense in a dispute between gay rights and constitutionally protected religious rights.”

THE EQUALITY ACT VS RELIGIOUS FREEDOM

“The supporters of the Equality Act don’t want debate or discussion. The Equality Act is designed to effectively shut down debate about human sexuality, about gender, about same-sex attraction. That’s a national debate that we’ve actually never had.

To be as clear as I can, every single Christian needs to know how to talk about gender identity and sexual attraction in light of our larger rights to live out of our deepest convictions about God’s design for human sexuality and human flourishing.” Breakpoint

This effort did not start with the LGBTQ movement. It goes back to the 1960s:
