Did You Ever Imagine These Things Could Happen?

The response to our Listener shows on Fridays where we talk about your questions and comments has been overwhelmingly positive! It’s been great hearing from so many Christians every week, but is has now reached the point where we have continually been unable to get to all of the comments in a one hour Friday show. This has been a consistent pattern over the last several months and we typically carry them over to the next week. So in our second segment today, we will take some additional time to read your comments and answer your questions.

First, we will listen to and discuss a thought-provoking message from Jan Markell of Understanding the Times Radio titled “I Never Thought I Would See the Day.” This program just aired over the weekend across the country. We’ll also share our thoughts on the events and happenings in our lifetime that have been disappointing or shocking.

Tomorrow we will continue with YOUR comments and questions about: Billy Graham, gun control, Christian marriages, transgenderism, the political divide, Roman Catholic “last rites,” and believers being unequally yoked – to mention a few!

Religious Freedom Update, and the Death of Billy Graham

God’s Word instructs parents to raise their children based on His Word and principles. But as our beloved nation strays more and more from God there is a slow but steady movement to limit the free speech of Christians and raise our children as citizens of the world, void of Christian values. Through federal legislation supporting the United Nations’ attempt to indoctrinate our children, we are seeing the authority of parents undermined at every turn.

This morning we look at a few chilling court cases that underscore the agenda to indoctrinate our children and usurp parental authority over them. In our first segment we are joined by Brad Dacus of The Pacific Justice Institute to look the continuing attacks on Christians in America. Are we on the brink of losing our freedoms to raise our children in the way of the Lord and live by our Christian values?

We also touch on the breaking news of Billy Graham’s death. He passed away this morning at 99 years old.

The Subtlety & Danger of Liberation Theology

With so many subtle ways the enemy of our souls can trick and deceive us, one of the most powerful is taking something that sounds good and twisting it ever so slightly to make it appear biblical. In our final segment we look at one such subject: Liberation Theology, and how it is infiltrating Christian Churches all over the world.

We begin today covering a few news stories that directly impact us as believers including a school in Ohio fighting over the rights of students to pray, and a group of Christian leaders invoking the Bible to pressure President Trump on immigration. We also discuss public school transgender ideology, and coach Tony Dungy, a football commentator for NBC, who is under fire for his post-Super Bowl remarks about Nic Foles’ faith in Jesus Christ.

Disproportionate Reaction to Religions

There is an interesting dichotomy when we look at how two major religions–Christianity and Islam–are increasingly perceived and treated in our nation.

Biblical Christianity calls on us to love all people, even those who are directly opposed to and violate God’s Word. Islam calls for punishment and even death to classes of people such as homosexuals or those who call themselves “transgender”.

Biblical Christianity teaches that men should honor and cherish their wives; Islam teaches that wives are more like property than cherished partners. They can be beaten or divorced on a whim.

So which of these religions should be the one feared by women and homosexuals? Islam. Yet it continues to get a pass with feminists, the radical homosexual movement and the media, while Christianity is framed as a religion of hate and bigotry. Which religion is being kicked out of schools and shouted down in public? Christianity, while Islam is promoted celebrated in public schools and feminist circles.

Elijah Abraham, a former Muslim and now Evangelist and apologist for biblical Christianity joins us this morning to discuss this contradiction from reality.

More Division and Dysfunction Within the Church

Today we look at an important controversy within a Christian denomination. This is a legitimate controversy over an important doctrine: predestination. Does God predestine certain people for heaven or hell? Doesn’t man have a choice to confess, repent and submit to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior? Southern Baptists are grappling with this crucial question as New Reformed Calvinism makes an impact on many members of the denomination.

In our first segment, we check in with Tina Marie Griffin, the Counter Culture Mom to discuss dangers to our children in television, movies, music and video games. Topics today include virtual reality, the need for more Christian movies and video games, Facebook censorship, and a stern warning about one of the godless, offensive prime time TV shows. Also, were there satanic images in the background of the Super Bowl halftime show?

God is Love

In the book of 1 John, the writer tells us God is love. In fact He loves so perfectly that He provided every person the opportunity to be forgiven of our sins and to spend eternity with Him through the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ. Greater love than this the world has never known.

God loves all His creation, but does He love all men equally? Are we all “children” of God? And is God’s love and provision alone enough for mankind to spend eternity in Heaven? Pastor Mike Abendroth joins us to discuss the incomparable love of God.

In the third segment, we look at a huge settlement imposed on a Wisconsin School District because they allegedly ‘discriminated” against the bathroom wishes of a self-identified transgender student.

Coming Out of the Darkness of Liberal Thought

On today’s show we answer your questions and read your comments from this week. Several listeners have written in about how liberal, anti-biblical thought and dialogue seems to be taking over everywhere. Other subjects we will discuss include:

Islam being called an “Abrahamic Faith” by some pastors.

How can Christians support Donald Trump given his caustic personality?

Pastors and churches sitting on the sidelines instead of fighting secular culture and trends.

A husband and new Christian convert who is sending a lot of money to Word Faith organizations, and his wife’s concern that they are spiraling into financial ruin because of it.

And an email from a recovering liberal who is now seeking God’s truth in His Word with great vigor.

Eight Areas of Interest to Christians in 2018

Israel, America, Trump, ISIS, media bias, Planned Parenthood, Hollywood, technology, transgenderism, “tolerance,” and a lukewarm Christian church. Overall, 2017 was a faith-testing year for many of us. Good will continue being called evil and truth will continue to be attacked and redefined. If America stays on its current course down this destructive road where there is no longer objective truth or fixed standards of morality, we’re in big trouble. BUT GOD…

We don’t need to be news junkies, but we should be informed and knowledgeable so we can watch, pray, and be ready for whatever the Lord will bring in 2018. In no particular order, here are some key subjects to consider…

The Changing Face of America

Prior to becoming president, Barack Obama promised to “fundamentally transform the United States.” Whatever you think of the former president, he was true to his word and his administration sure did incite change on this nation. As a result, in just eight short years, today’s American culture, values, and public opinion have declined dramatically. Our great grandparents would hardly recognize the country they loved.

Is it even possible to reverse the “fundamental transformation” or is it permanent? Can our nation and church return to its traditional Judeo-Christian values that served us well for nearly 200 years?

Today’s guest has some interesting insights on these and other issues. Alex Nitzberg is a columnist and host of The Alex Nitzberg Show. He has studied American history and current trends in our nation, and joins us to discuss where we are headed and the influence the U.N. and LGBTQ movements have had on America.

Jerusalem, Prophecy, and the Return of Israel

Today we check in with Pastor Carl Gallups regarding world events including President Trump’s public recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, and the prophetic implications of this bold, historic move. We discuss these and other questions:

Should Jerusalem be the capital of modern-day Israel?

Is God’s hand on President Trump or on the United States?

Can God use anyone or anything to further His plans?

Chapters referenced: Zechariah 12, Ezekiel 38, Isaiah 45,

The mantra of the radical LGBTQ movement for years has been that they just want “equal treatment.” That statement is proving to be a lie as the movement goes out of its way to shut down or silence anyone who opposes their ungodly lifestyle. In this new case, a donut shop in Maine called “The Holy Donut” simply wanted to help a poor family over Christmas but was forced to stop because of attacks by LGBTQ radicals. The increasing level of threats against Christian business owners and individuals show that LGBTQ activists are influencing public opinion and gaining support for their tactics of intimidation.

Key Parables & Disturbing Spiritual Trends

Traditionally, European beliefs and culture are a precursor to what is going to happen in America. Today we look at some concerning trends of what a majority of the population in Europe believe regarding the Bible, heaven and hell, and gender. In our first two segments, we discuss the importance of the Parables used by Jesus to teach the people of His time. Why did Jesus speak in parables and what is he trying to tell us today as we read His Word? Joining us to discuss the context and importance of Jesus’ parables is Pastor Mike Abendroth of No Compromise Radio.

Addressing the Growing Crisis in Public Education

Last week, an expelled student known for erratic behavior and run-ins with police returned to his former High School in Florida and murdered 17 people. Predictably, the liberal media’s primary message and solution is “more gun control”—a simplistic response to a complex crisis. Rather than looking deeper at the spiritual, it is made a political, Democrat vs Republican issue, which I believe is irresponsible.

Instead of taking the time to understand the underlying causes for these tragedies, liberals continue to blame guns–inanimate objects that only do what the person holding them makes them do. Why does the left spout this continuing response to violence? Because the only alternative is to acknowledge that sinful man can be evil—a direct contradiction to their liberal and often atheist beliefs.

So what can be done? Dr. Randy White joins us to discuss public education issues as well as some possible solutions. Then we’ll tackle the latest fad hitting higher education in our nation: White privilege.

More discussion on Calvinism vs. Arminianism

The hypocrisy of Liberal Christianity

Worldview Matters: Truth or Consequences?

After thousands of years of constant attacks, opposition, and intense scrutiny by critics − warfare that no other work has ever seen − the Bible has withstood the onslaught, has gained credibility, and the Christian faith has continued to thrive throughout the world. Why?
No other written work has the power to convict people of their sin, the ability to change human nature, and offers a permanent solution to man’s greatest problem.

Consider the uniqueness of the Bible: a record of God’s message to His creation, miracles, history, an honest assessment of evil and the heart of man, unique claims, a plan of salvation, and a specific description and vision of the end times.
