God’s Word tells parents to raise their children by teaching them His Word. Believe it or not, the government-run education system in our nation actually started off using God’s Word as a foundation for teaching children about life. But over the past 50 – 75 years it has declined and shifted dramatically, focused now on raising them to be good “global citizens,” and be politically-correct and support the liberal worldview. Public schools today have an anti-Christian agenda, having completely set aside the Bible and Christian worldview.Mike and David look at how all evidence points to the fact the public education system has now become an enemy of God, and how parents can counter its destructive effects on our children. We discuss the Marxist agenda (Antonio Gramsci) and the steady, progressive march through America’s major institutions – starting with academia. As a result, Globalism is being implemented while discrimination against Christians who dare question the status quo increases. And when Christianity is removed from education or any part of our culture, other religions and lies are welcomed and promoted to our children.Read More
Satan and this fallen world has an agenda to conform us into its image. God also has an agenda. Disciples of Jesus Christ are to be transformed into His image in thought, word and deed. Obviously these are mutually exclusive agendas, so it’s difficult if not impossible to find a compromise between these conflicting agendas. Today we look at one of the powerful tools the enemy uses to advance his godless agenda: public education. Mike and David are joined by Dr. Duke Pesta of Freedom Project Media and the Dr. Duke Show to see how government-run schools and progressive universities are putting the squeeze on anyone who does not conform to its humanist views. We discuss the sad but not surprising news from the U.S. Senate vote Monday in which Democrats refused to even recognize that a baby surviving an abortion is entitled to life and medical care. We also look at the decision made yesterday by the divided United Methodist Church regarding its stance on same-sex marriage and LGBTQ clergy.Read More
There is a growing schism going on in within Christianity in America. It has been slow and subtle, but it is reaching the point where serious disciples of Jesus Christ are starting to take notice. This schism is centered around two important points:
Is the Christian walk about salvation, or holiness?
The Church’s relationship with the world.
Jesus warned that many who called Him “lord” would be condemned to eternal hell. Jesus and the Apostles warned that a great apostasy would infect the professing church in the days leading up to the Lord’s return. The Bible is clear that evil would grow exponentially in the final days and that Christians are to be a unique, holy people set aside for the glory of God. This means the true Church of Jesus Christ should be increasingly contradictory to the teachings and behaviors of this wicked world. Instead, some churches are intent on looking more like the world.
Mike and Crash discuss this great schism and how Christians who are serious about pursuing holy living can determine if they are in a church that is increasingly unique, or one that is conforming to the world.Read More
Every week we receive so many great comments and questions from listeners to Stand Up for the Truth. We’ll get to as many as we can today!
Question of the week: What are your thoughts on the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) having Nancy Pelosi speak to Christian college leaders recently?
A few responses: “one of the many reasons I no longer call myself Evangelical,” “What could she even remotely bring of value to a discussion?” “That’s like having an atheist preach from the pulpit,” and “I think the NAE needs to share the gospel with Nancy Pelosi and the importance of repentance and obeying God’s Word.”
We also share a stirring testimony from a Christian woman that had an abortion years ago and kept it to herself. Now after all this time she has received the forgiveness and healing of Jesus, and has been encouraging the body of Christ to stop being silent on this pivotal issue.
We also discuss:
Home churches: when is it time to consider leaving your seeker-sensitive or unbibilcal church?
What has happened to rational, respectful debate and dialogue?
Pastors that rarely ever preach on the Old Testament
What does it mean to enter into the rest of God, Hebrews 4?
I received a phone call earlier this week from a listener asking me if I could take a few minutes and give the “big picture” of what I am seeing in our nation and the warning message I am trying to deliver. So here goes:
America, founded on Judeo-Christian law and principles, has abandoned that foundation over the past 50 years. God has been kicked out of our schools and government; we have murdered more than 60 million babies in the womb; we have redefined marriage; and we have told God that He is flawed in how He created us—that just because he created us male or female that he had no right to do that since we should be able to choose ourselves the gender we prefer.
America has gone from a Christian nation to an “Anti-Christ nation”. And while we should use our freedom of speech and religious expression, along with our voting power, to try to reverse the slide of this once-great nation, we must accept the inevitability of what the Bible forecasts: That one day soon every nation will turn on Israel and against God in defiance. There is no “USA” exclusion in the Word of God…Read More
Mike and David look at a joint statement from Evangelical and Catholic leaders condemning New York’s expanded abortion law. But is making a strong statement enough if it is not backed up by righteous action? Instead of merely condemning the actions of New York legislators, should churches start to hold church members accountable if they approve of abortion or continue to support political candidates that endorse the slaughter of innocent children in the womb? Should church discipline be used to make a strong statement to church members about this crucial biblical issue?
In our first two segments, we look at sexuality, gender and marriage according to God’s Word. No surprise that polls show a majority of people in our nation who call themselves Christians approve of homosexual marriage, and an increasing number actually believe that a person’s gender could be “fluid,” insinuating that perhaps God made mistakes – if He in fact did create us. Pastor Randy White joins us to bring us back to the fundamentals of God’s Word regarding sexuality, gender, marriage and family.Read More
Where’s our common sense? Doesn’t this attract pedophiles, child molesters and rapists? Why are so many adults just going along with all this? Evil is being called good.
Some of us saw this coming years ago, but how did we get to the point of openly sexualizing innocent children – and promoting it as acceptable? Things that were once unthinkable have become mainstream.Read More
Mike and David read your questions and comments, but open with a commentary on the disgusting actions of the State of New York that will kill more babies and American Christianity’s collective cowardice in standing up for the lives of unborn children.
When “The State” thumbs its nose at God and proudly passes a law that will murder more children created in the image of God, and American Christianity Churches continue in their ringing silence and failure to stand up for those children, is the “church” becoming part of the problem rather than the solution?Read More
In Romans chapter one, Paul explains that since men reject the truth of God, He turns them over to a reprobate mind to think and do evil in astounding ways. Their rejection and hatred of God fuels them to believe and do unthinkable evil.
Sixty million murdered children in mother’s wombs in the U.S.; homosexual marriage legalized; and gender dysphoria accepted as “normal” with the government paying for people to try to change their gender (something medical science says is quite impossible), all point to a collective depravity in a nation established under God’s Laws and moral principles. And in the meantime, American Christianity gladly allows secular culture to infiltrate and influence her to the point that churches and their members look more like the world than a unique, holy people.
Gary Kah of Hope For the World joins us to talk about these issues and discuss globalism, Israel, the political divide in the U.S., and a report that President Trump will be unveiling a peace plan for the Middle East that seems to have Israeli officials very nervous.Read More
Here are some of the questions and comments from this past week:
The large company I am applying for proudly supports the LGBTQ agenda and contributes to related causes. I was excited about the opportunity before I learned this, but now am conflicted. What do you think?
My daughter just told me she is bisexual and I’m in shock. She grew up in church, went to a private Christian school and attends a Christian college. What angers me is the church generally accepts LGBTQ lifestyles now.
Please clarify a Scripture you shared on a recent podcast, 1 John 4:3 about spirits that deny Jesus came in the flesh and are not of God.
You said American Christianity is looking more like Babylon these days than the church Jesus shed His blood to redeem. I sense this as well but could you expound on it please?
Here in Canada, we don’t have anything like your show and the sell-out by the church to government has already happened. Please continue warning Americans!
My husband and I are heartbroken. Our 12 year-old son just announced he is really a woman. We’re completely caught off guard and don’t even know how to confront this.
Many Christians in America are asking that question these days as we see a growing number of churches change. The Gospel of reconciliation being replaced with consumerism and our “best life now”; moves of the Holy Spirit being replaced with emotional manipulation through loud music and fog machines; and churches that look more and more like the world Jesus told us would hate us and that we should hate.
But the changes introduced into American Christianity have been so subtle that many people do not even notice them until one day we suddenly feel like a stranger and alien in the very church we attended for years.
Jan Markell of Olive Tree Views and Understanding the Times Radio joins us to talk about the growing concerns of serious Christians about what they see happening in many of our churches these days.Read More
The American Psychological Association recently released a study calling out what it perceives as the dangers of traditional masculinity warning that it leads men to hating women and LGBTQ people. As men are “marketed” to by corporate America we see confusing messages on what it means to be a man these days.
Are we to be the strong, silent, rugged, macho guy? Or the sensitive, nurturing, submissive guy who sits back quietly and just accepts things the way they are?
If we listen to the world we will be continually confused about what it means to be a man. But not surprisingly God’s Word has a lot to say about what real men are.
This morning, Mike discusses this issue with Dave Wager of Nicolet Bible Institute. What does it mean to be a man of God in today’s world?
We also look at an interesting perspective from a Christian musician who says that youth these days are being conditioned to worship their own self-image, and since the world is sending wrong messages to our youth about what their image should look like it is leading to dire consequences for an entire generation.Read More
Pyrite is a mineral made up primarily of iron that looks like gold, thus it’s nickname of “fool’s gold.” It looks like valuable gold but in reality, it is generally useless and of little to no value.
As America continues celebrating godlessness and too many members of churches fail to look significantly different than the secular culture taking over this nation. A growing number of churches and professing Christians are holding “fool’s gold” thinking it will save them when they stand before Jesus Christ as judge, only to find out what they hold is useless and even abhorrent before our Lord and Savior.
Elijah Abraham is a former Muslim and now born-again believer who travels around the world proclaiming the gospel, teaching pastors, and equipping believers who face constant threats of persecution. He shares insights about what he has witnessed with believers here in America compared to churches in countries where persecution is often a way of life. Elijah points out the lack of maturity, discipleship, and sound doctrine in too many American churches.Read More
In our final segment today we look at the increasing evil and godlessness of our world, our nation, and how Christians must stand out as light and salt. Jesus said the greatest commandment is that we love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, and mind. The second is that we love our neighbor as we love ourselves. Biblical Christianity is all about relationships in a world that is broken, decimated by sin, and needs to be reconciled to God.
How do we as disciples of Jesus Christ develop truthful, loving relationships with other believers as well as those still imprisoned in darkness? Pastor Randy White joins Mike and David to discuss relationships according to the Bible.Read More
The Bible is clear that there will be many false teachers leading people astray in the final years, and many professing Christians will be part of this final apostasy. It also tells us we should avoid anyone who teaches a gospel contrary to the Bible’s teaching. But Paul also tells us to bear with one another as believers; standing up for truth, but also not allowing insignificant divisions to cause problems. The problem is that we are not always clear about what is a significant or insignificant division within Christianity.Francis Chan has been on a very interesting journey over the past few years. He resigned as pastor of the mega-church he founded and went on a personal sabbatical. He has returned and finds himself in a growing controversy surrounding his criticism of American Christianity as well as his recent appearances at IHOP and alongside Todd White and Benny Hinn. Really? So where does Chan really stand on doctrine? Mike, David, and Crash look at the controversy and discuss the difficulties in being discerning Christians without jumping to conclusions or branding those we disagree with a “heretic” or “apostate.”ARTICLESRead More
Our world is in the midst of a social and political upheaval that is threatening institutions and confusing a lot of people. And many think this is a well planned series of events to lead mankind to seek a “savior” who will bring up peace and tranquility. The Bible warns us of such a man and calls him “Anti-Christ”.
Gary Kah of Hope for the World Ministries joins Mike and Crash to discuss the rapid move toward globalization and how Christians can prepare for the coming persecution the Bible warns us about.Read More
We often discuss how radical liberalism is eventually exposed and dismissed because of its obvious self-defeating contradictions. In their zeal to develop more and more “protected classes” of people, they eventually run into a contradiction they cannot reconcile with their attempts to make everyone feel like a victim. This morning we look at liberals and feminists along with conservative women in pushing back against the awful “Equality Act” introduced by House Democrats that would impose national protections and special rights to those who identify as transgender. We also look at a growing number of Catholics who are now considering leaving their church because of the wide ranging sexual abuse scandals within their church. In our first segment we talk with Preston Condra, of Sufficient Word Publishing, about his new book aimed at helping parents explain the gospel to their children and helping them develop a biblical world view as they head into the dangerous waters of public education.Read More
