The Changing Role of a Pastor

The Changing Role of a Pastor

Vibrant, bible teaching churches are needed more than ever but are so very hard to come by. We need wisdom, biblical knowledge and understanding of God. We also need to show our nation the dangerous path we are on as a nation and people.  But many churches seem intent on conforming to the ways of this world instead of transforming lives by the power of God’s Word.  At a time when we need clear biblical direction we seem to often be lacking in in a growing number of churches.

It usually starts with leadership – pastors who preach the Word and set the example for the flock.  Our guest, Pastor Randy White, joins us to discuss how pastors are being educated and influenced in today’s Christian Seminaries and Bible Colleges, and why that needs to change if we are going to see a true spiritual
l revival in the church and our nation.

Comments & Questions: A ‘Red Flag’ to Watch

On Fridays we discuss your comments and answer your questions – always looking to God’s Word. Several of you have written in about potential gun control laws and the possible threat of disarming the general public. Should Christians obey such a law? Also:

When pastors tell too many stories or analogies during a sermon, does it take away from God’s Word?

The Jewish concept of “Minyan”- not “minion” as used in different contexts.

Are we on the verge of Christian persecution in America and are Christians and churches prepared spiritually?

Would You Give Up Your Life for Christ? Persecution Update

In spite of all the violence in America, and a growing hatred for God and His Word, we are still very blessed as Christians to be Americans because of the religious freedoms we have.  That could be changing. But we have not yet suffered to the point of torture or death for our faith in Jesus Christ.

The same cannot be said for millions of Christians suffering around the world, whose very freedom and life are in danger because of their faith in Jesus Christ.  Todd Nettleton of Voice of the Martyrs joins us to look at our brothers and sisters in Christ around the world who remain faithful to Jesus despite imprisonment, torture and even martyrdom.   Will we be as
faithful to Christ if and when it comes to our shores?

Is God Beginning to Separate the Wheat from the Chaff?

Is God Beginning to Separate the Wheat from the Chaff?

Every time a well-known Christian renounces their faith, we need to remember that God never changes and His Word is still truth! Recently two more prominent believers fell away: Christian Author Joshua Harris, who wrote important books on sexual purity and dating for Christians, and a young leader of Hillsong Music, Marty Harris. Both announced they are no longer Christians.  In our final segments we will look at closer at this pattern of growing apostasy within professing Christianity.

In our first segment, we are joined by Mike Levenhagen of Reclamation Resource Center. He joins us to discuss his journey out of homosexuality by God’s grace, and how we can minister to those suffering with any sinful sexual attraction as well as gender confusion.

America in Crisis: Have We Reached a Tipping Point?

America in Crisis: Have We Reached a Tipping Point?

To those of us who are older, seasoned Christians perhaps, we see an America today little like we experienced growing up.  Certainly there were problems throughout our history, but nothing like we witness today.  Moral decay, including the murder of 60,000,000 million children through abortion; a public education system that is in lock step with anti-god globalists; a media with no sniff of objectivity and in the tank for the far left; as well as a political party, the Democrats, that has completely sold out to global corporate interests and the radical LBGTQ lobby.

We live in a nation where both our religious freedoms and right to bear arms are increasingly under attack.

Pastor and best-selling author, Carl Gallups joins us to discuss just where America might be headed.  He brings a unique perspective as a pastor, biblical scholar, and former Law Enforcement Official.  Where are we headed and can this slide toward totalitarian government be averted?  If not, what are the responsibilities of disciples of Jesus Christ toward a government that sees us as a threat to its power?

Apathy or Apologetics: What Can Christians Do?

Apathy or Apologetics: What Can Christians Do?

A series of recent surveys asked youth who they trust for advice on important moral and practical decisions.  Police, government, and even parents were on the list.  But what was at the top?  College Professors! This is obviously bad news for them, our country, and the Christian Church since the vast majority of College professors are progressive at best and anti-Christian and pro-socialism at worst.

Parents really have their work cut out for them today. Christian kids need a solid foundation of truth and a biblical worldview. Unless things change, things will only grow worse for our nation and the Church in America.

Dr. Mark Eckel of Ratio Christi Ministries joins Mike and David for a discussion on how to reach people with truth from Scripture when many are seeking answers in all the wrong places.

Affirming the Truth of God’s Word

Affirming the Truth of God’s Word

If you listen to atheists, secularists and even some who claim to be Christians, you might think the Bible is nothing more than a bunch of man-made stories, full of confusion and contradictions.  But in reality, it is the only thing we can look to for lasting truth.  God – who has always existed and always will exist, knows all things past, present and future, and is the only one who can speak absolute truth.  But even within many self-professed born-again believers there is doubt over the truth of the Bible.

How can we know for sure that the Bible is true?  Pastor Jeff Solwold of Calvary Chapel in Madison, Wisconsin joins us to share how we can know and trust the truth God has given us in His Word.  You can hear Pastor Solwold’s teachings at 5am weekdays on our flagship station, Q90 FM.

In our final segment we talk about how the liberal media, whether it be television or social media, can no longer be trusted to report actual news and have all fallen into camps of propaganda for their political and cultural biases.

Assumptions Can Be Dangerous

Assumptions Can Be Dangerous

The dictionary defines an assumption as, “assuming something is true or taking a statement for granted.”  When we believe something important is truth, and base our life and entire belief system around it only to find out the assumption was wrong, it changes the way we see everything.  Sadly, too often in public education and media we are being led to assume certain false beliefs and philosophies are true, and this deception affects how we view God and life itself.

Our guest today is David Richardson, author of “Transparent: How to See Through the Powerful Assumptions that Control You.”  We discuss three types of “assumers” and how their assumptions either lead them to truth or deception.

Who are the Nephilim?

Who are the Nephilim?

Genesis 6:1-4 are very controversial verses to many Christians.  They deal with a group called the “Nephilim” and they have been the center of controversy and various biblical interpretations for thousands of years.

Tim Chaffey has written a new book on these fascinating creatures, attempting to answer many questions Christians have about the Nephilim.  Were they fallen angels or simply sinful men?  What did they do and why?  And if they are fallen angels have we heard the last from them?
