The One Who Can Fix Our Problems in Public Education

In our final segment today we offer a solution to the Public Education mess we see as discussed from the crisis at Washington Middle School in Green Bay. The solution is simple, but not easy. It will require qualities sadly lacking these days: courage and conviction.

First up, we are joined by Brad Dacus of The Pacific Justice Institute to discuss legal cases threatening the religious freedom and conviction of Christians in our nation. Even his organization has been labeled a ‘hate’ group’ by the radical Southern Poverty Law Center. Has the Progressive/Marxist juggernaut grown so strong that it is inevitable? If not, what can we do to fight it and restore biblical principles in our nation?

The Persecution of Jack Phillips

This fall the U.S. Supreme Court will hear the case of Colorado baker Jack Phillips who has been fined, attacked, and harassed because as a Christian, he chose to follow his religious conscience and not bake a cake for a gay couple’s wedding. He is now receiving death threats. This will be a landmark decision with huge implications for freedom of speech and religious expression.

We cannot count on the secular news media to accurately give the details and ramifications of this crucial case. Media has sold out to the progressive agenda and LGBTQ movement and will probably spin things to make Jack Phillips look like some sort of hateful monster.

So today we take a look at the history and ramifications of the pending decision by the Supreme Court. If Phillips loses, how will the landscape change for Christian business owners and ministries? And will a defeat lead to churches being intimidated in a variety of ways?

We Love America, But We Have Deep Concerns

In our final segment today I respond to an email from a listener accusing us of being judgmental and hypocritical in our assessment of secular media and our claim that Jesus will judge unrepentant sinners one day.  Our third segment should give great insight into how progressives think these days and how we respond with truth.

Pastor Randy White joins us to discuss America’s past, present and future as we prepare to celebrate our nation’s independence day.  The nation we love and are still blessed to live in has some serious problems that need to be addressed if we are to remain the land of the free and the home of the brave.  And the most serious of all is turning our backs on God and His perfect law and teachings. We discuss a sermon Randy gave on what he would like to say to the USA.

The Growing Hatred Against Biblical Christianity

Jesus clearly warned His disciples that the world would hate them because they hated Him first. His statement was true in the first century church and is truer than ever in the 21st century. This morning we cover a couple news stories that show just how far that hatred has gone.

One liberal columnist now says Christianity is “white supremacy disguised as religion”. And a woman has developed a new “LGBT Bible App” promoting “inclusiveness” within the church.

We also check in with William Murray of the Religious Freedom Coalition to discuss the plight of Christians in Iraq and Syria, and how Marxism has infiltrated American and even Christian thought.

Religious Freedom Hanging in the Balance

When the U.S. Supreme Court legalized homosexual marriage in 2015, some of us predicted that the real issue was not same-sex “marriage,” but rather a full out war on silencing Christians and forcing people to accept and celebrate an anti-biblical agenda. Well, a lot of people dismissed our prediction as “fear mongering.” But fast forward just two years later and we are seeing a persistent attack on the speech and freedoms of Christians, and a legal and propaganda campaign to marginalize Christian thought, beliefs, and conscience.

Today we cover some high-interest news stories on just how critical things are getting. In the first segment, we check in with Doug Wakefield of Best Minds, Inc. to see how economically we are walking into bondage by ignoring the signs of an imminent world-wide financial meltdow

Assaults on Religious Liberty and Free Speech

Europe and the Middle East have been ravaged by Islamic terrorism with attacks coming on almost a daily basis. All the while citizens exclaim, “What can the government do about it?” In Europe, under pressure from governments, social media organizations like Google, Facebook, Microsoft and Twitter are sponsoring a forum to “purge terrorists from their pages, videos and posts.” On the surface this might seem like a viable plan, but perhaps first we should learn what their definition of “terrorist” is, because some consider so-called hate speech to be terrorism. Those same people consider the teachings of God’s Word as hate speech.

Joining us this morning to discuss the attack on religious liberty and freedom of speech is Brad Dacus of Pacific Justice Institute, an organization dedicated to protecting religious liberties for Christians.

Abandoned Faith: A Lost Generation?

There have always been problems with communication and understanding between generations. Every younger generation that comes along is viewed with skepticism by more elderly generations. But the gap in communication and understanding between today’s millennials and older people is in some ways like nothing we have ever experienced.

While it might be easy to just think they’ll grow out of it, it is important to understand that this younger generation faces serious challenges many of us have not faced; and they been raised in a public education system and media presence that has caused them to become skeptical about life as a whole.

We’re joined by a Christian apologist, researcher and author who has studied millennials extensively: Dr. Alex McFarland. He has written a new book Abandoned Faith: Why Millennials Are Walking Away and How You Can Lead Them Home, about the questions and struggles of millennials and how we can reach them with the truth and hope of Jesus Christ.

Religious Freedom Slipping Away

Today we cover two court cases that could have permanent damaging effects on religious freedom for Christians in America. They are blatant attempts to muzzle Christians by restricting how they can earn a living and provide for their families. If Progressives are victorious in these court cases, religious freedom as we have known it will become a thing of the past.

We’re also joined by Tina Maria Griffin of Counter Culture Mom to discuss the growing influence of Hollywood, television and video games on our children and how we protect them.

The Great Deception of Media, Public Education and Fake Christianity

The Bible warns us that in the final days deception would become so rampant and powerful that many would abandon biblical Christianity for a world-wide system based on Humanism, elevating the thinking of mankind and dismissing God and His Word. Over the past 20-30 years the face of media, public education, and even the Church in America has changed so radically that it looks nothing like to used to. And the sad truth is in the here and now, Secular Humanism is winning the hearts and minds of many youth–youth that will one day lead this nation and our local churches.

Our guest today is Don Venoit of Midwest Christian Outreach as we take a sobering look at the decay of American culture and thought, along with the many problems facing the Christian Church in America.

Ducking the Issue of Sin: the Easy Way Out

We are losing ground by being silent. It’s gotten to the point when someone mentions sin in public, there is typically sharp disagreement, intense debate, or accusations of hate and intolerance. Why? We just don’t hear much about sin anymore. A central part of the gospel message by which we are saved, many church leaders today talk less and less about sin and its consequences. Sadly, Christians have been following their example.

We cannot keep ducking the issue of sin and expect the church and our country to change for the better. We cannot justify the path of least resistance or worse, the approval of sin any longer. Many lives are at stake. If we want to obey the Lord’s instructions and make the biggest impact, there is only one choice: we must speak up…

Prayer, Media Watch, & Religious Freedom

Today is The National Day of Prayer. Thousands will be gathered around America feeling called to pray for our nation. But just how should we pray for America–a nation that is continuing down the politically correct path to destruction? Even many professing believers deny its Judeo-Christian principles by turning its back on the truth of God and His Word.

Has America and its leaders become a stubborn, stiff-necked people unwilling to repent and return to God and His ways? Is there still hope? What about religious freedom and legislation that discriminates against Christians when laws were passed to give certain groups special, not equal, rights? What should we be praying for today and from this point on?

Julaine Appling of Wisconsin Family Action joins us to day to discuss the importance of prayer and action to address the growing apostasy in our nation.

The Cesspool of American Culture

If you are old enough to remember life in America in the 1950s and 60s, you would remember the culture of entertainment was much different back then. You could actually watch television with your children without fear of them being bombarded with messages of perversion, violence, and overt sexuality. And you also trusted your public school to actually teach math, science, and history without indoctrinating your children into believing evolution, becoming little earth muffins, hating America, or being encouraged to explore sexuality in ways contradictory to biblical morality. As they say, those were the good old days.

But today our youth are inundated with sexual perversion and godless worldviews at every turn. It is a sad reality that the influence of parents wanting to raise their children with Christian values has become more and more difficult.

Joining us to discuss the filth that passes for entertainment, and the blatant systematic brainwashing of our children is Tina Marie Griffin of Counter Culture Mom.

Discernment or Self-Destruction?

This morning on Stand Up For the Truth we read your comments and answer your questions from this week.  One central theme is discernment issues within Christianity.  Are we using proper biblical discernment or engaging in prideful witch hunts, looking to discredit others who we disagree with?  Also, several have chimed in regarding young people seeking “community” outside the confines of church. We discuss these and other topics of interest today.

First up, David covers our weekly Media watch segment, answering this question:  Why does secular media dedicate so much time to covering issues Americans say they don’t care about?

Controversial Issues in the Christian Church

Families and societies operate best when there are fixed standards of morality to guide our actions. In our nation, we were established upon the rule of law, supposedly giving us clear instruction what is acceptable or unacceptable behavior. As Christians we are guided by God’s Word which sets the ultimate standard for morality and acceptable behavior for us. But what happens when “normal” becomes subjective to personal feelings?

In the first segment today, we check in with Doug Wakefield of Best Minds, Inc. to keep an eye on world wide economic trends that point to globalism through a coming shake up in the world economy.

Is This the Future of America’s Churches?

Today we cover an intriguing article from Denver, Colorado about an “atheist church of free thinkers.” What is very interesting about the article is the words they use to describe their “community” are the same words that appeal to many young Christians these days: Free-thinking, questioning, skeptical, and conversational.

Is this the model for the future of church for our younger people? We discuss this with Dave Wager of Silver Birch ranch and Nicolet Bible Institute. Dave has worked with youth for 35 years.
