The Spirit of Antichrist

1 John 4:1-3: “Beloved do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already.”

Matter settled: Islam is a spirit of antichrist because it denies that Jesus is God in the flesh…so why are so many professing Christians believing that Christians and Muslims worship the same god?

Elijah Abraham, a former Muslim and now born-again believer sheds some light on this deception.

In our final segment we look at the continuing hypocrisy of the left regarding freedom of speech and religious expression.

Are We Truly Living for the Glory of God?

In Matthew 15:7-9, Jesus pointed out the hypocrisy of the Pharisees by saying:

“You hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you when he said: ‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.”

The first step for us as born-again Christians is to admit that we speak and act like hypocrites far too often. The second step is to be committed to allowing the grace and Spirit of God to bring our hypocrisy to an end as we grow in the knowledge and grace of Jesus Christ. Because of the continuing sinful nature within us and the pressures in this world that will be a life long battle, but one we should be committed to fighting.

How often do we damage our testimony and witness to lost people when we behave in a way that contradicts the Word of God? Does your spouse and children see a different you compared to the one people see when you’re in church? Do we want enough of God’s grace to be saved; but not enough to be sanctified and made holy?

Dave Wager of Nicolet Bible Institute and Silver Birch Ranch is here to help us look internally at our hearts and the hypocrisy we too often display.

The Ongoing Hypocrisy of Hillsong

Hillsong Pastor Carl Lentz recently appeared on The View and was asked if his church considered abortion a sin. In typical neutral fashion one would expect from Lentz, he refused to answer directly and a handful of Christian leaders have called him out on his cowardice. With a chance to passionately share the gospel of repentance, stand up for the truth of God’s Word, and explain teachings on sin, forgiveness, and restoration for sinners who confess and believe in Christ’s sacrifice, Lentz instead caved into his own personal god: Celebrity status and popularity.

Well, now after publicly pleasing man (or the women and their audience on The View), Lentz is backpedaling. But his statements reveal his true heart on the matter. We will share more and discuss the debacle on today’s podcast.

In our first segment, we follow up again with Julaine Appling of Wisconsin Family Council to hear her insights and discuss ways the State of Wisconsin might intervene after the disastrous decision of the De Pere City Council on Tuesday evening.

Transgender Cult Advances in De Pere, Wisconsin – And Your City is Next

The City of De Pere, Wisconsin passed an “anti-discrimination” bill last night by a 5-4 margin. We have been discussing the potential concerns and dangers of these ordinances but too many people seem to be arguing from emotion and public opinion rather than from a perspective of truth and fact. The council also did not allowing any change to the broad language regarding religious exemptions. In our second segment today I will share my observations from last night’s meeting that will give insight as to exactly what transpired last night as well as the potential effects this could have not only on Christian churches and ministries but on the average small business.

In our first segment, we catch up with Tina Marie Griffin, Counter Culture Mom, as we look at several concerning items: raunchy “suggested reading” in public schools, successful Christian and family-friendly movies, Hollywood’s porn and sexual perversion problem, and how to protect your children from “soul pollution.”

Preparing to Defend our Christian Freedoms

Tonight, the City of De Pere, Wisconsin will hear public comments on its “non-discrimination” proposal that would radically change the landscape of religious freedom in the community. To our national audience, do not make the mistake thinking this is only about a small community in the Midwest: The battle is headed your way if it is not already there.

In our second segment this morning, Julaine Appling of Wisconsin Family Council joins us to weigh in on the proposal. Julaine and her organization have witnessed this battle in communities state-wide and warns of the hidden dangers in this legislation for religious freedom and for churches.

In our first segment, we are joined by Eric Hovind of Creation Today to discuss their new movie release: “Genesis: Paradise Lost” opening in theaters around the nation next week. Go to GenesisMovie.com to get tickets or to see if it’s playing near you.

Non-discrimination Laws, Evangelism, and the Texas Church Shooting

Tuesday evening (tomorrow) the DePere, Wisconsin City Council will consider passing legislation that could have chilling effects and legal ramifications for Christian Churches, businesses and ministries.  The proposed legislation is quite broad regarding protections for transgender individuals when it comes to housing, employment and services provided.

I have heard from a lot of people commenting on this and asking what exactly is in the proposed bill.  We have discussed it with the Wisconsin Family Council and Alliance Defending Freedom; both are warning that it could have very negative effects on churches and Christian business owners who desire to glorify God and stand on His Word.  The proposed bill allows a limited religious exemption regarding housing, but does little to nothing to protect Christian organizations in the areas of employment or choosing what services to provide to those who identify as transgenders.

In our second segment, we share excerpts from the proposed legislation and help you get beyond the public bluster and emotion so you can assess the content and intent of the bill.

In segment three, we discuss the tragic murder of 26 Christians attending a Baptist church in Texas yesterday.

First up, we visit with Bill Adams of Sports Fans Outreach International about their efforts to share the gospel at local and national sporting events – including the upcoming Super Bowl in Minneapolis.

Willow Creek Pastor Bill Hybels to Retire; Names Successor

Founding and Senior Pastor Bill Hybels has announced his retirement effective October, 2018. He will remain as “founding pastor” and oversee the expansion of Willow Creek’s Association that provides services and resources to churches and also the Willow Creek Leadership Summit.

Hybels and Willow Creek are no strangers to controversy. The WC Leadership Summit has elevated people like Bill Clinton, Rob Bell and several corporation executives as “leaders to emulate” even though many of them are not even Christians and support homosexual marriage and abortion. Some people believe this is incorporating the ways of the world into the church.

His wife Lynne openly opposes the nation of Israel through “Christ at the Checkpoint,” criticizing Israel while giving a pass to the terrorist organizations who kill in the name of Allah. In typical controversial fashion, Hybels is going out with a bang: he has named Heather Larsen his successor to the lead pastor position having the title of Executive Pastor.

Many of you have weighed in on this so we discuss it in the first segment today and then get to more listener questions and comments.

Trafficking and Profiting from Hate

We have reached a time in America where speaking the truth, no matter how gently done, is called hateful. If you speak out against the facts in the Quran, you hate Muslims. Speak about God’s definition of marriage, and you hate homosexuals. Share what the Bible says about gender being assigned at birth and permanent – even though secular science confirms this truth – and you hate transgenders. Speak up and defend life, and you hate women.

There is big money and power in screaming “hate speech” every time the progressive agenda is challenged or the Bible is referenced out loud. Today, we look at a thought provoking commentary on how the business of hate is consuming our nation.

In our first segment, we check in with Pastor Randy White and continue our discussion on how the Old Testament of the Bible is increasingly overlooked or discarded, even by many professing Christians. Is our growing ignorance of God’s wisdom and proclamations of the Old Testament causing problems in our spiritual growth as Christians and effectiveness as a church?

Fearing God. Exactly What Does that Mean?

Proverbs 9:10 states: “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.” But what exactly does the Bible mean when it says we are to fear God? Does it mean that even as His adopted children we expect Him to punish us every time we disobey Him? Or that the moment we disobey Him, He will rescind His promise to those who confess, repent and place our complete faith and trust in Jesus Christ?

Dave Wager of Silver Birch Ranch and Nicolet Bible Institute joins us to discuss what a healthy and accurate fear of God looks like, and why “the fear of the Lord” is seen as an antiquated belief even among professing Christians.

Gospel Opportunities, Halloween, and Good News in the NFL?

The first century Christian Church was well aware of what God wanted them to do and why they were still in this world. They knew for a fact Jesus was alive and they believed the return of Christ was imminent. They also knew it was their responsibility to share the gospel with as many people as possible in the hope they would repent and accept forgiveness and salvation through Jesus Christ. And while many were wrong about the timing of His return, their passion for the gospel led many into the eternal Kingdom of Heaven.

Here’s a heart check for us: how is our level of passion and commitment for the gospel? Do we understand the true purpose God has us in this world? Or is it more about finding God’s “special purpose” for our lives these days? If we truly believe what the Bible teaches, that people who do not surrender to God and submit themselves to the lordship of Jesus Christ will spend eternity separated from Him in hell, then why are we so timid about sharing the good news with our family, friends and neighbors?

Jay Seegert of The Starting Point Project joins us to discuss why Christians seem afraid or are hesitant to share the Gospel. We also look at #GreenBayPacker’s quarterback, #AaronRodger’s broken collarbone from a spiritual perspective, knowing God allows things to happen in our lives to bring us back to Him.

A Famine in the Land

In the book of Amos (8:11) God gives us this chilling warning: “Behold the days are coming when I will send a famine on the land; not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord.”

Now let’s take a moment to connect some dots: Jesus said the Word of God is the eternal bread that man must live on; and if a famine of hearing His Word is descending upon us than many will be doomed because of their rejection of the truth of God. As we see a growth in professing Christians identifying “truth” by what they feel or what the world tells us it is, is this the beginning of that famine Amos spoke of?

We also check in with author and Pastor Carl Gallups to discuss his newly released book “Gods and Thrones.” Are we truly living in the most prophetic times since Jesus Christ walked the earth? And if so are we ignoring crucially important signs that point to the return of our Lord and Savior?

Five Big Deceptions, Listener Comments, and Church Security

There can be little doubt the LGBTQ movement has gained both momentum and power in America and sadly, within too many churches. Now with the transgender part of the LGBTQ being rolled out, the Left is winning the battle for the public square in part by having successfully shaped public opinion over the past several decades. It’s interesting this directly correlates with a growth in biblical illiteracy and an increasing belief that the Bible is not the inerrant Word of God.

Today we discuss five of the biggest deceptions being perpetrated on Christians and the American people by transgender movement.  Since most media, government and public education caved to political correctness and increasing pressure from the LGBTQ camp, these lies and delusions are now repeated so often that most simply accept them as being true.

The majority of today’s program – as it is each Friday now – is dedicated to your comments and questions from the week on a variety of topics. And no subject is off limits.

Confronting the Lies and Propaganda of the Transgender Movement

Most of us understand there is nothing new under the sun and that includes sin. Though this may seem like a more recent shift, America and many Christian Churches are have been gradually seduced by lies and deception regarding the transgender movement in our nation. As City and State governments rush to pass legislation pandering to political correctness in the name of fairness, love, and equality, it seems few are bothering to evaluate the scientific facts about this deception, much less the biblical truth about creation and humanity.

Our lack of knowledge, along with our desire to conform and be politically correct is putting thousands of children at risk for a life of misery and confusion, along with elevated health risks as well as suicide attempts.

This morning we take an in-depth look at a statement on transgenderism from the American College of Pediatricians that addresses and confronts the lies and deceptions of Hollywood, the media, the LGBTQ community and its sympathizers.

We will also share some of the chilling effects of this legislation as it has been implemented around our nation.

In Order to Fight Evil We Must First Understand It

It is very easy to become distracted or overwhelmed with all that’s going on in our world. North Korea and its threats; ISIS and the wars in the Middle East; increasing attacks on Christians and Jews around the globe; and Christians being marginalized and pushed out of the public arena here in the U.S.

But if we stay anchored in God’s Word and keep our faith and focus on Him, we will understand the times and see these events from a big picture perspective. With the Bible as our foundation, we will be encouraged and equipped to stand strong in our faith and trust in God’s sovereignty.

Pastor Carl Gallups joins us this morning to help sift through the noise and keep our minds focused on God’s Word and promises. We will also discuss the growing threats to Christian Churches and if it is time for more churches to take the safety of its members more seriously by implementing security measures.
