Using Romans 7 as an excuse to go on sinning
Is the Pope causing some Catholics to question their own teachings?
Should women be allowed to be pastors?
Are all prosperity preachers ‘charlatans’?
A youth group leader concerned that kids in church bristle when they hear the word “sin”
Creflo Dollar or Todd Friel: whose doctrine is biblically sound?
A woman learned her husband had an affair: should she forgive and stay in the marriage?
Is tithing a requirement in the Christian church?
Jesse Duplantis and the “Word of Faith” movement.

A Church of Compromise, Not Courage

This morning, Mike and David cover a couple of stories pointing to continuing compromise of the Gospel and word of God in a growing number of churches under the guise of “love.” We look at a United Methodist Church hosting Muslims for a Ramadan Dinner for Muslims, and a gathering of pastors and church leaders trying to figure out how homosexuality fits into biblical Christianity.

In our first segment, we check in with Julaine Appling of Wisconsin Family Council to see what is happening on the pro-life and pro-family front in Madison and around the state. We look at new research from Barna that discusses the views of Americans concerning the direction of our nation including 77% of people surveyed who say we are heading in the wrong direction morally and culturally.

Listener Comments and Questions – TGIF!

The Bible is clear: God created man in His own image, but as absolute truth and morality continue to be attacked, we see this truth being denied as more and more professing Christians see God as they would like to see Him. We should rather surrender to Him and acknowledge His eternal nature and character. This is one of the subjects a listener sent in which we will address today. Other topics people want to touch on include:

What does Calvinism teach regarding salvation and evangelism?
The ongoing controversy and potential schism within the Southern Baptist Convention.
Why is it so hard to focus and why is prayer so difficult at times?
Jehovah’s Witnesses concept of the 144,000 “chosen ones” – the only ones who will be saved?
How pastors and teachers can reach both the unsaved and teach holiness to dedicated disciples in the same message.
Why don’t pastors and youth group leaders discuss the lies young believers are facing today about creation, sexuality and gender confusion.
Anti-Christian Senator Cory Booker and the Willow Creek Leadership Summit.
Several comments on an article about this generation “building their own god.”

Demanding Justice From An Unjust World

God is eternally and flawlessly just. Human beings are not. But something in every man wants to make sure we are treated justly and to see justice, particularly as Christians. Is it illogical to expect a fallen world to treat us justly? Does the Bible teach us to demand justice or accept that one day God’s justice will prevail? A combination perhaps? How do we react when we are treated unjustly by others? By the world?

Dave Wager of Silver Birch Ranch joins us to discuss justice and our role in God’s plan. We also look at how young people are forming their own version of God based on their individual beliefs and moral code. It’s called creating a god in their own image.

Don’t You Dare Bring God into This!

As secular culture turns more hostile toward God and His Word every day, secular humanists are doing all they can to make certain God’s perfect truth is no longer a part of helping people trapped in sin. Instead, the left is encouraging people to not only agree with them, but to insist that others accept their sin as righteous. Isaiah 5:20 warns us about calling evil good.

The city of Milwaukee recently passed an ordinance that bans so-called “conversion therapy” for minors struggling with homosexuality or gender issues, but many pastors in the community are uniting to fight the proposed ordinance. We also discuss a California Supreme Court decision that actually reverses a CA law that approved assisted suicide, and the Supreme Court decision regarding sports betting (gambling) leaving it up to each state whether or not to legalize betting on sports.

Julaine Appling of Wisconsin Family Action is in studio today to discuss these issues along with why so many people are ignorant or uninformed about the Christian faith and what the Bible actually teaches.

Courageously Standing With Israel

Today Israel marks the seventieth anniversary of its rebirth as a nation, a biblical prophecy from thousands of years ago fulfilled in 1948. The United States is marking the anniversary by officially moving its embassy to Jerusalem, the long-standing capital of Israel, against opposition from almost the entire world.

Many believe this will incite Muslim nations to attack Israel with the greatest severity since the 1973 war, and that it could quickly spread to a major regional or even world war. Iran’s growing influence, the rise of Turkey as a radical Muslim power, and the strong presence of Russia in the Middle East all point to a potentially serious conflict.

Jan Markell of Olive Tree Views and host of Understanding the Times Radio joins us this morning to discuss this significant anniversary in Israel’s history and discuss what might lie ahead.

In our final segment we talk with Wisconsin State Representative Andre Jacque and ask if the groundbreaking pro-life legislation recently signed into law in Iowa could also happen here in Wisconsin.

Women Won’t Have Sex With Me So I’ll Murder Innocent People!

We first check in with Tina Marie Griffin, Counter-Culture Mom to discuss ways to protect our children from poisonous movies, games, and social media, as well as the graphic sexualization of public school children. We also touch on Boy Scout & Girl Scout Alternatives: Trail Life USA, “a Christ-centered outdoor adventure, leadership, and character development ministry.” And a parallel organization for girls, American Heritage Girls, good to know given the ideologies (such as Planned Parenthood) driving the Girl Scouts these days.

The disturbing subject of segment 2 sounds like some twisted plot in some Hollywood movie, but there is actually a movement (on-line community) that seems to justify senseless killing of innocent people because they have been rejected in their sexual advances toward women. It is known as “INCEL Movement” which stands for “involuntarily celibate,” and there have been at least 32 deaths linked to them so far. This rotten fruit is a result of pornography and the sexual revolution.

We wrap up with some good news on the pro-life front: Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds just passed the strongest pro-life bill in the country. What can we expect from the opposition regarding protests and legal challenges?

Waking Up From our Deep Slumber as Christians

Accurate history provides a picture of where we are today and where we might be headed in the future. A look back at the history and trend of Christianity in America over the past fifty years does not paint a rosy picture. We have watched God and His Word be thrown out of public schools and most people stood by in silence. We have witnessed more than 50,000,000 babies murdered and barely a murmur of protest from the Christian community. Homosexual “marriage” became legal and we fear to speak up about sin because we don’t want to offend anyone. And now we are reaping the harvest from our indifference and selfish attitudes, watching a majority of our children walk away from biblical Christianity, embracing the lies of the enemy.

What will it take to wake up the Christian Church in America? Has she become so addicted to wealth and comfort that she is on the verge of looking more like the apostate church in the final days rather than the Bride of Christ that Paul and John talked about?

Elijah Abraham has a first hand view of the Christian Church both here in America and around the world. He sees American Christians living the life of comfort while true believers around the world put their lives on the line every time they attend church or mention the name of Jesus. Elijah joins us today to share his perspective.

Changing Ethics and Morals in a Turbulent World

“Situational Ethics” seems to be the standard by which the world is evolving. No longer is there a strong sense of absolute right or wrong; rather people of the world simply decide what is “right” based on their own personal preference and situation. The final verses of The Book of Judges summarizes us perfectly as a society: “In those days there was no king in Israel. Everyone did what was right in his own eyes.” (Judges 21:25)

A society cannot survive long when there is no righteous standard of ethics and morality. Is our nation on the cusp of moral and ethical anarchy? And how will we as the church respond as morality crumbles?

Dave Wager of Silver Birch Ranch and Nicolet Bible Institute joins us to discuss Christian ethics and morality in a nation that is ushering God and His Word out the door.

Finding the Right Church, and Other Great Topics!

If your church has been veering away from traditional biblical doctrines and teachings, and you feel led to consider another church, what questions should you ask those pastors before becoming a member?

This is one of the questions one of our listeners posed this week. Other questions include:

Is God capable of hatred?
How can I defend hyper-feminism and the increasing demonization of men?
Are Christians required to tithe?
Our son’s youth pastor advised the kids to abstain from sex, but if they choose not to, they should take precautions. What?!
Can a person be “trapped” or born in the wrong body?
How do we refute the arguments of those who believe gender is fluid and can be (“assigned”) chosen?
What if my pastor doesn’t teach the Old Testament or prophecy?

Christian Alternatives to Public Education

It is pretty clear what Christian parents can expect if they send their children to government-run schools. Whatever basic Christian worldview their children have will be challenged and probably mocked, that is, if other kids find out they’re Christians. There’s also a very good chance that by the time they head off to college their children will want nothing to do with the Christian faith.

There are alternatives. Why send your children to reputable Christian schools or take a step of faith and homeschool? But many parents are intimidated by what they perceive to be a tremendous commitment of time or money needed for homeschooling their children.

We discuss a new Christian Home School Organization to offer assistance to parents who choose to home school their children. We talk with Andrew Pudewa, director of the Institute for Excellence in Writing, who is very involved in the advancement of quality homeschooling. He will be speaking at the Wisconsin Homeschool conference April 20-21 in Milwaukee.

In our first segment, we check in with Julaine Appling of Wisconsin Family Council to discuss the recent election of a liberal Wisconsin Supreme Court justice. We also address disturbing trends we see in government, as well as a dangerous ordinance in Milwaukee that will prevent Christian churches and counselors from helping young people who are confused about their sexuality or gender identification.

Countering College Indoctrination

It’s no secret that the vast majority of college campuses are filled with radical liberal ideologies promoting Humanism and Marxism, and worldviews contradictory to the Bible. With each passing year, we see our young people being indoctrinated more and more into lies and false teachings that steer them and our nation away from God and biblical morality. This has been going on for decades, and as these young people assume the mantle of leadership in our nation and churches, who knows what the future might hold?

Fortunately, there are committed Christians doing what they can to help university students see the light and truth of Jesus Christ. We speak with two of those believers today, Devin and Melissa Pellew of Ratio Christi Ministries. They are Directors at Ratio Christi’s Winthrop University Chapter, spreading the gospel on campus and helping Christian students maintain a biblical worldview through apologetics.

Risking Your Life and Family for the Gospel

Have you ever thought about how you would react if suddenly you or your family were threatened, demanding you to deny your allegiance to Jesus Christ? And if you’re thinking to yourself, “I would never do that, no matter what,” remember the Apostle Peter said the same thing – and then cowered.

Today, Mike and David talk with a man who was confronted with that horror. Bishop Pervaiz Joseph, a Christian leader from Pakistan who had a good relationship with government leaders there. He was able to share the gospel freely until he was falsely accused of a crime, kidnapped, tortured, and his family was forced to flee to Sri Lanka and eventually to the U.S. His story became known by Voice of the Martyrs.

He started Bishop Joseph Ministries International in December 2016, a non-profit organization, working with people around the globe uplifting communities and spreading a message of Hope, Peace and Love. Joseph, along with his family moved to the United States of America after facing religious persecution in his homeland and stayed in exile for a little over four years. They now run a local Church in affiliation with the Foursquare Missions and connect, build and uplift communities around the world by organizing mission trips, conferences and seminars within various states and worldwide.

In our final segment, we look at a chilling commentary on how youth are being brainwashed and indoctrinated into socialism and atheism by social media giants like Google, Facebook and Twitter.

Is There Really a Shadow Government in Our Nation?

There will always be conspiracy theories in every day life. Back in the 1960s there was talk of a “shadow government” that really set the agenda and pulled the strings of government officials, doing the bidding of power hungry globalists. These theories were widely dismissed.

But is the ‘Shadow Government” a reality, and if so, what would it mean for Christians in America? Could it threaten our freedom to worship God and share His Word? Could it one day force us to worship government instead of God, like in Marxist nations?

Author and Pastor Carl Gallups joins us to share his research and thoughts. We will also discuss the strange journey of Pastor Andy Stanley, who has said increasingly provocative things about the Bible over the past couple years. Has Stanley left the camp of solid Evangelical Christianity?

On the Brink of Cataclysmic Change?

You would be hard pressed to remember a time when world leaders faced such a series of important decisions that could lead to world wide war or calamity. Here are just a few things to consider: increased attacks against Israel by Hamas, an Iranian regime developing nuclear weapons; Russia is entrenched in Syria with an eye on Israel; Islam is sweeping across Europe and Asia; and Western nations are arguing about trade and tariffs which could lead to economic turmoil.

All of this is set against the background of Bible prophecy and is happening at a time when the ‘professing’ Christian Church in America and Europe seems to be floundering due in part to apathy, heresy, and an ecumenical movement that puts unity and peace above truth.

This week, a crucial summit is taking place between President Trump and North Korea’s Kim Jong Un spurred on by the president’s tough rhetoric against North Korea. Without God’s word as our anchor of hope, we could easily get depressed. But His word is truth and His promises everlasting. Gary Kah of Hope For the World has studied and written about the coming one world government and religion, and joins us to put all this into proper context and perspective.
