Controversial Issues in the Christian Church

Families and societies operate best when there are fixed standards of morality to guide our actions. In our nation, we were established upon the rule of law, supposedly giving us clear instruction what is acceptable or unacceptable behavior. As Christians we are guided by God’s Word which sets the ultimate standard for morality and acceptable behavior for us. But what happens when “normal” becomes subjective to personal feelings?

In the first segment today, we check in with Doug Wakefield of Best Minds, Inc. to keep an eye on world wide economic trends that point to globalism through a coming shake up in the world economy.

Technology: Servant or Master?

Smart phones that track your location; televisions and computers that can watch you; medical implants that monitor and treat us medically; and new super computers that some hope will learn how to think and act “human”. Depending on your perspective the future of technology can sound exciting or frightening.

There are serious scientists backed by rich individuals who actually believe that in the next 10-20 years human beings might have the ability to “live forever” as we integrate computer technology with human flesh. And the corporation driving this vision is none other than Google: a corporation that has much more control over you and me than we even realize.

Does the Bible speak to this insane search for human immortality? How do we respond as Christians to this advance in technology? Pastor Carl Gallups, a radio show host and best selling author joins us for a biblical perspective on technology along with a discussion on end times prophecy.

Remembering our Nation’s Foundational Principles

As we come off our celebration of America’s Independence, it is important we recognize that the words and ideals of our founding fathers have been twisted by radical progressives to advance their agenda that America is evil so their globalist agenda can be forwarded. In reality, several Presidents–Democrat and Republican alike–have historically noted the importance of the Bible and Christian values to our founders in establishing our nation.

No doubt, and sadly, our founders had to compromise on critical moral issues such as slavery in order to get the Republic established, but those wrongs were eventually corrected. Today we share what some of our Presidents have stated about the Christian conviction of our nation’s founders. And we explore why many America-bashing leftists and progressives paint a different picture of the founders of our nation.

In our first segment we check in with Tina Griffin of Counter Culture Mom, to discuss the impact of Hollywood, entertainment and social media on our children.

The Growing Hatred Against Biblical Christianity

Jesus clearly warned His disciples that the world would hate them because they hated Him first. His statement was true in the first century church and is truer than ever in the 21st century. This morning we cover a couple news stories that show just how far that hatred has gone.

One liberal columnist now says Christianity is “white supremacy disguised as religion”. And a woman has developed a new “LGBT Bible App” promoting “inclusiveness” within the church.

We also check in with William Murray of the Religious Freedom Coalition to discuss the plight of Christians in Iraq and Syria, and how Marxism has infiltrated American and even Christian thought.

Religious Freedom Hanging in the Balance

When the U.S. Supreme Court legalized homosexual marriage in 2015, some of us predicted that the real issue was not same-sex “marriage,” but rather a full out war on silencing Christians and forcing people to accept and celebrate an anti-biblical agenda. Well, a lot of people dismissed our prediction as “fear mongering.” But fast forward just two years later and we are seeing a persistent attack on the speech and freedoms of Christians, and a legal and propaganda campaign to marginalize Christian thought, beliefs, and conscience.

Today we cover some high-interest news stories on just how critical things are getting. In the first segment, we check in with Doug Wakefield of Best Minds, Inc. to see how economically we are walking into bondage by ignoring the signs of an imminent world-wide financial meltdow

A World Preparing to Kneel Before Anti-Christ

It is very difficult to escape the reality that Satan’s influence is growing by leaps and bounds in the days in which we live. The rise of Islamic terrorism, a religion clearly defined as a religion of anti-christ in the bible, along with the growing hedonism all around us are clear indications that mankind has decided we do not need God, and we would prefer to do things our way. And we should not be surprised at what we see because God’s Word warned us all these things would increase in the times leading up to the Lord’s return.

America certainly has enough of its own moral and spiritual problems, but this morning we focus on events in Europe and worldwide that are preparing the way for the “New World Order” where Satan’s puppet, anti-christ, will be worshiped as the savior of humanity, and most will blindly follow up while turning their backs on the one who died on a cross so we could be reconciled to God.

Pastor Carl Gallups joins us to look at a world lining up to reject God and embrace its true enemy: The one who seeks to destroy the eternal souls of all men.

Liberal Theology & Thought: A Cancer Spreading in the Professing Church?

We all celebrated when we thought Communism and Marxism had finally died with the destruction of the Berlin Wall and the breakup of the Soviet Union in 1989. Little did we know Marxism hadn’t died; it had only morphed into something more subtle but every bit as dangerous: the new progressive liberalism. This is tolerance and inclusiveness on steroids!

By all accounts Marxism has infiltrated our colleges and media under the nomenclature of progressivism. It’s bad enough our nation’s younger people open their arms to this dangerous deception, but a growing number of professing Christians and churches have openly embraced and promoted this system that directly contradicts most of the Bible’s teachings. On today’s program, Mike LeMay and David Fiorazo explore this dangerous movement and how it is not only being openly embraced by millions of American citizens, but by too many ‘professing’ Christians in our nation.

The Great Deception of Media, Public Education and Fake Christianity

The Bible warns us that in the final days deception would become so rampant and powerful that many would abandon biblical Christianity for a world-wide system based on Humanism, elevating the thinking of mankind and dismissing God and His Word. Over the past 20-30 years the face of media, public education, and even the Church in America has changed so radically that it looks nothing like to used to. And the sad truth is in the here and now, Secular Humanism is winning the hearts and minds of many youth–youth that will one day lead this nation and our local churches.

Our guest today is Don Venoit of Midwest Christian Outreach as we take a sobering look at the decay of American culture and thought, along with the many problems facing the Christian Church in America.

Assessing President Trump’s Efforts in the Middle East

This morning we look at President Trump’s visit to the Middle East to try to rally Muslim nations against ISIS and terrorism, along with his ambitious hopes to bring peace to Israel and its enemies. We will look at his efforts from biblical and pragmatic viewpoints, and discuss some writings by Christian author, Bill Koenig, a White House corespondent. In the first segment we check in with Dr. Cal Beisner of the Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation to look at the radical environmental movement and its real agenda.

The Attack on Religious Liberty

The Constitution of the United States guarantees every citizen the right to worship as they believe and to freely express their religious views privately as well as publicly. But Jesus warned us that the day would come when true Christian believers would be marginalized, hated and even persecuted for their faith in Him. Historically we have believed “that could never happen in America,” but we are seeing the early signs that indeed it is starting to happen.

Are we approaching the day when the right of true, practicing Christians to share their faith and worship publicly in our nation will become a distant memory? What can we do to assure our constitutional rights to privately and publicly express and share our Christian convictions? Or should we accept what many feel is inevitable: that Christian liberties will be stripped in favor of political correctness and secular humanism?

Brad Dacus of The Pacific Justice Institute joins us to discuss trends and recent legal battles over the religious freedom of Christians.

National Security, Religious Freedom, and Biased Media

With terrorism on the rise, many Americans are naturally concerned with safety, wanting the federal government to inform us about hateful ideologies and protect us from terrorist organizations like ISIS and the Muslim Brotherhood. But safety usually comes with a potentially severe price: Freedom. It is a difficult balance to maintain maximum safety without government intrusion into privacy, freedom of speech, or other liberties our Constitution guarantees us as citizens.

Also, there is a potentially dangerous trend within our National Security Agencies to become political as we are witnessing holdover members of the Obama Administration leaking damaging innuendo or facts about the Trump Administration to the press. Few would argue the media doesn’t want to undermine the President’s agenda and see him fail.

Ryan Mauro is a national security expert withe The Clarion Project and a Shillman Fellow. He joins us to discuss President Trump’s trip to the Middle East this weekend, as well as the growth of terrorism and what can be legally done about it.

Next, David Fiorazo presents another Media Watch segment concerning what he calls hypocritical, irresponsible, malignant media bias, and we discuss the increasing discrimination against Christians and conservatives in America.

Does North Korea fit in Biblical Prophecy?

Understandably when most Christians consider biblical prophecy we look to Israel and the growing tension in the Middle East. And while many events in the Middle East seem to be lining up prophetically, are we over looking a tiny nation in Asia with nuclear weapons who is threatening to destroy America and plunge the world into global war? We’re talking of course about North Korea. At least one pastor and student of biblical prophecy thinks it is a mistake to discount North Korea’s influence on end times prophecy.

Pastor Carl Gallups, a best-selling author and radio show host joins us to take a world-wide view of biblical prophecy and the increasing tension in the world.

Discernment or Self-Destruction?

This morning on Stand Up For the Truth we read your comments and answer your questions from this week.  One central theme is discernment issues within Christianity.  Are we using proper biblical discernment or engaging in prideful witch hunts, looking to discredit others who we disagree with?  Also, several have chimed in regarding young people seeking “community” outside the confines of church. We discuss these and other topics of interest today.

First up, David covers our weekly Media watch segment, answering this question:  Why does secular media dedicate so much time to covering issues Americans say they don’t care about?

Is This the Future of America’s Churches?

Today we cover an intriguing article from Denver, Colorado about an “atheist church of free thinkers.” What is very interesting about the article is the words they use to describe their “community” are the same words that appeal to many young Christians these days: Free-thinking, questioning, skeptical, and conversational.

Is this the model for the future of church for our younger people? We discuss this with Dave Wager of Silver Birch ranch and Nicolet Bible Institute. Dave has worked with youth for 35 years.

The One Who Can Fix Our Problems in Public Education

In our final segment today we offer a solution to the Public Education mess we see as discussed from the crisis at Washington Middle School in Green Bay. The solution is simple, but not easy. It will require qualities sadly lacking these days: courage and conviction.

First up, we are joined by Brad Dacus of The Pacific Justice Institute to discuss legal cases threatening the religious freedom and conviction of Christians in our nation. Even his organization has been labeled a ‘hate’ group’ by the radical Southern Poverty Law Center. Has the Progressive/Marxist juggernaut grown so strong that it is inevitable? If not, what can we do to fight it and restore biblical principles in our nation?
