Are We Prepared for Real Persecution in America?

Our Christian brothers and sisters around the world are facing increased persecution for their faith in Jesus Christ. But we here in America face limited discrimination and a soft persecution at worst. Are we spiritually prepared for the coming days when we are truly hated for the name sake of Jesus Christ? Is our professed Christian walk even worthy of hatred and persecution of the world? Or does our life blend in too closely with the lives of unbelievers? Don Veinot joins the program today.

This morning we look at recent studies showing increased hatred of Jesus Christ and His followers, and how Christians in America are being influenced more and more by secular humanist thought.

Church: Should I Stay or Should I Go?

In a world increasingly hostile to God and His Word, the importance of belonging to a strong, biblical church has never been greater. Sadly, an increasing number of churches seem to be looking for ways to compromise with secular culture in the hopes of growing their church. Many crucial, biblical issues are not being addressed for fear members might be offended and leave the church. But there are still many solid Christian churches out there who are staying true to God’s Word and refusing to give in to political correctness or conform to the world.

In our consumer driven mindset these days, we want what we want, when we want it. But has this mindset caused some to leave churches for the wrong reason? Is it all about us being fed and a church meeting our needs? What about serving the body of Christ? And how do we know when it might be time to find a new church, and what does a solid church look like?

Joining us today for an in depth look at the importance of strong Christian teachings and fellowship in the church is Pastor Randy White.

Clever, Dangerous Deception

In my latest book The Death of Christian Thought, I discuss how it is not the blatant lies that are most dangerous, but rather the clever deceptions of Satan and false teachers that are our greatest threat. Deception masked as truth is subtle, but very dangerous, slowly leading many away from the truth of God’s Word.

This morning we begin a discussion on an article by Tim Challies titled “7 False Teachers in the Church Today” that equips us to discern between truth and clever deception.

We also check in with Brad Dacus of the Pacific Justice Institute to discuss the many court cases and threats involving our religious freedom in America, especially the transgender movement.

Do Our Actions Betray Our Words?

It is much easier to say we believe something than it is to live it sometimes. We all say we trust God, or love our spouses, but do our actions continually support our verbal claims? According to the Bible, faith in Jesus Christ goes beyond mental assent; it is an unshakable belief of the mind and the heart: a complete, unwavering commitment to Him as our Lord and Savior.

Dave Wager of Nicolet Bible Institute joins us this morning to discuss the importance of living what we claim to believe.

Is ‘Transgenderism’ Here to Stay?

Facebook now recognizes 71 different genders options that members can self-identify with. The Federal Government has expanded its list to more than 50. And, according to some, transgenderism has almost become a badge of pride and honor among youth desperately seeking approval from their peers.

We know God created human beings male or female, and in His image. But we also know that the Word of God has increasingly been marginalized and dismissed as antiquated in our society.

This morning we look at the increased pressure to expand “gender” and the growing punishment of those who will not go along with the agenda. Matt Walsh joins us for an interesting, thought-provoking discussion.

Is Scientology Compatible with Christianity?

Why are people seduced by cults? What would make an intelligent person fall into deception or be drawn into anti-biblical teachings? Something that sounds good on the surface perhaps, but is not what it appears to be when you do a little digging. Today we will discuss the Church of Scientology with an expert, James Walker of Watchman.org and touch on some basics.

The End Game in Syria and Israel

Many are wondering what the end game of leaders like President Trump and Russian President Putin might be in Syria and the Middle East. The U.S. attack on the air force base that Syrian President Assad used to attack his people with chemical weapons has the world on edge, and as the U.S. Secretary of State prepares to meet with Russian leaders today, an anxious world looks on hoping for a positive outcome that will avoid an escalation of war.

Hear what Gary Kay has to say on today’s program.

Syria, Chemical Weapons and Biblical Prophecy

Thursday evening, the United States launched a devastating attack on a Syrian Air Force base, from which a chemical weapons attack against its own people was based two days earlier. The world is once again on edge since Syria is allied with Russia, and many are wondering if this attack will escalate into regional war pitting two nuclear superpowers against one another.

Bible prophecy focuses heavily on Israel and the Middle East. Joining us today is Pastor Carl Gallups, an author and Bible prophecy teacher. We discuss current events and the chaos in the Middle East, viewing it all through the lens of scripture.

Wielding a Sharp Sword Carefully

Hebrews 4:12 says the Word of God is sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and spirit. Since we are armed with such a powerful weapon, we would be wise to wield it carefully instead of just flailing it around carelessly.

But how many times do we treat this powerful sword as a weapon to attack others instead of using it to convict the hearts and minds of people to submit to God? And how many times do we misuse this weapon for personal gain, even at the risk of God’s discipline?

Dave Wager of Nicolet Bible Institute joins us to discuss how we use this powerful weapon–God’s Word–with care and respect.

Playing with Spiritual Fire

Death has been called the “great door to the unknown”. Since the beginning of time man has wondered if there is life after death; and if so what does that life look like. Of course, God’s Word speaks clearly to the issue. One key section is the ‘resurrection chapter’ where Paul teaches believers about the resurrection of the physical body after death. The other thing is as believers in Christ, we have assurance the world does not have about what happens after we die.

In out first segment, Jay Seegert joins us to discuss the Grand Canyon and the evidence it presents confirming the biblical account of creation.

In our second segment today we cover the story of one Theresa Caputo, the self-proclaimed “Long Island Medium” who was in Green Bay last night. Caputo claims to speak to dead spirits, bringing peace to people who wonder what has happened to their loved ones. We’ll take a look at Caputo’s claims and see what God’s Word has to say about contacting dead spirits.

Islam: A Religion or Political System?

Elijah Abraham, a former Muslim, who understands Islam fully. America’s history of religious freedom according to the U.S. Constitution leaves many Christians confused. How should we perceive Islam as well as the various levels of commitment Muslims seem to have. Some are moderate and yet others believe the radical teachings of Muhammad. Others are embarrassed by the extremists and terrorists, but do not speak up and denounce their actions. How do we process all the different angles in this discussion?

What is the correct balance Christians should have in our relationship with Muslims? How do we acknowledge the violent teachings in the Quran as reality, yet look at Muslims as lost people with whom we need to speak the truth in love? The gospel must still be preached and our mission and purpose does not change.

The Cold Sting of Political Reality

Reality is not always pleasant. But to deny the reality of the crisis we face in America is foolishness. By every measurable standard we are a nation in decline. Republicans are arguing among themselves about who has the best policies to fix the problems while Democrats have become obstructionists and have forged a national resistance against anything the Trump administration attempts to do. And Christians are also divided politically and morally on many issues including whether we should even engage in politics.

Follow the Money

When dealing with governments or political/social movements, ‘follow the money’ is usually sound advice when you want to know the real agenda. We consistently hear the latest scares about how the earth is heating to catastrophic levels, threatening humanity. This coming from the same people who warned us thirty years ago that we risked heading into a new “ice age” that would threaten to destroy us.

Many people believe the real issue is radical wealth redistribution leading to totalitarian world government or even population control. As we approach Earth Day this Saturday and the ant-scientific ‘March for Science,’ expect to hear grim warnings of where we are headed over CO2 emissions once again. Joining us to cut through the fog is Dr. Cal Beissner of The Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation.

We also look at the National Day of Prayer events that will be held on May 4 once again this year. While Christians gathering for prayer is a good thing, have some of them become nothing more than multi-faith events promoting Universalism? We’ll discuss that with the coordinators of our Green Bay area National Day of Prayer in our second segment this morning.
