The Word or the World?

Truth is the self-expression of God. Either His Word is right, or the world is right. Which is it? Enemies of God have caused people to doubt the truth about creation, our origins and gender, life’s meaning, marriage, sin, eternity, judgment, and the deity of Jesus Christ.

WHY do you think there is confusion today about what bathroom people are supposed to use in public? Why wasn’t this an issue 100 years ago? 1,000 years ago?

Has God changed or has America changed?

Malcolm Muggeridge stated:

“One of the peculiar sins of the twentieth century which we’ve developed to a very high level is the sin of credulity. It has been said that when human beings stop believing in God they believe in nothing. The truth is much worse: they believe in anything.”

Using Fascination with Dinosaurs to Share the Gospel

Everyone is fascinated with dinosaurs.  The Jurassic Park movies have been seen by almost everyone and museum exhibits of dinosaur replicas or excavated dinosaur bones draw millions of people every year. We are told the bones are millions of years old and apparently so is the earth. Is this true?

But most people only know what they do about dinosaurs from what they have seen in fiction movies, atheist scientists, or by watching National Geographic, The History Channel, etc. If we don’t know by now, these networks as well as other publications will not give the true biblical account.

How can we use the fascination with dinosaurs to open the door for sharing the gospel?  What were the dinosaurs really like and when did they disappear?  Jay Seegert of The Starting Point Project joins us this morning.

In our third segment, Mike and David clarify our ministry stance as well as any misunderstandings on our legal challenge to the city of De Pere, Wisconsin on the so-called non-discrimination (transgender, LGBTQ) ordinance passed by the city council.

The Sacred Right to Life

Liberals have successfully painted themselves as champions for human rights, yet they overwhelmingly continue to support the murder of innocent children in the womb. Somehow, some way they have successfully dismissed the life of an innocent child as something less than a human right. And sadly a majority of Americans and even professing Christians have historically favored abortion to some extent. But is the tide of public opinion starting to change?

This morning we are joined by Stephanie Gray, an international pro-life speaker who began speaking publicly at age 18. She has appeared on almost every major television network and spoken at dozens of college campuses including Yale, George Washington University and California-Berkeley. And last year she spoke at Google in a speech that went viral titled “Abortion: From Controversy to Civility”. She is a born-again believer who is changing minds and hearts by God’s power and grace.

Creation to Christmas: Old Testament Timeline

Two weeks from today Christians will celebrate and reflect on the birth of Jesus Christ, God in the flesh and our Messiah, who came to set us free from the punishment and captivity of sin. There is plenty of prophecy and very important history leading up to that amazing event that sadly gets increasingly ignored in most churches. It is called the Old Testament and it contains answers to many questions that the world is asking.

In fact if we do not understand the history of mankind and how they related with God leading up to the birth of Jesus, we will fail to grasp the true significance of Jesus’ birth along with his pending return when He judges all of humanity for eternity.

Jay Seegert of The Starting Point Project joins us for a look at the history of mankind from the beginning of creation up until the birth of our Lord and Savior. The answers to our questions about God, His creation, our sinful nature and need of redemption are there. We just need to take the time to study God’s Word from the beginning.

Christians’ Diverse Views on Morality, Friday Q&A

Absolutely no subject is off limits! On today’s show we answer your questions and read your comments from the week on any topic you want to discuss.

But first we take a look at the mounting chaos and confusion in our nation and ask if our nation is on the verge of a total meltdown of morality and common sense. Our self-proclaimed “One Nation Under God” has become anything but that as radical liberal forces continue to sew seeds of confusion and discontent, and our public schools continue to indoctrinate our children into godless humanism.

True Justice and Protecting Free Speech

Today we discuss some recent or pending court cases regarding religious freedom with the President of Pacific Justice Institute, Brad Dacus. He gives insight on the legal battles brewing across the country as well as the underlying evil advancing the transgender agenda. It is irresponsible to blindly affirm those who are confused about sex and gender issues, especially children who are much too young to understand or make such life-impacting, destructive body-altering decisions.

In our second segment, we report on a Christian teacher in England who was fired for “misgendering” a female student by simply saying, “good job, girls,” when they were studying math together. The question is when will this begin in America?

Rolling Out the ‘T’ – and it’s not Tolerance

Most of us may think the transgender movement has been more of a recent development in American culture, but it goes way back to 1952 when the first alleged “sex change” was credited to a man named Christine Jorgensen. Remember, the “T” in LGBTQ has always been there, waiting in the wings as the groundwork was laid by same-sex marriage activists.

By 2015, the stage was set quite nicely for Bruce Jenner to catapult into a culture shaping icon by selling the public on his transition into Caitlyn. Transgender individuals had been quietly waiting for the right time culturally, politically, and socially, and the election of Barack Obama as president encouraged them, giving them the green light to deny God’s truth and come out in full force.

Sadly, we now live in a society that largely thinks moral absolutes and truth are so yesterday and unnecessary if they were ever relevant at all. But God never changes and He created the world including all human beings, either male or female, and this happens to be supported by biology, science, and most in the medical community.

Education Issues You Don’t Want to Hear, But Absolutely Must

Today’s program is packed with information Christians and especially parents must hear regarding the school system in America. In this education update, we get the latest from university professor, Dr. Duke Pesta, who shares some practical advice with those considering attending college.

In our third segment today, we go back to the basics: the Bible. Freedom Project is offering a family lecture series and Duke Pesta finishes up the Gospel of John tonight, available on line for free.

Christians, Public Education, and Divisive Doctrine

We have all heard the sad statistics that a majority of young Christians leave their faith by the time they leave high school. Many more walk away from God after one year of college. And while there are certainly several factors in play, one that is often sited is public education and its clearly secular humanist agenda. Public school teachers are often accused of lying to students, particularly regarding evolution, but are they part of the agenda or do they really believe it?

Jay Seegert of The Starting Point Project joins us to look at this issue and discuss the importance of biblical doctrine–even if it might sometimes be seen as divisive.

Quick Biblical Answers & Political Correctness Unhinged

PODCAST: Just when you think political correctness couldn’t get any more absurd, the left takes it to another level of insanity. ESPN has relieved a college football announcer of his assignment to call a game, not because of his private or controversial views, but because of his name. They are worried that his name given to him at birth might make some of their audience “uncomfortable”.

Also, what percentage of Americans actually view themselves as sinners? Well the answer might surprise you.

In our first segment, we check in with author, Bryan Osborne, whose new book Quick Answers to Tough Questions can help Christians be prepared to share the reason for our eternal hope from God’s Word when the world asks difficult questions.

No More Safe Haven

A very simple observation: As foretold in the Bible the world is growing more and more evil. War in the Middle East could break out at any time as Iran and Turkey vow to destroy Israel; evil regimes possess nuclear, chemical and biological weapons that could devastate humanity; governments grow in power, controlling what we do, say and even think more and more each day.

Humanity collectively thumbs its nose at God. Public education and media pollute the minds of our children, indoctrinating them into a world view that opposes God and His Word.

Historically Christians have two “safe havens” where we could retreat from the insanity and growing evil of this world: Our churches and homes. Well sadly a growing number of churches are selling out to the world so as not to offend it; and now even the privacy of our homes and our very minds are under attack by the dangerous growth of highly invasive technology.

Eric Barger has been extensively researching how technology is being set up to manipulate and one day control us. This morning he joins us to discuss his new series “Home Invasion”.

The Danger of Ignoring the Old Testament

Remember “Cliff’s Notes”? They were short summaries of books that would perhaps give a student enough information to pass an exam on the book, but not enough to understand the depth and importance of the written work. Many of us who were students before the invention of the internet probably relied on Cliff’s Notes more than we should have.

Well, are we as Christians approaching God’s Word with a “Cliff’s Notes” attitude? We understand enough to think we are saved, but we fail to grasp the eternal truth and principles of what God has given us in His Word, often at our own peril. Bible studies tend to concentrate on the New Testament, ignoring the rich history and timeless principles God gave us going back to Genesis.

Pastor Mike Abendroth joins us this morning to discuss one of the most fascinating accounts of the Bible in 1 Kings Chapter 18. The unique list of characters in this account include the Prophet Elijah; Ahab, one of the worst kings of Israel; Jezebel his scheming, idolatrous wife; and the false prophets of the false god Baal. What lessons can we learn and apply from this biblical account to our world today?

Reviving an Increasingly Sleepy Church

As we see the wickedness and evil of this world increase at an alarming rate, the beauty of the bride of Jesus Christ, His Church, should be shining all the more radiantly. But while several churches remain faithful to God and refuse to compromise on His Word, a growing number seek compromise with the world for a variety of reasons. Perhaps fear, money or popularity are ruling the hearts of many church leaders instead of a passion for God and His Word.

But there is another culprit in this problem: A growing number of professing Christians prefer a message from the church that validates the desire of their flesh instead of challenging us to walk in holiness by the power of God’s Word and Spirit. And if the pastor dares teach a message about sin, confession and repentance—well they will just pick up and find a more accepting church where they can feel good about themselves.

Today we take an honest look at why the Christian Church in America is failing to shine brightly and point people to their only hope–the gospel of Jesus Christ–at a time when people feel more hopeless than ever. Pastor Jeff Solwold of Calvary Chapel Church in Madison, Wisconsin joins us for a frank discussion of the crisis we face and the only lasting solution: God and His complete Word.

The Rumblings of a Major Earthquake

Catastrophic earthquakes are often preceded by minor tremors as the earth beneath us begins to prepare for a major shaking. To ignore these tremors is to court disaster as we are unprepared for what is about to happen.

The Bible tells us that in the final days this world will go through cataclysmic change never seen before on both a physical and spiritual level. And many biblical scholars believe we are now witnessing these minor tremors warning us that everything around us is about to change in a very profound and eternal way.

One of these biblical scholars is Pastor Carl Gallups, author of several best-selling books that warn us of what the Bible prophesies in these final days. Are we witnessing the beginning of the end of this world and the soon return of Jesus Christ to judge mankind and establish His everlasting Kingdom?

Meaningful Christian Living & Evangelism

Rick Warren’s “The Purpose Driven Life” was a best seller that got many Christians searching for God’s “purpose” for their lives. Our guest this morning says searching for our “purpose” is a wild goose chase because once you think you’ve found it the world will change its focus and you’ll end up like those dogs we see in videos chasing their tails while getting nowhere fast and becoming dizzy and frustrated. He says rather Christians should focus on the meaning of our lives–something by the way clearly defined in God’s Word.

Pastor Randy White joins us this morning to discuss the difference between purpose and meaning, along with the importance of using Biblical Exposition in evangelism.

We’ll also discuss an intriguing study about how “Generation Z” is the least Christian generation in our nation’s history–and why one Christian researcher thinks that is actually a good thing.
