Happy Great Friday where God in the flesh, Jesus Christ endured the cross and crucifixion, suffering for us that we might be saved from the wrath of God! Sunday’s coming, friends!
First, it’s been said ‘Freedom is tested in the midst of a crisis.’ We certainly are in a worldwide crisis that has affected nearly every family and American citizen in some way. Today we’re blessed to have a guest who can provide much clarity and insight on what is happening in the midst of COVID 19 and how Christians should be responding.

Todd Nettleton UPDATE: Persecution Continues Regardless of Pandemic
Even in the midst of a worldwide virus threatening our health and way of life, outside the United States, Christianity is increasing and the gospel is being preached in the face of severe opposition. The underground church grows in spite of very real government threats. There are practical ways we can help our persecuted family. Todd Nettleton says the number one thing is still prayer.
Jan Markell: An Upside Down World – Signs of the Times
“God doesn’t shake the entire globe very often. He did during the time of Noah and at the Tower of Babel. There was a terrible plague in the 1300s and a pandemic in 1918. Two world wars took a stunning toll. But now an unseen enemy—a virus, no less—has created fear-driven chaos, and some unknown factors are causing people to embrace a worst-case outlook for the world. At this time, we don’t know how this plays out. It certainly has apocalyptic implications.” – Jan Markell, today’s guest
Bruce Baker: True Hope & ‘The Gift’ of Terminal Illness
TODAY’S GUEST: Dr. Bruce Baker is president of BecomingMature.org. Dr. Baker is also the former pastor of Washington County Bible Church in Brenham, TX. Prior to this, he was Assistant Professor of Bible and Theology at Grace School of Theology, in Houston, TX.
Receiving a diagnosis of a terminal illness causes many people to go into a tailspin of despair and depression. This is rarely considered a gift, but that is exactly how Baker sees it. He has ALS. With gentleness and candor, he explores the universal questions of why me, why now, and why this?
Don Veinot: Richard Rohr and the Enneagram Secret
The Enneagram has captured the imagination of and been embraced by of a growing number of evangelicals. It was first introduced into the church by disciples of Roman Catholic priest, mystic and “contemplative,” Father Richard Rohr. It is claimed that the Enneagram is ancient, was used by many cultures, and is not only from God but is “the face of God.” The Enneagram is a spiritual tool, but is it a spiritual tool which brings about better understanding of one’s self and the God of Scripture? That is the question we discuss on today’s podcast with Don Veinot of Midwest Christian Outreach.
Steven Bancarz: New Age Influence in Christian Churches
All across North America, Christian churches have unknowingly encouraged occult beliefs and practices far removed from what the Bible teaches. This unfortunate reality is intrinsically linked to the popularity increase of New Age spirituality in the twenty-first century, and we’ve been so influenced by its integration into our society that we have become blind to recognizing, and preventing, the effects of this mainstream, pop-culture heresy, even within the walls of God’s house.
Today’s guest is former New Ager, Steven Bancarz, founder of the apologetics website, Reasons for Jesus, and co-author of the best-selling book The Second Coming of the New Age.
Carl Teichrib: So Many Gods, so Much Deception
So many gods, so little time. There are well over 1.5 million Wiccans (over 3 million pagans, total) in the U.S. and these numbers are growing. Some are deceivers while many others are simply deceived, just looking for some kind of spirituality to practice. The increase of young people identifying themselves as neo-pagans and Wiccans is due in part to the media’s glorification of the supernatural, occult themes in Hollywood, and disillusionment with organized religion.
From national monuments to pagan deities and statues across North America, ancient gods and goddesses are all around us. Deception, idolatry, the occult, earth worship, satanism, and witchcraft have become common and to a great degree, accepted in our society. The question we should, however, ask is to what extent has it seeped into our churches?
John Loeffler: Using the Coronavirus – for What Purposes?
We are living in the most prophetic times in world history as well as some of the most unprecedented times in the U.S. as we deal with the effects of a virus that has impacted nearly every country. Globalists are using the coronavirus to push a one world government. Environmentalists are using it, the Pelosi Democrats are using it, On-line businesses are cashing in, George Soros is using it to run attack ads against President Trump, and the communist party is using it to crack down on Christian churches in China.
But here’s an important question: Are we using this to draw nearer to God, to minister to our neighbors, to offer the security of hope in Christ to people, and to advance the gospel?

Elijah Abraham: Biblical Perspective on Faith, Suffering, Trials
People need hope, and believers in Christ must be ready to give an answer to anyone who might ask about our faith in times of trials. In this season of apprehension during the coronavirus threat, some will be tested more than others. But none of us have to look very hard or long to find an opportunity to share the gospel.
Contrary to proponents of word-faith, prosperity doctrines, Christianity has nothing to do with our worldly comfort, success, or wealth. Ask a persecuted brother or sister in Christ in another country how comfortable they are. Compare their tested faith with those who merely profess to believe.
Church attendance is declining in the U.S. but Christianity continues growing in nations where there is persecution. How might God use the current season to purify the church?
Randy White: A Balanced Approach to a National Crisis
Today more than ever in history, America and the world needs theologically sound, Bible teaching churches, but they are more the exception than the norm. People need to see faith-centered, healthy responses to the coronavirus and government mandates during this time and always.
Will the church in general use this current pandemic to love our neighbors, preach the hope of Jesus Christ, and minister to those in need – or will we follow the crowd and hoard toilet paper, hand sanitizer, guns and ammo? The worrying world needs to see the power of God in believers lives that have been transformed by the renewing of our minds.
This just might be an answer to prayers for the repentance of our nation so let’s consider the very real possibility of a national revival and expect God to move.
Bill Perkins: Steeling Our Minds & Last Days Signs
It seems like end-times signs are happening at a breathtaking pace these days and Bible prophecies are being fulfilled to some degree worldwide. Now is a good time to consider digging deeper into God’s word and sharpening one another. Our mission remains the same: preach the word and love our neighbor. We should have plenty of opportunities in the weeks and months to come.
TODAY’S GUEST is Bill Perkins, founder of Compass International in 1993. The purpose of this evangelical ministry is to sharpen believers in Christ and defend the accuracy of the Bible.

Julaine Appling: Effects of Coronavirus on States, Businesses, Churches
Our lives in the U.S. have changed, and hopefully this will be temporary, but from state to state, decisions are being made regarding public gatherings and how to do business. Let’s talk openly and honestly as Christians about faith vs fear, and let’s consider how to respond in these trying times. Be informed, not alarmed. Trust the Lord, take precautions, and leave the results to Him.
Cameron Buettel: Discernment, Biblical Context, and Coronavirus Concerns
A.W. Tozer stated, “Worship is no longer worship when it reflects the culture around us more than the Christ within us.” What is happening in too many American churches is we have become seeker-sensitive, conformed to the world, and watered-down not only the hard truths of Scripture but the gospel itself. The whole country suffers when the church is weak and less effective.
On today’s podcast we discuss Christian maturity and church discernment issues.
Tony Gurule: Coronavirus, Dems Blaming Trump? Islam, Government
Robia Scott: Overcoming ‘Counterfeit Comforts’ With The Holy Spirit
Becoming a Christian doesn’t take away the seduction and temptation of the world and the bad habits from our past. And just breezing in and out of church every Sunday does not magically transform us. It takes the power of God to transform us by renewing our minds and it takes much effort on our part. Plus, for those who have enjoyed fame and fortune, the lies of the enemy must also be overcome.
Today’s guest writes: “Once I became a Christian, wasn’t all the bad stuff supposed to go away or at least start getting better? Some of my darkest days occurred after I became a Christian.” The spiritual battle is very real, and it’s ongoing. We must be in God’s Word in order to be aware of and overcome the world’s ‘counterfeit comforts.’
Matt Trewhella: Abolish Abortion, Ignore Roe, Defy Tyrants
Since Christianity affirms the humanity of preborn children, and that abortion is the murder of preborn children, why is it still legal in America? Sharing the gospel and making Jesus known must be top priority to those of us who claim the name of Christ, but should we not aim to end one of the greatest human miseries and moral evils ever to be entrenched in our world?
Today’s guest believes human beings are created in the image of Almighty God, the Creator of the universe. The weakest and most helpless among us have been subjected by this wicked culture to our acceptance of legal, and systematic destruction of life. We are simply attempting to answer the question: What does Christianity look like in a culture that practices Child Sacrifice?
Leigh Young: Letters in Revelation for Today’s Church
In the Bible in the book of Acts, early church members gathered together amid threats of persecution and prayed to the Lord for the strength and perseverance to continue in Christ and spread His word. God answered their prayer: “After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly” (Acts 4:31). God rocked the house and the gospel spread throughout the region.
But in a relatively short time, the Lord had to address many issues within several area churches. The seven letters to the churches in the Book of Revelation were custom designed to specific congregations at that time. There are however, principles from each one we can appreciate and apply to our lives today. Jesus loves us enough to reprove and discipline us when necessary, and to warn us when we are becoming self-sufficient or have given in to subtle compromise.
