Jeff Solwold: Kobe Bryant, Eternal Perspective, Spiritual Disciplines

Jeff Solwold: Kobe Bryant, Eternal Perspective, Spiritual Disciplines

Someone once said that ten out of ten people die, but we all live forever. The difference is eternal destinations. Yesterday’s news of the tragic death of basketball superstar, Kobe Bryant, shocked millions as it often does when someone famous dies. It reminds me of Psalm 90:12, a request for God to “teach us to number our days that we might gain a heart of wisdom.”

Everybody dies, so why don’t we seem to believe it deep down? If we did, perhaps we would live differently. As Christians, we should make the most of our time here and live with eternity in view! What are some good ways to cultivate an eternal perspective and maintain healthy spiritual disciplines?

Alex Newman: Climate Alarmism, Tax Dollars to North Korea, LGBT Curriculum

Alex Newman: Climate Alarmism, Tax Dollars to North Korea, LGBT Curriculum

According to Webster’s, the definition of alarmism is “the often unwarranted exciting of fears or warning of danger.” This is the agenda of the Left and they are taking advantage of people’s ignorance. Of course, we’re referring to the world ‘religion’ of climate change.’

President Trump just attended the World Economic Forum and told the audience most Americans reject the prophets of doom who predicted overpopulation in the 1960s, mass starvation in the 1970s, and the end of oil in the 1990s. The President also summarized their goals, saying: “These alarmists always demand the same thing: Absolute power to dominate, transform, and control every aspect of our lives,”

Today’s Guest, Alex Newman just returned from Madrid and the UN Climate Summit. Imagine all the hot air he observed!

No Opting Out of LGBT History Instruction?

No Opting Out of LGBT History Instruction?

Public schools in three states so far have decided to teach elementary school children LGBT history in multiple subjects. It began in California last year, the trend-setting state, and others are jumping on board with the latest being Illinois and New Jersey. According to reports, school districts in Rockland, CA, require students in kindergarten through fifth grades to learn about the contributions of LGBT individuals in history and social studies curriculum, and many parents are upset there is no opt-out for their children.

This is just the beginning, and this is what happens when radicals are in control of the education machine in America. How can such a small percentage of citizens influence the entire curriculum of a school district, a state, and eventually a country?

Mike Gendron: the Gospel, Decline of Discernment, and the One World Religion

Mike Gendron: the Gospel, Decline of Discernment, and the One World Religion

Believers are told to know the truth, and hold fast until the end so we will not fall for strong delusions, but few would deny the rapid decline of discernment in the church today.

The gospel must be preached without compromise to those who are perishing or they cannot be saved. We know the truth of Christianity is not popular today and the world would rather turn to Satan and eventually, the anti-Christ for solutions to the crisis coming upon the earth.

Mark Hancock, Trail Life USA: Just Let Boys Be Boys

Mark Hancock, Trail Life USA: Just Let Boys Be Boys

Boys and Girls are different. Fifty years ago we wouldn’t have to clarify what we mean by this or defend this simple truth. And yet, there is a clear agenda by the Left, including Hollywood and the media to downplay masculinity. Gender roles and distinctions are being blurred at best and erased at worst. Is this by design, meaning, is there an agenda against men and boys?

Juan Valdez: Responding to Charges of Intolerance

Juan Valdez: Responding to Charges of Intolerance

As our culture heads further away from God, it makes sense that more people are also rejecting truth. This often leads to attacks on those of us who believe in and who represent the God of truth. Are Christians equipped to respond to the false accusations and charges of hate? Is your family prepared to deal with the daily battles?

Rebecca Kiessling: What it Means to be 100% Pro-Life

Rebecca Kiessling: What it Means to be 100% Pro-Life

God speaks very clearly in Scripture on the subject of human life and the value of the unborn. It’s quite confusing why some Christians are still open to exceptions on abortion and others are proudly pro-choice. Even science and biology provide evidence for human life in the womb.

We know at conception, a person’s complete DNA is present – separate from the mother – and we know when a baby’s heart starts beating, when their organs are developed, and that babies can feel pain in the womb at 20 weeks. But today, we’re looking closely at the issue of rape victims and their children.

Current News & Views from a Biblical Perspective

Current News & Views from a Biblical Perspective

There’s so much happening in our world, country, and culture today it’s hard to know where to start. We cannot possibly tackle all the tough, controversial issues, but we sure can address some of the most recent news stories that affect our lives, our children, or churches.

David and Crash go through a few dozen news items of interest and strive to offer a balanced, Christian perspective to what’s going on today. As always, trust the Lord Jesus, make the Word of God your solid foundation, be discerning and understand the dark days we find ourselves in.

“A firefighter rescuing people from a burning building may be fearful and prefer to be home with his family, but he ignores his fears and denies himself. Like him, our thoughts are not on ourselves but on the fate of the perishing.” Evangelist, Ray Comfort, Living Waters Ministry

Today’s topic is evangelism, sharing our faith, and the gospel. We discuss reasons to share the gospel as well as why most of us don’t do it. How much of it comes down to our obedience and trusting the Lord? Today’s guest is Jay Seegert of The Starting Point Project

Tina Marie Griffin: Christian Parents, Please Protect Your Kids!

Tina Marie Griffin: Christian Parents, Please Protect Your Kids!

Most of us know and understand the fact that too much screen time can affect our lives. Some would say screens are frying our brains, but we won’t go that far. Media affects us emotionally as well, to the point some people simply have to unplug for a while. Kids need to do this even more so as they are forming life habits – including a worldview – and social media and technology does affect their young minds and behavior.

For Christian parents, the importance of protecting your children from all the dangers, seductions, and perversions on social media cannot be overstated. All parents must go the extra mile and take this very seriously. We catch up with Counter Culture Mom, Tina Marie Griffin to talk about the dangers of social media and today’s ‘accepted’ forms of entertainment.

Pastor Landon Churchill: True Revival Starts with Us

Pastor Landon Churchill: True Revival Starts with Us

Most of us recognize the increase of moral relativism goes hand in hand with the decline of Christianity in America. Repentance and revival are needed today more than anytime in our history! But how much time do we have? Revival starts with you and me – in our hearts. But first of all, if you are not a Christian, you can’t even be revived because you must first be “vived” or made alive in Christ.

Messianic Prophecies and the Master Plan of God

Messianic Prophecies and the Master Plan of God

The Bible tells us that long before the world began, God orchestrated a masterful plan to reconcile sinners to a holy, loving God. Through history, He provided a road map as He foretold various signs and specific conditions by which the Messiah would arrive to save mankind. His prophets spoke of things to watch for so the Messiah would be recognized and believed.

Before the world began, He knew that Jesus would come to earth and give Himself as a holy and final offering for sin; once and for all. A baby born of a virgin in a manger would become the Lamb of God. To those who trust in Him and obey His commandments, God has promised a fulfillment to our hope in Christ: He is returning soon, and we will be in His presence for eternity.

Christians, Santa Claus, and Holiday Traditions

Christians, Santa Claus, and Holiday Traditions

Some Christians today say there’s nothing wrong with any modern holiday traditions as long as the celebration is around Jesus. Others say Christians should not lie to their children and should have nothing to do with Santa Claus because of the greed and materialism this season produces. But this leads to more questions – such as what should parents tell their children about Santa Claus?

Elizabeth Johnston, Activist Mommy: Fighting for Faith, Family, Freedom

Elizabeth Johnston, Activist Mommy: Fighting for Faith, Family, Freedom

Should Christians engage the culture and help expose darkness? Didn’t Jesus say we are the light of the world? Are so-called political and social issues also moral issues we should be speaking about? Today’s guest, author and activist Elizabeth Johnston, aka the Activist Mommy, says ‘absolutely,’  and states: “The Left has been advancing and claiming more territory while we have attended church, content to wait for Jesus to come back.”

Preston & Kelly Condra: Bearing Good, Lasting Fruit for God

Preston & Kelly Condra: Bearing Good, Lasting Fruit for God

Anyone can do good deeds. You don’t have to be a Christian to have good works in life. But we do need the Holy Spirit to bear good fruit. What’s the difference? Spiritual fruit. John chapter 15 is about believers abiding in the Vine in order to bear good, lasting fruit that glorifies God.

Also, what’s the difference between quenching the Spirit and grieving the Spirit.? We’ll discuss this today, as well as how a Christian is to be continually yielded to the Lord in order to be “filled with the Spirit.”

6 Myths about Sexual Sin: Ephesians 5 Ministries

6 Myths about Sexual Sin: Ephesians 5 Ministries

We are bombarded with sexual ideas and images. The world would have us believe any kind of sexual gratification is normal and healthy. Satan would have us believe the lie that we deserve to be happy – which includes acting on any form of sexual expression to fulfill our lustful desires.

From Hollywood and the media to Television and the Internet, we can’t get away from the assault of sexual imagery. But as Christians, it’s what we do with those temptations and how/if we act on them, giving into sin. Don’t give up, there is hope!

Mary Danielsen: Feminism, History & the Church

Mary Danielsen: Feminism, History & the Church

There has been a war against Christ for thousands of years, and a war on truth throughout the world today. We’re at the point gender roles are being counterfeited and reversed. There’s a war on men as we see from the “purposeful cultural confusion about what makes a he a he and a she a she” as today’s guest puts it.

One of the questions David asks is how did we get to the point women are in positions of authority over men in so many churches around the country?

Pastor Mike Abendroth: Bring All Things Back to the Word of Truth

Pastor Mike Abendroth: Bring All Things Back to the Word of Truth

Today’s discussion is centered around the importance of context when reading and applying Scripture. Context is a safeguard for us, and will prevent us from reading our preferences into the text or ‘Americanizing’ hand-picked Bible verses.

It all comes back to God’s Word. This is our foundation built on the solid rock of Jesus Christ, the Cornerstone. No matter how much the world and culture change; Jesus Christ is the same and God never changes! We must guard against the lies of the enemy and stop allowing cultural trends and false teachings to influence the church.
