Confusion by Creating Doubt About Truth

Confusion by Creating Doubt About Truth

Over the eight years on this show, we have covered a lot of news and trends in society as well as within the church.  One of our primary focuses has been to expose the darkness and draw a clear picture of a world growing more and more evil.  The vast majority of our public institutions have sold out to Satan’s agenda of globalism under the rule of his puppet, Anti-Christ.  In just the past three years we have witnessed new levels of evil being called good by Hollywood, the media, public education, the courts, and the government:Homosexual marriage legalized by the Supreme CourtChristian business owners and individuals denied their freedom of religious expressionThe rapid advancement of gender confusion and dysphoriaThe celebration of (legal) infanticideSo what are Christians to do? Get back to the basics of our faith in Christ, and don’t be surprised. The Word of God tells us that in the latter days evil would become the norm in our society.  God also tells us that one called “Anti-Christ” will rise to power and deceive many into thinking he is actually the savior of this world.  But before Anti-Christ is revealed something very important and tragic happens:  there is a great apostasy within the professing Christian Church.  (2 Thessalonians)We will continue to point out the growing evil of this world as it marches to worshiping Satan through Anti-Christ one day soon.  We will equip you with how to disarm and confront the growing deception of this world and its institutions.  But we will also focus more on this growing apostasy within the professing church that the Bible says many professing Christians will fall for.  Today we look at what Mike believes is Step One of Satan’s master plan to bring persecution upon true believers in America in the next few years.  How many churches will remain faithful to God when persecution comes – and how many will submit to Caesar instead?

Learning By Asking Questions

Jesus was the master of asking the right questions to reveal the hearts of men and expose their hearts and their bad thought process.  On our Listener Comments and Questions podcast, Mike shares a conversation he had with a man who was defending a woman’s “right to abortion” and justifying it with God’s Word.  We’ll discuss how we can master the art of asking the right questions to get to the real heart of any matter. We are also very excited as Mike’s new books are now available through Aneko Press as well as Amazon. Mike opens today’s podcast talking about why he believes investing in his new books. (All proceeds support Stand Up For the Truth Radio) It is crucial to help Christians recognize and refute the Satan’s deceptions that have taken over the world and are infiltrating a growing number of Christian Churches.

Christians Can Bring Clarity to Cultural Confusion

Our guest today is John Loeffler of Steel on Steel radio! We discuss several issues Christians in America are dealing with including: the movement to whitewash socialism, public schools pushing secular, LGBTQ agendas, the increase of victim-hood becoming a badge of honor, and how to “right the ship” within Christianity in the west.Has the church generally lost her identity? Is it too late to bear witness against a godless, pagan culture? John offers both a historical, big picture view of our current moral decline and speculates about possible hard solutions.

Education Matters: The Battle For Truth

Satan and this fallen world has an agenda to conform us into its image.  God also has an agenda. Disciples of Jesus Christ are to be transformed into His image in thought, word and deed.  Obviously these are mutually exclusive agendas, so it’s difficult if not impossible to find a compromise between these conflicting agendas.  Today we look at one of the powerful tools the enemy uses to advance his godless agenda: public education.  Mike and David are joined by Dr. Duke Pesta of Freedom Project Media and the Dr. Duke Show to see how government-run schools and progressive universities are putting the squeeze on anyone who does not conform to its humanist views. We discuss the  sad but not surprising news from the U.S. Senate vote Monday in which Democrats refused to even recognize that a baby surviving an abortion is entitled to life and medical care.  We also look at the decision made yesterday by the divided United Methodist Church regarding its stance on same-sex marriage and LGBTQ clergy.

A Quiet but Important Schism

There is a growing schism going on in within Christianity in America. It has been slow and subtle, but it is reaching the point where serious disciples of Jesus Christ are starting to take notice. This schism is centered around two important points:

Is the Christian walk about salvation, or holiness?
The Church’s relationship with the world.

Jesus warned that many who called Him “lord” would be condemned to eternal hell. Jesus and the Apostles warned that a great apostasy would infect the professing church in the days leading up to the Lord’s return. The Bible is clear that evil would grow exponentially in the final days and that Christians are to be a unique, holy people set aside for the glory of God.  This means the true Church of Jesus Christ should be increasingly contradictory to the teachings and behaviors of this wicked world. Instead, some churches are intent on looking more like the world.

Mike and Crash discuss this great schism and how Christians who are serious about pursuing holy living can determine if they are in a church that is increasingly unique, or one that is conforming to the world.

Christian Devotionals: Quick Fix or Contextual Study?

A lot of Christians read quick, daily devotionals as part of their routine. The concern is in some cases it has replaced reading and studying God’s Word in depth as we become busier and busier and are looking for that “quick fix” instead of a deep, intensive Bible study.

That is certainly not to say that all devotional studies are bad or wrong; but a devotional written by man will often have the slant or perspective of the writer and may or may not accurately reflect God’s message or context on the subject. The best devotional study we can do is one directly from the Bible itself since it is inspired by God and eternal truth.

Pastor Jeff Solwold of Calvary Chapel in Madison joins us the good and bad of daily devotionals for Christians and how to use God’s Word to gain the wisdom and insight we need to navigate life in these challenging times. Pastor Jeff can be heard weekdays at 5a.m. here on Q90 FM Christian Truth Radio.

Comments and Questions Every Friday

Every week we receive so many great comments and questions from listeners to Stand Up for the Truth. We’ll get to as many as we can today!

Question of the week: What are your thoughts on the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) having Nancy Pelosi speak to Christian college leaders recently?

A few responses: “one of the many reasons I no longer call myself Evangelical,” “What could she even remotely bring of value to a discussion?” “That’s like having an atheist preach from the pulpit,” and “I think the NAE needs to share the gospel with Nancy Pelosi and the importance of repentance and obeying God’s Word.”

We also share a stirring testimony from a Christian woman that had an abortion years ago and kept it to herself. Now after all this time she has received the forgiveness and healing of Jesus, and has been encouraging the body of Christ to stop being silent on this pivotal issue.

We also discuss:

Home churches: when is it time to consider leaving your seeker-sensitive or unbibilcal church?
What has happened to rational, respectful debate and dialogue?
Pastors that rarely ever preach on the Old Testament
What does it mean to enter into the rest of God, Hebrews 4?

Supporting Deception by Our Silence

What people need now is more clarity and less confusion. Media, government and public education continue to push an agenda clouded in moral relativism, appealing to our desires and emotions but short on facts and reality. A political example would be the “New Green Deal” being advanced by Democratic presidential candidates. It sounds wonderful, but it glosses over the potential destruction it could bring to our economy and government infringement on our way of life.

What we all need is more clarity and less confusion. For Christians, we need church leaders who are clear about the Word and doctrines of God, leaders who stand strong against the deception of the enemy. But instead of clarity we seem to be getting neutrality, silence, or double speak from too many Christian leaders in America.

Pastor Mike Abendroth of No Compromise Radio joins us to discuss how and why the church must bring biblical clarity in the midst of confusion and equip believers to do ministry and be light in a dark world.

My Shepherd and a Weeping Prophet

Dave Wager of Nicolet Bible Institute and Silver Birch Ranch joins us to discuss two crucial men and lessons from the Old Testament that are important for believers these days.

First, we look at the “weeping prophet” Jeremiah: a man called by God to bring a warning to God’s people and call them to repentance only to be beaten, tortured and ignored.

And we look at Dave’s new book titled My Shepherd Psalm 23, a children’s book that brings the assurance that our shepherd, Jesus Christ, will always protect us and never abandon us.

An Unclear Battle Cry from Church Leadership

Make no mistake: as Christians we are at war with this world. No, we do not use the world’s weapons or tactics, but Paul says in 2 Corinthians 10 that we have divine (spiritual) weapons able to to destroy arguments and lofty opinions of this world that are opposed to God and truth.

But many are wondering why a growing number of church leaders are not calling and equipping believers to fight this crucial spiritual battle for the eternal souls of our friends and neighbors. Where are the leaders rallying, challenging, and equipping Christians for this battle? We seem intent on looking more and more like the world we are supposed to win to Christ.

Jay Seegert of The Starting Point Project joins us to talk about the crucial need for church and family leadership in these days of growing confusion and evil.

American Christianity’s Slide Into Apostasy

This morning, Crash Connell interviews Mike about his latest powerful and provocative book challenging the direction of a growing number of churches in our nation. Mike discusses the demarcation forming between Biblical Christian Churches and “American Christianity” churches and how a growing number of churches and denominations are transforming churches toward secular culture, leading many into a false sense of eternal security.

You can pre-order Mike’s new book at biblicalanswerguy.com or at Amazon. It is a powerful, provocative book that will lead you to an honest self-assessment of your life as a professing believer and discover if the church you belong to is conforming to the world or the Word of God.

Deeper Faith, Honest Questions, Sharing the Gospel

Two fantastic guests on the program means #doubletruththursday. Is that a thing? Anyway…

Today, Mike and David welcome first-time guest, evangelist, Willie Herath of Ratio Christi in southern California and we discuss apologetics, deeper questions in the faith, and how to effectively respond to nonbelievers. How important is it for us to be ready to respond when people have questions or have objections to Christianity. We often find out that they really did not know much about the evidence for the Christian faith and the Bible.

We also talk with radio host, Mike Zander, from Utah’s Key Radio where he reaches out to Mormons in Utah with the gospel. He’s in town today and in-studio with Mike LeMay and David Fiorazo.

Are We Turning Toward or Away From God?

Mike and David look at a challenging article by Shane Idelman admonishing the Church to start living and acting like the Church instead of caving to the pressure and beliefs of secular society. And — breaking news — in case you haven’t heard:

The church is not a building or a denomination… You and I as believers are the Church!

The sad reality is that Jesus warned that many who think they are saved and going to heaven are instead headed to eternal hell. Paul tells us to continually test ourselves to prove that we are truly in the faith and have not fooled ourselves. The committed follower of Jesus Christ is willing to do this on a continual basis; the professing Christian who has fooled themselves never thinks twice about it. They have been lulled into a false sense of eternal security by the father of lies and a professing “church” that is afraid to offend people by teaching about sin, repentance and the pursuit of holiness. Together today we will examine ourselves.

In our first segment, we talk Biblical apologetics with Aaron Marshall of Ratio Christi Ministries.

Time for the Church to Turn Back to God

The world is what it always will be: Full of people who love self and power and despise God and His Word. Christians are called to stand out as a peculiar people full of eternal hope in Jesus Christ and sharing that hope with lost people. But many fear that as the “church” has sought compromise and common ground with the world that she has lost her moral standing and actually is contributing to the growing evil in society instead of opposing it and offering a solution.

It’s time to turn back to God with repentant hearts, asking His forgiveness for squandering our calling as light in this dark world. But do we as professing Christians, along with those who lead us, have the humility and strength to get on our knees and repent before God for our failures? Or will we continue to look more and more like this world Jesus said we were to hate and that would hate us?

Elijah Abraham, a former Muslim and now born-again believer, travels the world teaching the Word of God and equipping Christians in persecuted nations to share the gospel in the midst of danger. Elijah joins us to look at the tepid condition of American Christianity and what we must do before it’s too late.

The Church’s Dilemma with Israel

Paul is warning believers not to dismiss God’s eternal promises to Israel because many will be saved in the final days. But an increasing number of professing Christians are turning away from Israel and supporting her enemies.

Pastor and best-selling Author Carl Gallups joins Mike and David this morning to talk about his new book that in just a few short weeks is already a best-seller. It looks at how biblical Christianity is starting to spread in Israel and the controversy surrounding recently deceased Rabbi Zev Porat and a controversial message he left to be opened upon his death.

Why Am I So Passionate About Being A Watchman?

I received a phone call earlier this week from a listener asking me if I could take a few minutes and give the “big picture” of what I am seeing in our nation and the warning message I am trying to deliver.  So here goes:

America, founded on Judeo-Christian law and principles, has abandoned that foundation over the past 50 years.  God has been kicked out of our schools and government; we have murdered more than 60 million babies in the womb; we have redefined marriage; and we have told God that He is flawed in how He created us—that just because he created us male or female that he had no right to do that since we should be able to choose ourselves the gender we prefer.

America has gone from a Christian nation to an “Anti-Christ nation”.  And while we should use our freedom of speech and religious expression, along with our voting power, to try to reverse the slide of this once-great nation, we must accept the inevitability of what the Bible forecasts:  That one day soon every nation will turn on Israel and against God in defiance.  There is no “USA” exclusion in the Word of God…

Tough Questions, Honest Answers

TODAY’S QUESTIONS

Should Christian church leaders hold their members accountable for unbiblical beliefs about creation, abortion, and same-sex “marriage”?
It is a sad day when our president stands up for the unborn, but so many preachers sit back and say nothing.
We have a responsibility to speak into another Christian’s life about biblical truth, but need to remember the Holy Spirit does the convicting, not us.
When turtle eggs are protected classes but babies are murdered in the womb, the end must be near.
Why don’t more Christians and Americans see the signs of the times and what is coming?
Persecution of Christians in the U.S. is imminent so why not start more home churches before it gets worse?
The National Association of Evangelicals has become a shill for social justice advocates.
Is the damage done to our nation by liberal ideology so destructive it is irreparable?

Dark History of Margaret Sanger: Why Should We Care?

What Adolf Hitler did to millions of Jews through eugenics and sterilization, Planned Parenthood founder, Margaret Sanger has dwarfed by pioneering a movement leading to the abortion of over one hundred million babies in the United States since the 1920s. Sadly, most people are ignorant of this horrible history leading to ideas such as population control and euthanasia. Proud promoter of eugenics and racism, Margaret Sanger is celebrated today by most feminists and liberals. So what’s the truth behind this dark history?

Is American Christianity Selling its Soul?

The abandonment of God’s Word and principles by Christian leaders in America continues to kick into increase with each passing year. Willow Creek’s Global Leadership Summit keeps bringing in speakers who defy God’s Word and Law, elevating them (secular progressives) as leaders that Christians should emulate. And now, the National Association of Evangelicals invites House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to speak to Christian College professors about the need for Evangelicals to support her fight against legal immigration policies and common sense.

This is the same Nancy Pelosi who at every opportunity supports legislation leading to more abortions, and a professing Catholic that is allowed to remain a Catholic in good standing in spite of her support of infanticide. Has the leadership of American Christianity completely sold the “church” out by compromising with and embracing an anti-biblical world view?

In our first segment, Mike and David talk about Christianity and athletics with our guest Kellen Cox of Fellowship of Christian Athletes. And in segments two and three, we tackle compromising denominations and church organizations.

A Unique and Peculiar People

In 1 Peter, Christians are called to be a holy people, set aside by God to be light in the darkness of this world. Our joy, attitude and behaviors should be so distinct from the ways of this world that people cannot help but notice that we are a unique, yes perhaps even a strange people.

But increasing studies show that there is little to distinguish many professing Christians from this world. From our attitudes to our behaviors we often seem anything but a unique and holy people. As the world grows more confusing and full of contradiction how can we as disciples of Jesus stand out all the more, pointing people to the eternal hope we have?

Dave Wager of Nicolet Bible Institute and Silver Birch Ranch joins us to discuss the calling and challenge of living like a unique, holy people set aside for the glory of God.

Time for the Church to Take a Strong Stand – on the Basics

Mike and David look at a joint statement from Evangelical and Catholic leaders condemning New York’s expanded abortion law. But is making a strong statement enough if it is not backed up by righteous action? Instead of merely condemning the actions of New York legislators, should churches start to hold church members accountable if they approve of abortion or continue to support political candidates that endorse the slaughter of innocent children in the womb? Should church discipline be used to make a strong statement to church members about this crucial biblical issue?

In our first two segments, we look at sexuality, gender and marriage according to God’s Word. No surprise that polls show a majority of people in our nation who call themselves Christians approve of homosexual marriage, and an increasing number actually believe that a person’s gender could be “fluid,” insinuating that perhaps God made mistakes – if He in fact did create us. Pastor Randy White joins us to bring us back to the fundamentals of God’s Word regarding sexuality, gender, marriage and family.

Comments Discussed, Questions Answered!

No topic is off limits. Every Friday, we tackle tough questions and challenges that believers are going through. Here are some of this week’s comments:

How do we determine the difference between a person/church leader being wrong, embracing heresy, or an apostate?
The church we attend has no youth group and our pastor said we could start one at home. We’re having a hard time finding a new church that teaches the hows and whys along with sound doctrine. Advice?
The sad abortion law passed in New York is a testimony to the evil that has gripped America. When the church cowers for fear of public opinion or government, it ceases to be a church and becomes a lapdog for immorality.
Have you noticed a shift in Christian music from pointing to God to being more catchy and entertaining, from vertical worship to horizontal “worship”?
What is the best way to leave a church – quietly or letting people know why you decided to leave?
