Lemay & Fiorazo: The Future of Christianity in America

Lemay & Fiorazo: The Future of Christianity in America

2019 will bring powerful and unique challenges and opportunities for the Christian Church in America. Satan’s battle against the Church will intensify as he acquires more and more allies to join him in his plan to neutralize the Church by making it look more like the secular culture it is supposed to resist and oppose.

We start this new year by looking at the prophetic signs of 2018 that might be pointing to the return of the Lord, along with the increased persecution of true believers around the world. Is this persecution a preview of the life coming for true believers in America?

Your Questions & Comments

At the end of the week, Mike answers your questions and comments live on the program. This week, Crash is filling in for David to discuss:

Difference between apostasy and heresy
Eternal security of the Believer
Are we hypocrites when we admonish homosexuals while pretending we have no sexual sin in our lives?
More discussion around our victory in court earlier this month
Does our program share more Scripture daily than some local churches during their services?
Andy Stanley’s call to “unhitch” from the Old Testament

A New Age Invasion into Christianity

When we do not hide God’s Word in our heart and think on it regularly it is easy for false teachings and dangerous movements to find a place in our minds and hearts. Things that might sound good are actually dangerous beliefs that can lead us away from God and His Word, leading to all sorts of problems. While it is a broad term, “New Age” Philosophy is one of these dangerous belief systems, and we see it subtly infiltrating the hearts and minds of a growing number of professing Christians. James Walker of Watchman.org joins us to discuss the subtle dangers of New Age Philosophies.

In our final segments, Mike and Crash look at some news items that should grab our attention including China’s new way of identifying and arresting bible-believing Christians and Amazon’s embracing of Orwellian style surveillance systems cleverly cloaked as “security and convenience” for its customers.

Gathering for Worship at Christmas

Christmas Eve and Day are the most widely attended church gatherings every year in our nation. From committed believers to professing Christians fulfilling an “obligation”, millions gather to hear about the birth of Jesus Christ, God in the flesh. These church services vary in scope, with many just focusing solely on the birth of Jesus but others using the opportunity to hear the full gospel message, including His death, burial and resurrection. And many of the beliefs we have come to embrace about the Christmas celebration are a combination of scripture and man-made beliefs and traditions.

Pastor Randy White joins us this morning to discuss some facts about the time of the birth of Jesus we might not be aware of.

Standing Up to Bullying and Intimidation

Rarely does outright persecution just happen out of the blue. It usually seeps in gradually, starting with free people not being diligent and thinking the persecution of another individual or institution is none of their concern. Once the proponents of persecution see that we lack the courage to stand up for others they naturally assume we will lack the backbone to stand up for ourselves, and they begin to pick away at our freedoms, breaking down our resistance.

In every institution in our nation we are seeing Bible-believing Christians marginalized and attacked. From education to media to government itself, witnessed by the unconstitutional ordinance the City of De Pere tried to impose on local churches, the enemy is testing our will and commitment to God. Sadly, as I personally witnessed here in De Pere, there are some churches that decide to sit the battle out letting the other 5 brave churches who stood with us do all the fighting. This morning, we look at the expanding attack against the religious freedoms and conscience of Christians in America.

In our first segment, we are joined by Laurie Stewart, President of “Women in Apologetics”. We look at the crucial role Christian women play in teaching other women and our children correct biblical apologetics.

When Human Emotions Are Held Higher Than God’s Word

Our human emotions are based on circumstances, prejudices, and programming. The heart is sick and emotions can lie to us. But God never changes and is incapable of lying. So when our human emotions conflict with God’s Word it is clear that the truly born-again believer should trust in God’s Word no matter what the world is trying to sell us. But the exact opposite is happening in our society and even in a growing number of churches. Logic and rational thought based on God’s Word is being replaced with humanistic ideals and emotional over-reactions to important issues.

John Loeffler of Steel on Steel Radio joins us for a discussion on the dangers to the church and our nation when irrational emotion becomes the bellwether for right and wrong instead of God’s Word.

Increasing Persecution of Christians in India and Beyond

Elijah Abraham, a former Muslim and now born-again believer in Jesus Christ, travels around the world teaching and equipping pastors and Christians where persecution is a daily occurrence.  Many of them risk their lives, traveling many hours to join other believers in Christian fellowship.

Elijah just returned from India, a Hindu nation where the government might say they allow people to worship freely, but persecution and the murder of Christians is accelerating rapidly. Elijah joins us to talk about the plight of Christians in India, and also share his thoughts on how prepared Christians in America are if we face similar persecution in the coming years.

The Dr. Duke Show, Religious Freedom, and Radicals in Academia

Dr Duke Show hosts, Duke Pesta and Katie Petrick of Freedom Project join us today for some almost unbelievable education updates. You’re not going to believe what is actually happening on college campuses and in public school classrooms in America. Some in the LGBTQ community are now openly admitting their goal is to “groom young children.” Their agenda has moved on from diversity to inclusion. We discuss what they mean by “inclusion.”

We look at recent news stories showing how government-run education is repressing Christian thought and expression.

We also explain the good news from Friday that a judge struck down De Pere’s extremely broad, non-discrimination ordinance. Judge William Atkinsion upheld our challenge and struck down the ordinance calling it unconstitutional, ruling in favor of Christian ministries and religious freedom.

So praise God! Our legal challenge to the City of De Pere’s “non-discrimination” ordinance was successful.

Chipping Away at Christian Freedoms

We see and hear the stories every day of Christians in China, Iran, Pakistan and Africa being harassed, imprisoned and sometimes murdered for their faith in Jesus Christ. We see the stories here in America of Christians being bullied and intimidated into silence. Yet, we cannot seem to connect the dots. This bullying and intimidation is a precursor to the coming violent persecution of Christians here in America—a persecution few churches and individuals are prepared for.

This morning, Mike and David look at growing persecution in China, along with ways technology is being used to soften our resistance to “Big Brother”, setting us up to walk into slavery as a people.

We also visit with Travis Barham of Alliance Defending Freedom to discuss a legal battle against the University of Colorado’s campaign to kick a Christian Ministry, Ratio Christi, off College campuses.

Is a True Believer’s Salvation Eternally Secure?

A couple weeks ago we interviewed Pastor Mike Abendroth on the doctrine of eternal security of the true believer through faith in Jesus Christ.  Some listeners have written claiming our belief is wrong and that the belief in the eternal security of the believer is wrong and dangerous. So today Pastor Abendroth joins us again to address those concerns on this very important doctrine.

We will also talk with Mike about sincere questions unbelievers have about God and The Bible and how the Church has a responsibility to answer their sincere questions honestly, because if we cannot they will find the wrong answers in the world.

Preparing & Protecting the Flock

In our final segment today, we’ll cite yet another example of the radical LGBTQ movement actually hurting the people they claim to be helping. This time, their insane policies are harming battered women by putting transgender issues above the safety of vulnerable women.

In our first two segments, elders have a responsibility to teach the Word of God, equip believers, and protect the flock against false teachers infiltrating the church. But what about the dangers of the increasing anger and evil in our society? What is the responsibility of church leaders to also physically protect its members?

Are we prepared to handle emergencies when we gather as believers. Today’s guest spent 35 years in law enforcement and eleven years as a pastor. An expert on church security, Jimmy Meeks joins us from Texas to discuss the importance of churches developing a strong safety and preparation plan.

Keeping an Eye on Israel, Prophecy

As our nation continues to be distracted by media spin, alleged Russian collusion, politics, social issues, holidays, and the daily drama of the Stock Market, many are ignoring events in Israel and the Middle East that may be pointing to the continuing fulfillment of biblical prophecy. While it is currently in rebellion against God because of rejecting Jesus as Messiah, Israel is nonetheless very important to God and His final plans for this world are centered on Israel…and a lot is going on there that most are ignoring.

Pastor and bestselling author, Carl Gallups, a student and teacher of biblical prophecy, joins us to share details on interesting news many are ignoring about Israel.

In our final segment, you’ll never guess who Democrats and Humanists in Massachusetts are blaming for all the world’s problems from racism to climate change. We look at the continuing campaign to silence the Christian worldview in the public venue.

Questions, Comments, and Biblical Answers

Questions, Comments, and Biblical Answers

Questions and comments from listeners today include:

Is it wrong that I don’t tithe to my church but instead support Christians organizations and ministries that are spreading the gospel and equipping believers? My pastor said this is wrong, but my church is not making disciples.
Are Word Faith or prosperity preachers crooks for making promises that God will bless people financially if they give money to them?
As believers, can we sanctify ourselves?
I am a former Muslim and appreciate the grace you exhibit in reminding people not all Muslims are terrorists in waiting.
Listening from Alberta Canada, we attend a large church that is biblical and has good leadership. But groups are growing within our church following a lot of Bethel propaganda believing everyone should speak in tongues and prophesy. Some claim those who do not aren’t filled with the Spirit. What can I say to my friends about this?
Regarding the Mark of the Beast, I have friends who claim that when a person allows an electric device to be installed, even a pacemaker or does electronic banking, it’s wrong. Aren’t they overreacting?
Is Hebrews 6 referring to those who were not saved to begin with or those who lost their salvation?
Israel is a free republic like America, but aren’t the two nations spiritually “un-Christian” considering only a small remnant are true, converted believers in Jesus Christ?
Love the show on creation and evolution with Jay Seegert (December 5). Too many debates about creation focus on science rather than Scripture and end up veering away from the fact of a literal six-day creation and the age of the earth being thousands of years old, not millions.

Feelings and Opinions Vs Beliefs and Truth

Feelings, opinions, beliefs and truth are parts of the thought process that leads to our ultimate actions and behaviors. But the order in which they form our complex thought and subsequent action makes all the difference in the world. If we get them in the wrong order we can start down a slippery slope where our beliefs and actions contradict what God says in His Word, and nothing good will come out of that. But if we align them correctly according to the teachings of the Bible, we can lead a life of joy, victory in Christ, and the peace of God.

Dave Wager of Silver Birch Ranch and Nicolet Bible Institute joins us to discuss how to correctly line up these elements comprising our human thought process, and the dangers of incorrectly prioritizing them.
