Who are the Nephilim?

Who are the Nephilim?

Genesis 6:1-4 are very controversial verses to many Christians.  They deal with a group called the “Nephilim” and they have been the center of controversy and various biblical interpretations for thousands of years.

Tim Chaffey has written a new book on these fascinating creatures, attempting to answer many questions Christians have about the Nephilim.  Were they fallen angels or simply sinful men?  What did they do and why?  And if they are fallen angels have we heard the last from them?

Time and Persecution Will Tell

Time and Persecution Will Tell

This morning Mike and Crash read your comments and answer your questions using God’s Word.  Our discussion this week with John Loeffler and Gary Kah have sparked discussion on how professing Christian Churches will respond to discrimination, pressure and persecution.

The Hebrew Roots Movement, “experiencing God” and “SOZO” type ministries are also discussed.

The Spiritual Side of Radical Liberalism

The Spiritual Side of Radical Liberalism

It would be a tragic mistake to think that the seismic lurch to the far left by radical politic leaders in our nation is either temporary, isolated or without spiritual motivation.  Rather than a political movement, radical Liberalism is part of a movement bent on uniting the world around global humanism, turning our backs on God.  And the Word of God warns us of this tragedy as Jesus prepares to return to judge the nations.

Gary Kah of Hope For the World joins Mike and Crash today to discuss how the radical liberal movement in the U.S. is tied to godless globalism, and how Christianity is its number one threat and target.

Are We Being Conditioned to Hate Each Other?

Are We Being Conditioned to Hate Each Other?

The Bible tells us the one thing that should distinguish God’s people from the world is our love of Him and one another.  We are taught to not only love one another as Christians, but to forgive our enemies, pray for them, and never respond to hatred with hatred.  We are to be a unique and holy people, separate from the ways and teachings of this world.

But that is not what Satan and this world wants.  It is taunting us, hoping to provoke us toward anger and hatred, so they can say that we Christians are just as bad as them.  Once the light of the world is neutralized what is to stop the world’s march toward evil?

John Loeffler of Steel on Steel radio joins Mike LeMay and Crash Connell this morning to discuss how we are being conditioned to hate rather than love, and how we can avoid this trap.

Rampant Evil Against God’s People

Rampant Evil Against God’s People

In Romans 1, Paul warns that people who reject the truth of God are turned over to a reprobate mind to do unspeakable evil.  Mike and David discuss three examples of growing evil against Christians in China, Africa and India, and discuss how long it might be before that evil spreads to the U.S. and threatens Christians here.

We also talk with Pastor Frank Figueroa of Reasons For Hope Ministry on the challenges of reaching the people of Hawaii with the gospel, and talk about how our difficult challenges are God’s way of strengthening and preparing us for the work He has given us.

Listener Questions and Comments: No Topic Off Limits!

What are the topics on the hearts and minds of Christians today? Here are some of the important issues we tackle today:

The Old Testament Law and works vs. grace – the law is good but cannot save us
So-called “progressive Christianity,” a cancer to the church
God is patient with us so we should be patient with other Christians with faulty doctrine

The importance of youth pastors teaching God’s Word to kids and not just entertaining them
What do the Democrat presidential debates and Communist China have in common?

Should Christians fight or resist the coming persecution of the church in America?

Is Christian Persecution in America Just Around the Corner?

Is Christian Persecution in America Just Around the Corner?

Today we take another look at the state of Christianity in America and discuss the real hostility and discrimination against believers in Christ, as well as the possibility the gospel may soon be banned in our nation.  We discuss the so-called Equality Act and its threat to Bible-believing Christians, and explain how the church itself has practically opened the door to welcome discrimination against God’s truth and the gospel. Why? Because we want to be loved by a world that hates Jesus and His Word.

Dismantling the Lies of the Enemy

Dismantling the Lies of the Enemy

The only way to dismantle lies is to respectfully confront them with truth. We try doing this on our radio program when it comes to lies not only in our culture but sadly, within churches in America. Our guest is a professional ‘lie-debunker’ and travels around the world sharing the hope of Jesus Christ with people deceived by the clever deception of the enemy.

Today’s guest is Carl Kerby of Reasons for Hope Ministry! He’s back to talk about their video series titled “debunked” and the impact it is having in spreading the truth, love and grace of the gospel.

“…but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect.” 1 Peter 3:15

Concerns About Calvinism, and More Questions & Comments

Concerns About Calvinism, and More Questions & Comments

Recently, we’ve received more listener questions on the 500 year old topic of Calvinism vs. Arminianism. Is this debate necessary and productive?  Or is it becoming a source for self-righteous condemnation and hatred of our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ?  Is it important that we understand election, predestination and who is called before we can accept the gift God has given us through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ?

Also mentioned: why not taxpayer-funding for adoption rather than abortion? Mark of the Beast, word of faith theology, when does worship become entertainment, biblical marriage, and the persecuted church.

Are We Prepared?

Are We Prepared?

In our first segment, we visit with Dr. Corey Miller, president and CEO of Ratio Christi Ministries, discussing the growing threats to religious freedoms on school campuses.

Mike and David also look at a perspective on persecution from David Curry, President of Open Doors, USA.  Mr. Curry admonishes the American Church for being enamored with entertainment while our Christian brothers and sisters around the world face imprisonment, torture and even death fore their faith in Jesus Christ.  Are we as a church detached from our suffering family in Christ?

The Deception and Dilemma of Progressive Christianity

The Deception and Dilemma of Progressive Christianity

Our nation is seeing an infusion of radical progressive thought threatening the very foundation and future of our nation.  The Church in America is also witnessing a surge in hyper-liberalism leading many to question the fundamental and traditional teachings of the Apostles and early Church.  Is Progressive Christianity to be considered a part of Biblical Christianity or does it contradict Scripture?

Jay Seegert: Zeal without Knowledge

Jay Seegert: Zeal without Knowledge

Jay Seegert of The Starting Point Project joins Mike and Crash this morning to look at some beliefs of Christians that are just not found in the Word of God and the importance of making sure our zeal is well grounded in truth and supported by the Bible.  Jay also discusses the amazing complexity of the human body, pointing to the truth that we were fearfully and wonderfully made by God and not a random act of nature.

The Peace of God

The Peace of God

Paul tells us in Philippians Chapter 4 that we should rejoice in the Lord at all times, not be anxious and receive the peace of God that surpasses all human understanding.  Now which of us would not want total peace?  Yet which of us as Christians truly experiences it?

We have been forgiven of our sins and received the promise of eternity with God in heaven, yet we continue to struggle and worry about this life.  Instead of exhibiting peace we are often filled with angst.

Dave Wager of Silver Birch Ranch and Nicolet Bible Institute joins Mike and Crash today to discuss what the peace of God looks like and how we can enter it and enjoy the life He has given us.

The Dangers and Challenges in Sharing the Gospel

The Dangers and Challenges in Sharing the Gospel

Sharing the gospel in foreign lands has always been difficult, but these days there are challenges that are making the task increasingly difficult and dangerous.  Radical Islam has been emboldened by ruthless leaders and a media willfully silent on its evil actions. Even within missionary circles there seems to be confusion on how best to share the gospel, making the task all the more difficult.

Elijah Abraham of Living Oasis Ministries regularly travels around the world sharing the gospel and teaching church leaders to equip their church members in sound doctrine for the work of evangelism and discipleship.  He joins Mike and David to discuss the increasingly difficult challenges of missionary work, and how some mission ministries are making the task even more difficult by preaching a watered-down or even false gospel.

Growing Acceptance of Marxism in Churches

Growing Acceptance of Marxism in Churches

As American Christianity generally bends over backwards to be seen as “loving” to the world, we have seen secular culture extend its influence within the church.  From the social justice movement to the powerful LGBTQ lobby, we see more and more churches accommodating things of this world directly contradictory to the Bible.  And now, with another presidential election on the horizon we are seeing an enhanced push for the church to embrace something that is directly opposed to the Bible: Marxist Socialism.

Mike and David look at the growth of socialist ideals within professing Christianity and why this is ominous and dangerous to the church.

On the Brink of Middle East War?

On the Brink of Middle East War?

Tension between the United States and Iran are growing and many fear a war might be inevitable, as the U.S. opposes Iran’s quest for nuclear weapons that they have stated they would use to wipe out Israel.  As the world looks on through the lens of their world view we as Christians try to understand these events through the prophetic lens of the Bible, which warns us of upheaval and wars as the enemies of God oppose Him and Israel in the final days.

Pastor and best-selling Author Carl Gallups is a student of biblical prophecy and joins Mike and Crash this morning to share his perspective on the tensions between Iran and the U.S and Israel.  How do we as disciples of Jesus Christ pray and prepare for what might lie ahead?
