Increasing Persecution of Christians in India and Beyond

Elijah Abraham, a former Muslim and now born-again believer in Jesus Christ, travels around the world teaching and equipping pastors and Christians where persecution is a daily occurrence.  Many of them risk their lives, traveling many hours to join other believers in Christian fellowship.

Elijah just returned from India, a Hindu nation where the government might say they allow people to worship freely, but persecution and the murder of Christians is accelerating rapidly. Elijah joins us to talk about the plight of Christians in India, and also share his thoughts on how prepared Christians in America are if we face similar persecution in the coming years.

Growing Confusion, Fear and Violence

While God is a God of order, Satan is a master of deception, confusion and chaos. As our world continues to spin into confusion, it is apparent who is calling the shots: The accuser of the brethren, father of lies, and enemy of God. As Christians we should be able to see through the deception and fog, but too many believers seem to be spending less time in God’s Word and more time with things of this world. As a result, our vision becomes blurred to the point we cannot perceive and discern deception from truth. One interesting phenomenon we are witnessing is a self-proclaimed (formerly) “Christian Nation” having more people abandon biblical Christianity while in restricted and Muslim dominated nations, the gospel is being proclaimed and people are coming to saving faith in Jesus Christ. Elijah Abraham of Living Oasis Ministries is a former Muslim and now a passionate born-again believer who travels the world equipping Christians and church leaders to share the gospel in the Muslim world. He joins us to discuss what he is witnessing in both American churches and those in heavily Muslim nations.

Dismissing Doctrine, Islam, Witchcraft

Last week, some media outlets covered a story of a group of Witches gathering to cast a curse on Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. Their curse called for him to suffer physically and emotionally and lead to his eventual death. The secular outlets that covered it mostly laughed it off as foolishness. But to dismiss witches casting spells may be foolish and ignorant as well. Should these curses be dismissed or taken seriously?

Elijah Abraham has traveled to dozens of countries sharing the gospel with Muslims, and equipping Christian pastors and leaders to share the gospel in their nations. Some of these nations are ones where witch doctors and spiritual shamans cast similar spells. Abraham also equips Christians in nations where going public with your Christian faith might be met with violent opposition. He joins us to share his ministry experiences, and to discuss the effectiveness and maturity of professing Christian Churches in our own nation as we continue to see compromise with the world.

On the Brink of Cataclysmic Change?

You would be hard pressed to remember a time when world leaders faced such a series of important decisions that could lead to world wide war or calamity. Here are just a few things to consider: increased attacks against Israel by Hamas, an Iranian regime developing nuclear weapons; Russia is entrenched in Syria with an eye on Israel; Islam is sweeping across Europe and Asia; and Western nations are arguing about trade and tariffs which could lead to economic turmoil.

All of this is set against the background of Bible prophecy and is happening at a time when the ‘professing’ Christian Church in America and Europe seems to be floundering due in part to apathy, heresy, and an ecumenical movement that puts unity and peace above truth.

This week, a crucial summit is taking place between President Trump and North Korea’s Kim Jong Un spurred on by the president’s tough rhetoric against North Korea. Without God’s word as our anchor of hope, we could easily get depressed. But His word is truth and His promises everlasting. Gary Kah of Hope For the World has studied and written about the coming one world government and religion, and joins us to put all this into proper context and perspective.

The God of Israel, History – and America?

Fulfilled prophecy and God’s faithfulness throughout the Bible encourage us because we know we can trust that He will make good on the remaining prophecies regarding Israel, the return of Christ, and the end times. No nation or world leader comes into power apart from God causing or allowing it to happen. The book of Daniel states: “Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are his. He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning. He reveals deep and hidden things (Daniel 2:20-22).”

Understanding the End Game

Sometimes we can get so wrapped up in an event or time that we fail to take a step back and look at the big picture. If you take a snapshot of what is happening in the world these days it might look like this: A decaying moral society; leaders who care more about their personal wealth and power instead of serving those they lead; an imminent major war in the Middle East; and an overall feeling of anxiety permeating every aspect of society and the lives of many. Yes a simple snapshot at any given time can paint a powerful picture… and the picture we see these days is not a pretty one.

But God has given us His Word so that believers might not be deceived by what we see around us. We are to take note of what is happening around us so we can understand it in context of God’s promises. And our guest this morning is a voice of reason and hope for such a time as this.

Gary Kah of Hope For the World has written insightful books on the coming one world government and one world religion, all the while encouraging believers to always maintain the eternal hope of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Gary joins us this morning to look at the crisis in Syria that has the world on the brink of another huge war, along with the accelerating movement toward a one world government and religion where humanity will pledge its allegiance to the enemies of God.

Is the Middle East About to Erupt?

Here in our nation we have been focused on tragic school shootings and the continuing probe into potential “collusion” with Russia by the Trump Administration. Occasionally we turn an eye to the growing threat of a nuclear North Korea, but we hear little about rapidly changing and threatening events in the Middle East.

The Islamic world is fighting a civil war between Sunni and Shiite; Iran is threatening to attack neighboring Sunni nations and testing Israeli defenses; and Syria has been decimated with civil war, killing tens of thousands. And Turkey, once an ally of Israel, has become a radical Muslim nation and a true wild card in all this turmoil.

This morning Elijah Abraham, a former Muslim and now on-fire born-again believer in Jesus Christ, joins us for his perspective on the Middle East and the growing threat of Islamic terrorism here in the United States.

Desperate for God and His Truth – in India

We take so much for granted where our faith and freedoms are concerned. Too many Christians in America have lost the desire for spiritual things while it is evident so many people in other countries hunger for God’s Word and the truth. There are striking similarities between the lukewarm church in Laodicea from the book of Revelation and the comfortable, complacent church in  the United States.

We receive another first-hand account of the state of the church today with our guest, teacher and missionary, Elijah Abraham, who just returned from India where he taught and helped equip pastors there.

Jerusalem: Important Then and Now

As we prepare to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, we can’t help but hear about Bethlehem, Jerusalem, and Israel. But if we ignore the signs of the times including what is happening in Jerusalem, we risk missing important end times events. These prophetic signs from God point to the return of Jesus to judge all mankind and establish His everlasting Kingdom in which “the government will be upon His shoulders.”

Pastor Randy White joins us to discuss recent events in Jerusalem and the Middle East as well as some forgotten history of the holy land. Randy also shares some fascinating details we may not know about the Christmas Story. In segment three we touch on two articles that cover anti-semitism in France and the ‘bah humbug’ spirit trying to prevent prisoners from receiving religions education.

Jerusalem, Prophecy, and the Return of Israel

Today we check in with Pastor Carl Gallups regarding world events including President Trump’s public recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, and the prophetic implications of this bold, historic move. We discuss these and other questions:

Should Jerusalem be the capital of modern-day Israel?

Is God’s hand on President Trump or on the United States?

Can God use anyone or anything to further His plans?

Chapters referenced: Zechariah 12, Ezekiel 38, Isaiah 45,

The mantra of the radical LGBTQ movement for years has been that they just want “equal treatment.” That statement is proving to be a lie as the movement goes out of its way to shut down or silence anyone who opposes their ungodly lifestyle. In this new case, a donut shop in Maine called “The Holy Donut” simply wanted to help a poor family over Christmas but was forced to stop because of attacks by LGBTQ radicals. The increasing level of threats against Christian business owners and individuals show that LGBTQ activists are influencing public opinion and gaining support for their tactics of intimidation.

How SCOTUS Works, & the Significance of Standing With Israel

Over the past several decades, most presidential candidates declared they believe Jerusalem is the true capital of Israel and that they would move the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem if elected. History has proven this to be political rhetoric to capture more votes as no past president has followed through on the promise – Until now. Yesterday, President Trump kept his campaign promise–a rarity for candidates these days–and proclaimed the U.S. recognizes Jerusalem as Israel’s capital city and would begin plans to move our embassy there. Whatever you think of President, Trump it is certainly refreshing to see a candidate actually follow through on a campaign promise.

Other than Israel Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, world leaders are reacting with anger, claiming this will set the “peace process” back. This is the same ‘peace process” that has produced zero results for many decades. This morning we will discuss the potential effects of this courageous move by a controversial president.

In our first segment, we check in with Julaine Appling of Wisconsin Family Council and hear some fascinating insights on how the Supreme Court works, as well as her thoughts on the opening arguments in the Jack Phillips’ religious freedom case. Is religious freedom hanging in the balance and could it come down to one man’s vote?

Listener’s Show: Your Questions and Comments

Here are some of the questions and comments from this past week:

The large company I am applying for proudly supports the LGBTQ agenda and contributes to related causes. I was excited about the opportunity before I learned this, but now am conflicted. What do you think?
My daughter just told me she is bisexual and I’m in shock. She grew up in church, went to a private Christian school and attends a Christian college. What angers me is the church generally accepts LGBTQ lifestyles now.
Please clarify a Scripture you shared on a recent podcast, 1 John 4:3 about spirits that deny Jesus came in the flesh and are not of God.
You said American Christianity is looking more like Babylon these days than the church Jesus shed His blood to redeem. I sense this as well but could you expound on it please?
Here in Canada, we don’t have anything like your show and the sell-out by the church to government has already happened. Please continue warning Americans!
My husband and I are heartbroken. Our 12 year-old son just announced he is really a woman. We’re completely caught off guard and don’t even know how to confront this.

The Difficulty in Finding a Biblical Church

There are still some sound biblical Christian churches in America; a “remnant,” to be sure. But a growing number look more and more like the world than they do an assembly of God’s called-out people. A difficulty arises when you have been a member of a historically sound church, but it has been in the midst of a transformation where it is adopting the beliefs and values of this fallen world. This gradual shift is often so subtle that you cannot see the drift away from God and toward secular humanism.

Pastor Randy White has studied this trend and joins us to discuss how this drift of the church away from God has transpired, how we can spot it, and how to find a biblical church in a sea of growing heresy and apostasy.

What Happened to My Church?

Many Christians in America are asking that question these days as we see a growing number of churches change. The Gospel of reconciliation being replaced with consumerism and our “best life now”; moves of the Holy Spirit being replaced with emotional manipulation through loud music and fog machines; and churches that look more and more like the world Jesus told us would hate us and that we should hate.

But the changes introduced into American Christianity have been so subtle that many people do not even notice them until one day we suddenly feel like a stranger and alien in the very church we attended for years.

Jan Markell of Olive Tree Views and Understanding the Times Radio joins us to talk about the growing concerns of serious Christians about what they see happening in many of our churches these days.

The Dangers of Masculinity

The American Psychological Association recently released a study calling out what it perceives as the dangers of traditional masculinity warning that it leads men to hating women and LGBTQ people. As men are “marketed” to by corporate America we see confusing messages on what it means to be a man these days.

Are we to be the strong, silent, rugged, macho guy? Or the sensitive, nurturing, submissive guy who sits back quietly and just accepts things the way they are?

If we listen to the world we will be continually confused about what it means to be a man. But not surprisingly God’s Word has a lot to say about what real men are.

This morning, Mike discusses this issue with Dave Wager of Nicolet Bible Institute. What does it mean to be a man of God in today’s world?

We also look at an interesting perspective from a Christian musician who says that youth these days are being conditioned to worship their own self-image, and since the world is sending wrong messages to our youth about what their image should look like it is leading to dire consequences for an entire generation.

The Feminizing of American Christianity

God created men and women equal but uniquely different. In His master plan, men are to be strong and loving leaders and wives are to respectfully submit to their husband’s leadership. The Christian church in America needs real godly men, but at the time when they are needed most many are confused about what it means to be a true man of God. The world and its institutions that hate God have successfully minimized and redefined manhood, reducing many men to confused, quivering bowls of jelly instead of principled, strong leaders for the church and their families. And some believe that church leadership is also responsible for accommodating this feminizing of Christian men because they are not teaching us what it means to be Godly leaders of wives, families, and communities.

Pastor Carl Gallups joins us to discuss how society’s emasculation of men is infecting American Christianity, leading to dire consequences.
