Blaming Everyone but Ourselves: Where has Personal Responsibility Gone?

Blaming Everyone but Ourselves: Where has Personal Responsibility Gone?

We live in the growing era of triggering, snowflakes and safe spaces.  Most young people are being indoctrinated into the belief that their opinion or worldview is the only valid one and anyone who dares question them is a threat.  It all goes back to Adam, who when confronted by God about his sin blamed Eve and God Himself for his poor choice.

In our final segment this morning we look at an interesting perspective by David Hoffman at the Christian Post, claiming that all the confusion in society and the church is perhaps God’s way of beginning to separate the wheat from the chaff spoken of in Matthew 3:12 by John the Baptist.

Pastor Randy White joins us this morning to look at what the Bible says about personal responsibility and how taking responsibility for our own beliefs and actions is healthy for us as Christians.

The Allure and Danger of Freemasonry

The Allure and Danger of Freemasonry

Everyone wants to feel like they belong to something special, connecting with other people in some meaningful way.  Christians find it Christian fellowship; the world finds it in social media or sports.  Some are seduced by “secret societies” or Gnosticism, thinking they can acquire hidden knowledge and understanding for the select few. This morning we take a peak behind the veil of perhaps the greatest “secret society” in the world:  Freemasonry.  It is a movement shrouded in secrecy and mystery and many believe it is a portal to worshiping a false god or even Satan himself.Carl Teichrib, author of “Game of Gods” discussing the coming one world religion, joins us this morning to take a closer look at Freemasonry.  Can you be a true Christian and a Freemason at the same time?  Was our nation founded by Masons and do they still influence policy and direction today? And what is the goal and purpose of this most secret of societies?

Comments and Questions

As usual, we have way too many questions and comments to get to in one show. But here we go! Topics we touch on today include:Word-faith, prosperity gospel (blog on the subject mentioning Joel Osteen here)Mindfulness for children implemented in many public schools Would the so-called “Equality Act” pass the House and Senate, and do you think would Trump veto it? Home churches – how to start one and do it biblically A frustrated pastor getting resistance from elders and church members for addressing “social issues”Old earth or young earth? Hebrew Roots movement

A Confused and Lost Generation?

A Confused and Lost Generation?

The human mind, created beautifully by God but corrupted by sin, is subject to believing lies are truth if the lie is reinforced often enough.  Today’s generation of young people have been continuously lied to by Hollywood, the media, and a public education system that denies the glory of God. Too many are being indoctrinated into a life of futility and hopelessness because they are looking for meaning and security everywhere except God and His Word.Tyler Geffeny of Ratio Christi Ministries speaks at conferences and churches worldwide challenging and equipping Christians to become better biblical apologists to reach young people with the hope of Jesus Christ in a world that leads many to pursue self gratification.  Tyler joins Mike and David to discuss current trends and the agendas the church is up against, especially in the American university system.

When Church Becomes A Business

When Church Becomes A Business

This morning we look at the continued fallout from a couple of Chicago area megachurches that allowed secular principles and techniques to influence how they conduct church. Harvest Bible Church is reeling from the financial corruption of now dismissed Pastor James McDonald while Willow Creek is back in the news as liberal Democrat Senator Cory Booker is under fire from the LGBTQ community for speaking at the Willow Creek Leadership Summit a few years back.

In our first segment we visit with Julaine Appling of Wisconsin Family Council to discuss activity and strategy within the Wisconsin legislature. Pro-life legislation is being proposed knowing radical WI Governor Tony Evers will veto it. Is there a plan behind passing legislation that has little to no chance of being enacted?

A Frustrating and Disappointing Life?

A Frustrating and Disappointing Life?

We all get frustrated or disappointed with life at times.  Things do not go as well as we think they should or as well as we think we deserve.  The world tells us we can have our “best life now” and that the world is there for our pleasure and enjoyment, and when it doesn’t work out that way we feel the frustration of life’s daily challenges and obstacles. As disciples of Jesus Christ our attitude should be different.  God’s Word tells us that Jesus has overcome the world on our behalf…so why do we still struggle with life’s challenges and disappointments?  Could it be that our expectations of God are arrogant and self-serving?  Could it be that we have not taken the time to really know the God we claim to worship and trust?Dave Wager of Silver Birch Ranch and Nicolet Bible Institute joins Mike and Crash to discuss how a lack of knowing and trusting in God’s nature and character can lead to a life of frustration, depression or even defeat.

The Importance of Israel in Biblical Prophecy

The Importance of Israel in Biblical Prophecy

Where can we get the truth about attacks against Israel? Are they provoking these attacks? In the last 24 hours, more than 600 rockets have been fired at Israel from Gaza. The death toll is rising. And it seems what often makes the news is when Israel retaliates. The U.S. is moving a powerful naval armada into the Middle East to send a strong message to Muslim nations should they consider attacking Israel once again.Israel and specifically, Jerusalem is at the front and center of end times biblical prophecy, yet a growing number of Christians are ignorant of its importance or about God’s promises to protect Israel even in the midst of their rejection of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.Pastor and best-selling author Carl Gallups has studied Bible prophecy in depth and written several books about the rise of false gods in these final days, culminating with the coming temporary reign of Anti-Christ.

Fear of the Lord

Fear of the Lord

Born-again believers and disciples of Jesus Christ have been saved and granted eternal life with God through our belief and faith in the gospel and Jesus Christ.  Yet we are told in God’s Word that we are to have a “fear of the Lord” even as believers.  We are also told he is our “abba Father” and that we can approach His throne with confidence.  So what is a correct “fear of the Lord” in the life of a believer?  Mike and Crash tackle that listener question today. They also discuss the dilemma of professing Christians still believing abortion is OK with God; financial scandals in Christian Churches and ministries; when is it time to leave your church?; the dilemma of so-called “Liberal Christianity”.

America’s Battle for the Soul of Institutions and our Society

America’s Battle for the Soul of Institutions and our Society

Institutions in our nation and around the world are going through monumental change.  We are seeing governments, media, education, businesses, political parties, and sadly even churches embracing change in direction as well as values. John Loeffler of Steel on Steel Radio has studied this metamorphosis and the worldview behind the decline, and joins us to discuss the changing fabric of society and its institutions.  How should we as disciples of Jesus Christ understand and respond to this caustic progression (regression?) around us?

We All Have Assumptions; Plus, ‘Using Jesus to Promote Evil’

We All Have Assumptions; Plus, ‘Using Jesus to Promote Evil’

Anyone can say they’re a Christian. If you ask most Americans, including our politicians, they will probably say they “believe” in Jesus.  But if we don’t take the time to ask them exactly what they think about Jesus or who they believe He is, we can’t possibly know for certain if they are converts or counterfeits.  Progressive “Christians” claim they are doing the work Jesus commanded us to do.  The only problem is they are teaching and promoting the exact opposite of what Jesus taught, especially on major biblical issues.  When we assume a person is a Christian just because they say so, we are easily deceived.Speaking of assumptions, we welcome a new guest to Stand Up For the Truth, Dave Richardson.  He wrote a powerful book about assumptions and how they can deceive us and even hinder us in our walk with Jesus Christ. Richardson’s book is critically acclaimed and comes highly recommended, as it discusses how our deepest assumptions often control our lives for better or for worse.

Are Americans Losing Faith in Church?

Are Americans Losing Faith in Church?

With each new survey we see an emerging pattern regarding religion and Americans:  A growing disillusionment with institutionalized religion.  Young people are leaving “church” in massive numbers, and even older people are starting to question why they should be affiliated with a church or denomination.  Mike and Crash explore the numbers and reasons, including a very related story of the rise and fall of Pastor James McDonald, a mega-church pastor whose teaching show was carried by hundreds of Christian radio Stations until he recently was fired over a serious financial scandal which uncovered a lavish lifestyle that has left his former church on the verge of bankruptcy. In our first segment we visit with Conservative icon David Horowitz to discuss his new book “Dark Agenda: The War to Destroy Christian America”.

After Easter: Jesus is Lord and the Gospel must Advance

After Easter: Jesus is Lord and the Gospel must Advance

We are fresh off of Easter weekend as many of us celebrated the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ—God in the flesh who shed His blood for our redemption.  He has freed us from the power of death and sin.  But with the simple yet profound message of the gospel, many Christians are still often confused about what this life should look like.  Did Jesus die so I could be healthy, wealthy, or comfortable in this life?  Are my physical sufferings or trials a sign of a lack of faith?  If the Bible says Jesus has taken our sorrows, then why do we still struggle with sadness and anxiety?Pastor Randy White joins us to look at the promises of Jesus Christ and how we apply them in correct context to our lives as His disciples.
