Sanitized Socialism’s New Generation in America
Most of us have heard about the recent polls suggesting more Americans, and particularly those under 30, are softening to socialism. We hear the principles of socialism and so-called ‘income inequality’ being proclaimed by major Democrat presidential candidates. But where do Americans stand on this important topic and do people really know the true history about socialism?
Is the nation really shifting? Is there anything Christian about socialism? We discuss this today.
Witchcraft: from Culture to Classroom to Church?
All Hallows Eve, All Saints Day, Halloween, Day of the Dead, Harvest Festival, Thanksgiving, Advent, Christmas. The list could go on. As Christians, we live for Jesus Christ and celebrate Him. To live is Christ. He said to His followers “You are the light of the world.” What does that mean? How then should we live and can light mix with darkness?
We recently talked about Halloween and its origins, and discussed how Christians should celebrate it if at all. But we’re moving on to something that is evident in our culture and country year-round, sometimes obvious, often subtle: witchcraft. It’s prevalent in our culture and entertainment industry, kids games, the Internet, and in public school curriculum.
How has the church generally responded?
Friendship Over Truth?
There’s an old saying, “politics makes strange bedfellows,” but these days professing Christianity, government, and worldliness also seem to be aligning more often, developing very strange partnerships. We’ve seen so-called “Celebrity pastors” often embrace Hollywood stars or elite sports celebrities who claim to be Christians, but they often do so without a modicum of discernment or wisdom, causing more confusion in a a church that is confused enough already.
In our final segment today we look at a resolution passed by the Democratic Party that applauds “non-religious Americans” while disdaining Christian churchgoers. Our guest today is Don Veinot of Midwest Christian Outreach. He joins Mike and David to discuss how friendship seems to be more important than truth to a growing number of Christian leaders, and how heresy is on the rise in the church itself.
The Battle for Our Hearts and Minds
Jesus taught that the greatest commandment was that we love the Lord our God with all our heart, mind and soul. In today’s busy, fast-paced world there are many things bombarding us, fighting for our hearts and minds; distractions that take us away from glorifying and enjoying God. What are some of these distractions? Money, social media, politics, leisure, and entertainment just to name a few. And every one of these can demand our attention, passion, or loyalty. Some will go to great lengths to assure that they become the “masters” of our lives.

How Christian Students Handle Argumentative Atheist Teachers
Our youth are headed back to school—grade school, high school or college. There is a good possibility they may run into atheist teachers who will present theories and “teachings” that contradict the Word of God. How can we prepare our Christian students for a potential onslaught of propaganda and secular theory that will encourage them to abandon the Word of God for what is presented as “scientific fact” these days?

Christian Churches Skipping Faith Formation?
In segment 1, we have a discussion about what so-called Liberal Christianity is and how it is infecting a growing number of churches and denominations. We connect with author Dan Jensen. His excellent book is titled A False Kind of Christianity.
As we see more young people and leaders abandoning the Christian faith, it is important we assess their thought process and motives in doing so. (They are taking some followers with them and away from the truth.) To simply argue about whether or not they were ever truly converted believers can be unproductive.
The reality is that many younger people either want nothing to do with historical, Biblical Christianity or they are finding churches and denominations that are redefining and diluting Christian doctrines to line up with their worldly values and philosophies.
In our final segment today Mike and David share a thought-provoking perspective from John Stonestreet of BreakPoint about why this is happening and how we might address it.
Sexuality as a Gift From God
Sexual intimacy between a man and his wife are a great gift from God. This relationship is a human representation of the deep intimacy Jesus wants with His bride, the church. When a man and his wife are sexually intimate there is a deep physical, emotional and spiritual bonding that God blesses.
But as Satan often does, he takes something beautiful from God and twists it to deceive people. Today, rampant sexuality has led to destruction and disaster: abortion, broken marriages, divorce, and sexual brokenness and even gender confusion.

Would You Give Up Your Life for Christ? Persecution Update
In spite of all the violence in America, and a growing hatred for God and His Word, we are still very blessed as Christians to be Americans because of the religious freedoms we have. That could be changing. But we have not yet suffered to the point of torture or death for our faith in Jesus Christ.
The same cannot be said for millions of Christians suffering around the world, whose very freedom and life are in danger because of their faith in Jesus Christ. Apathy or Apologetics: What Can Christians Do?
A series of recent surveys asked youth who they trust for advice on important moral and practical decisions. Police, government, and even parents were on the list. But what was at the top? College Professors! This is obviously bad news for them, our country, and the Christian Church since the vast majority of College professors are progressive at best and anti-Christian and pro-socialism at worst.
Parents really have their work cut out for them today. Christian kids need a solid foundation of truth and a biblical worldview. Unless things change, things will only grow worse for our nation and the Church in America.

Affirming the Truth of God’s Word

Assumptions Can Be Dangerous
The dictionary defines an assumption as, “assuming something is true or taking a statement for granted.” When we believe something important is truth, and base our life and entire belief system around it only to find out the assumption was wrong, it changes the way we see everything. Sadly, too often in public education and media we are being led to assume certain false beliefs and philosophies are true, and this deception affects how we view God and life itself.
