Author: Stand Up For The Truth

God is Faithful

We hear it proclaimed almost every time we gather in Christian fellowship: “God is faithful!” There is certainly peace and security in knowing we worship the one true God who cannot lie or contradict Himself, and whose eternal nature and attributes are unchanging. It should give us great peace to know God cannot break His promises and that He provides a consistent message for us as His adopted children.

But is God’s faithfulness conditional upon us in any way, shape or form? Can he be moved or manipulated by our level of faith? And just what is God faithful to do for both those who commit to Jesus Christ as Lord and savior, and those who reject Him? Dave Wager of Silver Birch Ranch and Nicolet Bible Institute joins us for a discussion on the role of faith in the Christian life, and God’s faithfulness.

Sharing the Gospel in Utah

Jesus instructed His disciples to go and make disciples of all nations.  This is the calling and purpose of every true believer, and sometimes that calling puts us in very unusual places. Our guests this morning, Mike and Heather Zander, were called by God to a Christian radio ministry, Key Radio in Provo, Utah. This is a state with a high percentage of Mormons.  Mike and Heather are among less than one half of one percent of Christians in that area, and they join us to discuss the challenges and opportunities they face in this calling.

In our final segment, we discuss the tragic story of Otto Warmbier of Cincinnati, Ohio; recently released by North Korea after he was beaten and tortured into a coma over a year ago.  Evil knows no bounds in that dark nation where God is rejected and the Bible is outlawed.

Has Science become an Enemy of Biblical Christianity?

Modern science seems bent on manufacturing “evidence” to disprove the Bible and its account of creation. This version of science has been taught in public education and reinforced in secular media over the past 50 years, and it is taking its toll on the beliefs and views of a majority of people. But how reliable are the findings of modern science? Carl Kerby of Reasons for Hope joins us to discuss the growing conflict between the Bible and modern science.

In the third segment today, we also discuss the act of terrorism last night in London, a city teetering on the brink of chaos. This time the targets were Muslims leaving a Sunday night service at a Mosque.

Dangerous Rhetoric… Dangerous Events

The tragic shooting this week in Virginia of Republican Congressmen and staffers is a sad effect of the careless, hateful rhetoric that spews out of Washington politicians and our divided nation as a whole over the past two decades. Mentally unstable people get caught up in the media sensationalism and decide that violence is the logical answer. Is our nation on the brink of a social meltdown and political anarchy fueled by careless politicians and a reckless media? I think you know the answer. We will cover this story and others in our Media watch segment this morning. We also answer your questions from this week’s shows.

When Political Correctness Runs Rampant

This just a week after struggling comedienne, Kathy Griffin held up a severed head of President Donald Trump, days after a New York City Public Theater production of Shakespeare in the Park stabs a ‘Trump’ lookalike (Caesar) to death in a performance of ‘Julius Caesar,’ and days after Senator Bernie Sanders, in anger, suggested Christians that believe the Bible and work for public office.

Today’s guest is Elijah Abraham, is the founder and executive director of Living Oasis Ministries. Elijah’s story began in Baghdad in 1965 when he was born to an Iraqi Shi’ite Muslim family. Elijah joins us to discuss current events in light of Bible prophecy as well as the political correctness running rampant in America.

A Warning Shot to Christians in Government

Last week, Senator Bernie Sanders, who could have been elected President, said some very disturbing things when questioning the President’s nominee for Deputy Director of Management and Budget. Sanders did not question Russel Vought’s financial or management qualifications when grilling him; he questioned if he should be allowed to work in the government because of Vought’s Christian beliefs. Apparently, it all stemmed from a personal statement Vought made on his personal facebook page: “Muslims do not simply have a deficient theology. They do not know God because they have rejected Jesus Christ, His Son, and they stand condemned.”

According to God’s Word, Vought is correct and that seemed to drive Sanders crazy. Also today in our Rightly Handling the Word segment we discuss “Seed Faith Offering” statements that television preachers often use to get people to give to their organizations. Just what does God actually promise when we give generously, compared to what is promised by these televangelists?

Doubt, Skepticism and Confusion

Satan’s bag of tricks are not all that extensive. He usually sticks to the same tactic because it works. He placed doubt about God into Eve’s mind, and the result was sin and death entering the world. These days the tactic remains the same: Get people to doubt God and His Word, and convince them that we know better than God who we are and what is good. But today Satan has a variety of institutions to reinforce the doubt he wants to spread including media, public education, Hollywood, and even sometimes naive professing Christians.

Pastor Randy White joins us to discuss the growing skepticism about God in society and within the church, and how we combat it with sound theology and method.

Abandoned Faith: A Lost Generation?

There have always been problems with communication and understanding between generations. Every younger generation that comes along is viewed with skepticism by more elderly generations. But the gap in communication and understanding between today’s millennials and older people is in some ways like nothing we have ever experienced.

While it might be easy to just think they’ll grow out of it, it is important to understand that this younger generation faces serious challenges many of us have not faced; and they been raised in a public education system and media presence that has caused them to become skeptical about life as a whole.

We’re joined by a Christian apologist, researcher and author who has studied millennials extensively: Dr. Alex McFarland. He has written a new book Abandoned Faith: Why Millennials Are Walking Away and How You Can Lead Them Home, about the questions and struggles of millennials and how we can reach them with the truth and hope of Jesus Christ.

Religious Freedom Slipping Away

Today we cover two court cases that could have permanent damaging effects on religious freedom for Christians in America. They are blatant attempts to muzzle Christians by restricting how they can earn a living and provide for their families. If Progressives are victorious in these court cases, religious freedom as we have known it will become a thing of the past.

We’re also joined by Tina Maria Griffin of Counter Culture Mom to discuss the growing influence of Hollywood, television and video games on our children and how we protect them.

Five Hundred Years After The Reformation

This year, 2017 marks the 500th anniversary of Martin Luther’s Reformation Movement: An event with ground shaking consequences for Christianity and the world. Luther spoke out boldly against the corruptions he saw in the Roman Catholic Church at that time, and changed the world of Christianity by the stances he took. Today we look at Luther’s background and life as well as a few other individuals who were influential in the reformation of Christianity and getting the Holy Bible into the hands of the people. Pastor Mike Abendroth of No Compromise Radio, who just recently took a group of Christians on a tour of Reformation cites in Europe, joins us to discuss its affect on modern Christianity.
