The Perfect Timing of Christ the King

Jesus stepped down from the throne of God and set aside His crown of gold to temporarily wear a crown of thorns. The devil knew the promised Messiah would come—and that He would come from the Jewish people. So he tried to stop that from taking place. Remember King Herod tried killing all male babies under two years old (Matt. 2:16) in the vicinity of Bethlehem after hearing from the wise men where the prophesied child was to be born? So as we look deeper into the Christmas story, we realize that it doesn’t begin in Matthew or Luke. God had a masterful plan from the beginning…

Tis the Season… for Atheists to Seek Converts

It seems there is nothing Atheists detest more than the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. These promoters of “tolerance” literally lose their minds when people dare proclaim their belief and faith in the Son of God becoming human to bear the sins of man upon Himself.

Today we are joined by Dr. Alex McFarland to look at the atheist mindset and see why they seem so hypocritical when it comes to free speech and tolerance, trying to deny Christians the right to express our faith as we see best.

We will address the motive for anti-Christmas atheist billboards as well as the reasons behind the dwindling numbers of Bibles in hotel rooms today compared with a decade ago. There’s also an important court case in Indiana that might affect the rights of Christian Counselors, non-profits and churches to help people struggling with same-sex attraction.

Ignoring the Demonic in Entertainment and Politics

Seeds planted by the enemy and his followers countless decades ago are now being harvested in American culture and worldwide – and they have produced unimaginable debauchery and destruction. The problem is, too many Christians have chosen to look the other way as immorality spreads like an infectious disease. Pastor Joe Schimmel gives a strong warning to the church.

Wisconsin Again: Election Recounts, Bible Studies, and Media Bias

It’s interesting how Wisconsin keeps coming up in the battles for political power. Julaine Appling of Wisconsin Family Council shares her thoughts on the matter and the process of this voter recount. What are the possibilities involving the numbers of votes in WI, MI, and PA, and how could this affect the presidential election? What do Democrats stand to gain?

Aside from corruption or fraudulent practices, it’s a long shot at best to somehow find enough votes or mistakes that would actually swing the results in favor of Hillary Clinton. Talk about drama.

Entitlement vs Responsibility

A growing number of people want the good things of life without the hard work and responsibilities. People are being duped by the idea of free stuff including college tuition, healthcare, jobs, retirement benefits, all without any of the responsibility.

Christians must be discerning and not fall for the entitlement traps all around us. Today’s guest is Dave Wager from Silver Birch Ranch and Nicolet Bible Institute.

Reformation, Repentance, and Returning to Faith in Christ Alone

Today, we catch up with Pastor Mike Abendroth of No Compromise Radio. He recently returned from Germany and is hosting a trip there next year on the 500th anniversary of Martin Luter’s 95 Theses, a bold move which led to what we now understand as the Reformation of the Catholic Church.

Later in the program, Eric Kampman, President of Midpoint Trade Books, joins Mike and Dave. Eric has taught courses on book publishing at Harvard, Columbia, and New York University. He also speaks at conferences and for publishers and writers. His new devotional book is called Getting to Know Jesus.

Twisting Tolerance, Pulpit Freedom, and Political Correctness

The Left uses the Johnson Amendment to bully Christian pastors and groups with threats of losing their nonprofit status should they dare talk about the Bible as it relates to cultural, political, fiscal, and social issues, which all fall under the category of moral issues. We have grown up with a generation of churchgoers that believe it is illegal for their pastor to address candidates and elections in light of Scripture or church doctrine when there is no valid justification for believing that.

Reasons for Hope, Answers About Our Faith

1 Peter 3:15 tells us to always be prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for hope. These days, in a world spinning into disarray, people need all the hope they can get.

Real hope starts and ends by knowing who God is and His plan for this fallen world. But these days public institutions are peddling a false narrative about God and creation. Unless we can point them to the truth, people will remain lost and without help.

Carl Kerby of Reasons for Hope Ministries joins us this morning to discuss Creationism and how to point people to the truth of God in His Word.

Electing Leaders

In a little more than six weeks Americans will elect a new President to lead our nation for the next four years. One thing we do know is that elections have consequences. Robert Meyer of Renew America has written a thought provoking commentary on ways Christians should view this or any election and he joins us to share his thoughts. Also, Tony Campolo has five reasons why he does not consider himself an “Evangelical Christian.”

How Worldview Influences Our Reality

It always intrigues me when two people can look at the same set of facts and come away with different conclusions. These differing conclusions are of course influenced by our perception of the world and what we have been taught–correctly or erroneously.

As Christians, we see archaeological and scientific discoveries happening regularly that confirm the truth of the Bible. Yet those who stubbornly reject God refuse to see the truth because of ignorance, pride, or a hard heart. The Bible is more than just a religious book–it is an historical book that gives us a look at the creation of the world, along with its future.

Joining us this morning to discuss how credible science is confirming the truth of the Scriptures is Jay Seegert of The Creation Education Center.

Discernment or Self-Destruction?

This morning on Stand Up For the Truth we read your comments and answer your questions from this week.  One central theme is discernment issues within Christianity.  Are we using proper biblical discernment or engaging in prideful witch hunts, looking to discredit others who we disagree with?  Also, several have chimed in regarding young people seeking “community” outside the confines of church. We discuss these and other topics of interest today.

First up, David covers our weekly Media watch segment, answering this question:  Why does secular media dedicate so much time to covering issues Americans say they don’t care about?

Controversial Issues in the Christian Church

Families and societies operate best when there are fixed standards of morality to guide our actions. In our nation, we were established upon the rule of law, supposedly giving us clear instruction what is acceptable or unacceptable behavior. As Christians we are guided by God’s Word which sets the ultimate standard for morality and acceptable behavior for us. But what happens when “normal” becomes subjective to personal feelings?

In the first segment today, we check in with Doug Wakefield of Best Minds, Inc. to keep an eye on world wide economic trends that point to globalism through a coming shake up in the world economy.

Is This the Future of America’s Churches?

Today we cover an intriguing article from Denver, Colorado about an “atheist church of free thinkers.” What is very interesting about the article is the words they use to describe their “community” are the same words that appeal to many young Christians these days: Free-thinking, questioning, skeptical, and conversational.

Is this the model for the future of church for our younger people? We discuss this with Dave Wager of Silver Birch ranch and Nicolet Bible Institute. Dave has worked with youth for 35 years.

The One Who Can Fix Our Problems in Public Education

In our final segment today we offer a solution to the Public Education mess we see as discussed from the crisis at Washington Middle School in Green Bay. The solution is simple, but not easy. It will require qualities sadly lacking these days: courage and conviction.

First up, we are joined by Brad Dacus of The Pacific Justice Institute to discuss legal cases threatening the religious freedom and conviction of Christians in our nation. Even his organization has been labeled a ‘hate’ group’ by the radical Southern Poverty Law Center. Has the Progressive/Marxist juggernaut grown so strong that it is inevitable? If not, what can we do to fight it and restore biblical principles in our nation?
